This place is made for the nature lover....if you're looking for peace and quiet....this is it.... away from the city lights...so the stars and moon are awesome. It's a great place to bike through the country, build bonfires or cool off at the local creek two miles away.
Serenity Acres is located 10 miles East of the town of Wiggins on a 40 acre farm. The farm has horses and cows on most of the acreage. There are two cottages and a garage that was converted to the Party Barn. It has a firepit, porch swings, firepit, charcoal grill and tables and chairs to acomodate 16 guests. There is also a studio near the Party Barn, perfect for a Pinterest Party.
The property is about 2 miles from Red Creek which has a public boat launch for kayaks and canoes. There are ponds on the farm for fun fishing. The nearest town is Wiggins. Flint Creek Water Park is located there for the serious fishermen and a water slide is available for the kids. Pine Burr Country Club is located in Wiggins, which has a great course with affordable green fees. Blaylock Park has tennis courts which are free to the public. There are several interesting eateries, antique and resale shops in town. It's a great place for Snowbirds to spend the winter months, family reunions or getaways..
It's a nice place to get away, get back to a simple life and 'rough' it for a weekend. Bring your telescope, sit outside and look at the stars, build a fire inside or outside in the firepit, listen for the coyotes, or watch the horses and cows. It's a totally relaxing getaway, providing a unique way to spend a weekend.
If you aren't familiar with Mississippi and its weather, this is an appropriate quote from THE HELP. 'Mississippi got the most unorganized weather in the nation. In February, it'll be fifteen degrees and you be wishing spring would come on, and the next day it's ninety degrees for the next nine months.' So pack appropriately, and always bring a swimsuit.

I had a great time. I took lots of pictures. My dad and I found the games and played Scrabble. We also took pictures of the horses. We used the fireplace a lot. Your house is to die for. We all loved the back porch. The dogs also ran almost all day. I really hope we can come again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a great spot you've here! Your back porch is a special spot. The breeze always blew gently and we could see the horses and cows from there. Your pottery is to die for...some of the most interesting pieces I've seen. Thanks for an enjoyable escape from the Big Easy.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The home and land were everything you said and more!! Serenity was what we were looking for and a sense of peace was what we left with. We're going to Club Red tomorrow for that "different peace and quiet". We can't imagine it gets any better than this.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We and our children and grandchildren enjoyed all being togetether in a lovely home over this Memorial Day. we walked the property and enjoyed the flowers and plants, fed the cats, petted the horses, enjoyed the neighbor's beagle - who slept over one night on the porch. We all slept comfortably and had a wonderful holiday! Thank you for sharing with us, this home has lovely memories made here. Hope to do it again next year.Did you find this review helpful? This is the second year we have rented here. There is an addition of an above ground pool that due to the hot, dry weather was enjoyable. Owner is friendly and helpful. Best overall impression is " every inherited property should come with a trust fund; this one did not!" she does wonders keeping things in shape and we hope to return again. Country folk are just what you hope for - helpful, happy and sweet.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

I recently stayed at Bent Cypress Cottage with two other fathers and our kids for Father's Day weekend. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The house is adorable on beautiful land with horses and cattle. The kids had a blast and so did the dad's! We went on a canoe trip on Black Creek, which is only about 30 minutes away. After, we came to the farm to bbq and relax. There was a note from the owner informing us of fresh blueberries on vines we were welcome to. The kids had fun picking fresh blueberries to go with our breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend this cottage if you're looking to get back in the country and stay in comfort!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
