Thank you so much for your wonderful condo on Kauai! Having a clean and beautiful place to stay with an active toddler worked out perfect for our vacation! Highlights: Lydgate Beach, Ono shave ice & halo-halo, papayas, fresh coconut, Waimea Canyon and incredible views (just by sitting here in the living room!). Mahalo! We will be back! Future guests: do check out the pantry, closet and lanai before going shopping for daily needs. The condo is pretty well stocked. Go to Costco for gifts, slippers & lau-lau!

Thank you so much! Staying in unit 201 made our vacation 100% better. Having a home base in the middle of the island helped make the start and end of our day better. Highlights: Food - Monico's (across street) - amazing fish tacos, Tree's (Coconut Grove) - great local music & tasty food. Hikes - Nu'alolo Trail in Waimea Canyon was simply incredible and a great way to start our trip. Hanakapi'ai Falls - breathtaking and completely worth the 8 miles, but start before 8:30am to ensure you get a parking spot (leave here around 7am). Activities - Limahuli Gardens in Ha'ena, Kipu Ranch ATV waterfall tour, Kayak Kauai to Secret Falls, Holo Holo NaPali & Ni'ihau Super Tour. Beaches - North Shore - Tunnels, Secret Beach, Anini - South Shore - Salt Pond (amazing sunset). Can't wait to come back!

Mahalo for a wonderful stay! We have stayed at WBV many times in different units in the past 10 years & I usually do not write in the guest book. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in #201. The unit is very comfortable & has many amenities (much more than other units!). We enjoyed just hanging out at the beach and pool. The kids are getting bigger and becoming better swimmers, so we really enjoyed that! God willing we will be back next summer for our yearly visit and #201 is at the top of our list! Thanks Kevin, we will be in contact with you in the next months. This visit was our best yet with the kids, but our first without FRED! We miss him dearly. Hope to visit him in Central California!

Aloha! Wonderful place to stay! We appreciated the "extras" (beach gear, chairs, etc.). This was our first Kauai trip and we hope to be back next year! We would love to stay here again. Loved the Farmer's Markets for fresh fruit, and Mermaid's Cafe in Kapa'a was delish. Renting bikes in Kapa'a and cruising up the path was gorgeous. Thanks for all! Mahalo!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful place - we loved it! The location, sound of surf, the view - fabulous. You supply so much, all the amenities we have at home. We hope our next week in Molokai has half as much, I know our last week in Maui won't. You really spoiled us, but as it's our 28th anniversary, I guess that's ok. I was on Kauai 32 years ago and took in the show at Coco Palms. Went on the tour today - so sad. Maybe I'll come back in 10 years and it will be rebuilt along with the Seashell Restaurant. We were in Hawaii 20 years ago at the University, but my wife didn't get to Kauai at that time. Now she has seen the Garden Island and loved it - one more place to see off her wish list. Thank you for the beautiful memories.

Aloha! Kaitlyn says on our last day "why are we leaving, why can't we live here?" Pina Colada's & Pinot Grigio on the lanai every night made for an awesome vacation. Did Lydgate Beach, Smith's Luau, Kintaro's and Hanalei Dolphin Fish Market (best sushi rolls ever!). Thank you Kevin, Maria, Danielle & Lani for letting us stay in the best condo with built-in alarm clocks (roosters at 6am!). The rain actually made us feel as if we were in Jurassic Park! Mahalo.

Had a rainy stay at times and muggy, but got to the northern beaches. Saw Kipu Falls for the first time. Rode bikes on the bike path 3 times - great. Try shave ice at Ono Family Restaurant in Kapaa. Went to the college for breakfast and Grand Buffet, also Wine Dinner. Liked 22 Degrees North, Taco Tuesdays at Duke's is great, also Lemon Grass. Best whale watching ever from Blue Dolphin's sunset cruise. Tried a new beach - Kahili Quarry Beach (page 104 in Ultimate Kauai Guidebook). A wonderful time as always with good friends.

Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us. It made our honeymoon so much better! What a beautiful place you have and the lanai is wonderful. We watched the sun rise while drinking our Kona coffee and the sun set with a cocktail. The island is great. Snorkeling on the north shore and sightseeing Waimea Canyon was wonderful. Got to hang out with some locals at Rob's Good Times Grill. We will be back for sure. Thanks again for everything.

Have stayed in others, they are all nice, but the owner did a great job on this one. Very well done and the view & price is awesome.

I loved all the updates from last year! The sheets were terrific and the new washer/dryer are incredible (although difficult to do short cycles). We adjusted to parking on the street due to parking lot resurfacing. Madi and I slept together, so we didn't need the air mattress. This is absolutely the best condo in the building, especially the A/C in the living room. We left a few little things here & there. The only thing I missed was a rubber spatula, facial tissue and good TP! The new fridge is great, even if the water dispenser is a bit wacky and the doors don't self-close. We found malasadas on our 4th trip to K-Mart (I've been looking for them for 3 years!). We went tubing, snorkeling at Anini beach and ATV'ing. Also spent a LOT of time in the pool! Madi learned to boogie board at Salt Pond & loved Smith's show and also the caves. Thanks again for all the supplies & equipment. Enjoy the food we left. I'll be back!!

Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us! We came to Kauai for a wedding of a lifelong friend and ended up adoring the island for many reasons beyond the tourist industry. We had the pleasure of enjoying the sun, several beaches (Anini, Poipu, Hanalei are favorites) and a gentle tradewind kept most of the bugs away, making for a very pleasant stay. WBV #201 amenities were abundant yet appropriate for the length of our stay. There was plenty of parking available, A/C was a must when the humidity was high, and proximity to shopping, airport & restaurants was unbeatable. Eats: we attempted to stay off the beaten path & believe we were fortunate to have found the places we did. Bar Acuda (Hanalei) had a great pupu menu, Eggberts for breakfast was a bargain (just up the road at the Coconut Marketplace), Trees (also in Coconut Marketplace) was a nice spot to catch a local band & share a few drinks. Kalypso (Hanalei) & Olympic Cafe come to mind, but PLEASE try the super Pizza at Brick Oven! It's great Pizza! Sights: Sought out Waimea canyon (Waimea Brewing Company was a highlight!), ziplined in Koloa, snorkeled with Capt. Andy's at the Na Pali Coast, Kauai Coffee tour, surfed Acid Drops beach (best waves I had on the island), caught the Smith Family Luau, sunset at Poipu beach (the Beach House Restaurant was fantastic!), and did some minor shopping up & down the coast. Challenges/advice: Had a few issues with the washing machine not wanting to fill on cold/cold cycle, but it was intermittent. Check the local newspaper for coupons to save on touristy activities. Wi-Fi needed a password that neither of us could find, but used ethernet cable instead. Bring more sunblock than you would expect to the beach! We managed to leave quite burnt! Thanks again, we look forward to a return trip!

Staying here at WBV # 201 was one of the best parts of our family trip! Convenient, clean and close to everything made it easy to adventure everywhere. We drove to the ends of the road - loved Polihale - the best, but recommend Haena beach as well. Our four and seven year-old's had fun at Lydgate and enjoyed the canyon views. We'll have to return again to continue our exploration. So much to see & do, all so great. Local eats - Bobbie's in Hanapepe and Monicos across the street! We cooked a lot in the condo to save $$. We loved the ease of having parking when we got home each night - our relatives at the Aston Islander envied us! Thanks Kevin, we bought two beach umbrellas for the unit too!

My family of 4 stayed in this unit for our very first trip to Kauai for 9 days/nights. On our first day,we made a quick grocery run in Kapaa which saved a lot of money. The condo has boogie boards, coolers, towels, mask & snorkel, umbrellas & even sand toys! There were extra pillows, blankets and even frozen ice packs for the coolers. The kitchen had basic spices & all the cooking pans/utensils, dishes, glassware & silverware. The appliances, washer/dryer & bathroom were very clean and well-maintained. Most appliances were like new. The living space & bedroom were extremely tidy with very nice, newer furniture. The a/c got cold fast and extra fans to accompany the ceiling fans to move air were available. The view from the lanai was awesome & made our nightly decompression heavenly! It truly felt like a suite in those resort hotels without the hassle of parking/shared laundry/other guests. Location is great and central to everything. We walked across the street & to the Coconut Grove for lunch/dinner/shopping. Brought picnics down to & celebrated 4th of July w/fireworks on the beach. There were DVDs/VHS for adults & kids, books, & local guidebooks. The free high-speed Internet kept us in the know since our boys hogged the cable TV. TV in the bedroom helped to keep the peace when my boys wanted to watch different shows. The building is quite nice, quiet & well-maintained. It felt very safe. Parking is plentiful no matter what time you come in. The pool is very convenient & features a bbq area, tables & chairs, loungers & an outdoor shower. We will definitely return to this condo on future trips and recommend it to our friends/family who visit Kauai. This condo shows pride in ownership & is a great home-away-from-home. What's even better is that the owner is easy to work with & quick to respond to any question/email. He included so much information and handy brochures in the rental paperwork packet that we used it to plan our daily adventure. Thanks for everything, Kevin!

We were married on the beach below the condo. We had an amazing trip! Love Poipu beach and river kayaking. Smith's luau was great! The condo was just perfect for the two of us. Dinners on the lanai were perfect. We ate at the Beach House in Poipu - it was the best food I've ever had on the island. This was the most memorable trip we've ever had! The condo was missing a cheese grater & non-slip shower mat. We left a new 7th edition of the Ultimate Kauai guidebook in the condo. Thanks!

We enjoyed our stay in your very clean and tastefully furnished condo. The "shack" below and street noise were minor issues. The weather was windier and wetter than we'd experienced before, but we still were able to get in some great trips - the Fern Grotto, evening show at Smith's, and the Wings over Kauai deluxe tour were the highlights for us, with the drive to Waimea Canyon coming in close behind. Because of the weather we had to skip a few planned trips, but that gave time for some great shopping at the Coconut Marketplace. They have some beautiful and unique things there. Got Red Dirt t-shirts for our two young grandsons. You might consider a non-slip bath mat for the safety of your more senior guests, although everything we could need was certainly here for us. I love the beautiful rattan furniture, spacious bedroom and the sound of the waves pounding the shore below. Thank you for giving us such a comfortable "home" to return to each evening during this, our first trip to Kauai. Now it's on to Maui for a second visit. Mahalo!

This year spent eight wonderful weeks here. Best weather ever, even with the tsunami alert (took Bloody Mary's, a lunch, and had a picnic). Loved the upgrades to the condo, especially the "tiki bar" and high stools, perfect for whale watching. Also loved the quiet dryer. Had dinner at "Trees", made it special for our group of seventeen. Liked the East Sider in Kapaa, but don't go Fridays at happy hour. Great snorkeling at Anini beach this year - several turtles too. Took Subway sandwiches to Salt Pond on Saturday. Saw a spectacular sunset and the whales were jumping and wishing us Aloha. See you next year.

"Eat, pray, love" all at unit 201! Great unit, very clean & well kept. A great location too! This was our third trip to Hawaii (1 cruise, 2 condo in Maui) and we love Kauai, roosters & all! Wonderful sunrises and a great view, even with "Gray Gardens" next to us. We agree that the traffic on the road is a bummer, but no biggie - the pros outweigh the cons...we're in Hawaii! Enjoy our additions - real wine glasses, martini glasses & shaker. We like to "pay it forward" in life! Loved the book on Coco Palms & was fascinated to learn about its past as "the" hotel on Kauai. Hope they can do something to pay it homage. We enjoyed the easy beach access on lazy days & feel happy we saw most of the island's highlights on our daily jaunts in our convertible. Thanks for all of the comforts 201 provided.

Condo was a great value and very comfortable! The location was central for all of our activities (snorkeling & body boarding in Poipu & beaches on north shore). We primarily spent our time at Poipu beaches. This is our second time to visit Kauai and this trip was for relaxation (we rushed to explore the island on our first visit). We loved the little mochas at the Coffee Bean next to Foodland & food shops at the Coconut Marketplace. We tried to reschedule the condo for the same time next year, but it was already booked! Road noise was not an issue for us.

We are so happy to have found your lovely home and so lucky you helped save our trip as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. The condo and staff were wonderful. The island is still truly paradise and still unspoiled. We kayaked, hiked, swam, snorkeled and fell in love with Hanalei and the north shore. But the views and sound of the waves from #201 helped us sleep, unwind, and relax. Thank you so much, we will recommend you to our friends.

'Oceanfront' is a slightly misleading term as used here. There is no, repeat no, direct access to the ocean/beach from the condo. The pictured beach can be accessed only by walking for roughly two hundred feet along the shoulder of a major highway. Yes, you can see the ocean from the balcony of this unit. However, you can also see a dilapidated former restaurant (formerly the 'Seashell', I believe, which is overgrown with weeds, etc.) and the aforementioned major highway. You will hear traffic noise at all times of the day and in all rooms of the unit. The location relative to the island's attractions is good (the East Side of Kauai is centrally located with regard to highways). However, this is not a good choice for those wishing to lounge about their lodgings and enjoy a quiet stroll to the beach. You will need to drive to all beaches and major attractions. On a more positive note, this unit represents an excellent value compared to other Kauai properties. All of the furnishings are comfortable, the full kitchen comes in handy, and Safeway and several good restaurants are less than 2 miles away. You can drive to any point on Kauai within roughly 90 minutes, and the full-size laundry machine, free WiFi, cable TV, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and LCD TVs are nice touches. Bottom line: a nice condo in a sub-par location; a good choice for budget travel and families, but honeymooners and those seeking tranquility probably should look elsewhere.

Once again the condo was perfect! The couch bed was perfect for Dylan - TV, snacks, view, waves, until he crashed each night (I was hoping that the Seashell Restaurant would be imploded by now but...) Dylan loved his scuba trips and we both enjoyed sightseeing the whole island from Polihale to Ke'e. We enjoyed the overcast day at Waimea Canyon. The ATV's were awesome! Dylan also zipped and was overwhelmed. I will definitely be back with a friend, my hubby, or another grandkid. Thanks Kevin and your family too. It was VERY quiet here. Aloha, Connie

We had another great time - the coolest we ever had, but it wasn't snow! The men in our group play golf three or four times a week. We love the Wine Dinner fund raiser they have each year. We won the bid for the Allerton Gardens Sunset Tour which includes the house - the first time in 25 years it's been open. The sunset whale watching trip was good as usual - 27 from our condo went. Enjoyed our usual favorite restaurants including Wahoo's, Duke's & Hukilau Lanai. Had a disappointing experience at Scotty's. There were 12 of us and after waiting over an hour, they told us they ran out of ribs. Were disappointed to see Hula Girl and Coconuts closed. Loved Trees. Hope to return next year for eight weeks. Love everything about the condo but the remains of the Seashell Restaurant. Each year we return we hope it will be gone.

We had a wonderful time! October really is a great time to visit Kauai. We had a fun tour of Na Pali and Ni'ihau with snorkeling onboard the fast catamaran from Holo Holo Charters. The weather was great and we had a group of dolphins join our boat off the Na Pali coast. Kayaking up the Wailua River and then hiking to Secret Falls was also a highlight. We also visited the swimming hole and Fern Grotto via our kayak. The eight mile round-trip hike along the Na Pali coast on the Kalalau trail to Hanakapi'ai beach and then to Hanakapi'ai Falls was tough, but worth the six hours of hiking. Waimea Canyon was beautiful and the hike to Waipao Falls was breathtaking. Loved snorkeling at Ke'e Beach & Poipu. Yummy shave ice at JoJo's and great shrimp at the Shrimp Station. Scotty's Beachside BBQ was fabulous. Beautiful condo with great amenities and extras. Hope to stay here again!

The condo has ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you need for your vacation, from a cork screw to washer and dryer. The decoration was very Hawaiian and made us feel like we were in paradise. The modern flat screen TVs made our nights enjoyable while we listened to the ocean make its wave noise. This is a magical place. We will defintely be back. It couldn't be any cleaner. I can totally see the proud of ownership of this condo. The location is perfect because it is the same distance to go north or south. So it is perfect to explore the island. We could see most of it in 3 days! Thanks again. Don't hesitate on renting this unit.

This is Daniel and my second trip to Kauai. We honeymooned here and came back for our 4th anniversary. We decided to bring our best friends that live on Oahu and show them "our" island. As usual, Kauai didn't disappoint us. The weather was amazing and the views even more breathtaking than we remember. We have now spent 17 days total here and still have not seen all the amazing things this island has to offer. We are already planning our next trip and next time plan to introduce this amazing place with our kids. We can't wait. Thank you for such an amazing place to stay. Your love and pride for your home shows in all the little extras you provide. Thank you! We highly recommend Oki Diner for pancakes, and Scotty's was amazing for BBQ (got two meals out of it!). The Na Pali Coast tour is something everyone should see in their lifetime, and the Waimea Canyon drive is truly nature at it's finest. Thank you again, can't wait to get back to Paradise!

Our 2nd trip to Kauai was as good as the first. We recommend "Wings Over Kauai", very relaxing and the views were great! As favorable as our helicopter tour 2 years ago, and much less expensive. Also, did plenty of hiking - Kalalau, Awa-Awapuhi, Canyon Trail, Maha'ulepu, Pihea Trail (vista was clouded and never cleared). The condo was great, traffic noise was minimal, well stocked. We hope to return...again and again...

Kevin, We left comments in the guest book in the condo, but wanted to thank you again for keeping such a wonderful condo. This being our second time, it seemed even more like home. Our kids were older and enjoyed the boogie boards more this time. The condo once again had everything we could need, beautifully decorated, quiet and clean. We practically had the pool to ourselves! We plan on making this a regular vacation destination (every 3 years is about our speed). We hope you keep offering this condo for years to come. Thanks again!

Had a wonderful 25 year anniversary trip!! The wine and plant were a very nice touch. The condo is fantastic. We did the Wings Over Kauai air tour which we would highly recommend. There are many friends at home wanting to know how out trip was because they also want to come. We will highly recommend #201. Thanks for a great adventure! Bruce & Karrie

Our first time to Hawaii - had a wonderful 5-year anniversary vacation. The condo is great - has everything we need and then some! Wailua Family Restaurant is nice for breakfast (banana pancakes - yum!). Had a blast on the Kipu Ranch ATV trip, and we attempted the "Secret Tunnels" hike described in the Ultimate Kauai Guide - started too late in the day and did not make it - six hours of jungle / mud hiking. Foodland in Kapa'a has wonderful fresh fish - try the Hawaiian Butter Fish. We cooked it in garlic butter - awesome with a Mai Tai. We will be back!!
