My husband and I travel to Cape Coral every year for vacation from NY. Last year, we stayed in a hotel for a week and were not going to do that again! So... we painstakingly searched for months for a house to rent in Cape Coral, only to find that most are rented out for the whole winter. Then, we came across the Villa Savona and it had everything we were looking for: location away from a major highway (it's quiet!), on a canal, spacious (it's huge!), pool, boat to rent - it has it all.. and then some! It is impeccably clean and the owner spared no expense in the decorating. Anfang Dezember 2010 haben meine Frau und ich die Villa Savona für zwei Wochen gemietet. Die Lage des Hauses ist recht gut. Die nächste größere Straße liegt ein paar hundert Meter weg. Abends hört man sie kaum. Leider kommt man nach Cape Coral nur über eine von zwei Mautbrücken. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist recht umfangreich. Uns hat nur ein Radio gefehlt. Außerdem ist der Jacuzzi ein wenig klein geraten. Ansonsten ist es für amerikanische Verhältnisse geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Negativ ist uns nur die Sauberkeit aufgefallen. Dafür, dass man doch einen recht hohen Betrag für die Reinigung bezahlt, dürfte man doch etwas mehr erwarten. An einigen Stellen war eine Menge Staub. Könnte daran liegen, dass das Haus vorher nicht vermietet war; ist aber bei den Reinigungskosten nicht akzeptabel. Der Hausverwalter war stets zu erreichen. Da wir unseren 9 Monate alten Sohn dabei hatten, wurde netterweise ein Kinderbett aufgestellt und ein Kinderstuhl zur Verfügung gestellt. Leider hat man uns bei der Übergabe eine halbe Stunde warten lassen, was am Abreisetag den ansonsten guten Eindruck ein wenig trübte. Zum Flughafen nach Miami braucht man ca. drei Stunden. Zu erwähnen ist noch der Poolbereich: Dort gibt es sehr viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten. Da es ein Alarmsystem gibt, kann man auch nicht versehentlich die Türen zum Poolbereich offen stehen lassen. Wenn keine Kinder dabei sind, könnte dieses System aber recht nervig sein. Insgesamt können wir das Haus also mit kleineren Einschränkungen weiterempfehlen.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
