My family stayed there the first weekend in October and it was the prefect time to go wine tasting, pumpkin and apple picking. The house accomodated all of us comfortably (8 adults and 4 children) but the icing on the cake was the backyard. From having a family football game on the back lawn to enjoying a nice glass of wine under the gazebo at night. It was a wonderful weekend..thanks alot Bruce.
Owner response:Glad you had a great weekend, next time check out my other home #352118 the NFL could have a game in that back yard!!!

Eight of us (three couples and two singles) stayed at this house for a wedding, and it was great. The house is very spacious, immaculately clean, and appointed with comfortable furniture and lots of flat screen TVs. Unlike some large rental houses, there was plenty of hot water when we all took showers back-to-back. The backyard, which we did not really get to use because of the cold weather, has a huge dining table, firepit, tiki bar, and lots of space. And of course, the North Fork is terrific.
Owner response:I am happy to hear you enjoyed the house. The reason you did not run out of hot water is because I had a 75 gallon hot water heater installed,my other home homeaway #384356 has a tankless propane hot water heater you could run the hot water for 24hrs and never run out of hot water on either home.I feel these things are important, there is nothing like getting dressed for a wedding and have to wait for hot water........bg

North Fork, Long Island was our first port of call on our American vacation from the U.K. and Bruce's beautiful house surpassed our expectations. The property was immaculate and well equipped for the perfect family holiday. The accommodation was furnished to a very high standard and the outdoor space was amazing, with lovely patio furniture, B.B.Q, gazebo and tiki bar. The house was ideally situated to explore the Hamptons, vineyards and within easy reach of the sights of New York. After a wonderful week, Bruce was on hand to give us valuable advice on our travel plans for the next phase of our vacation. We travelled home to the United Kingdom three weeks later having thoroughly enjoyed our American experience.
Owner response:Happy to hear the rest of your trip went well, glad you could enjoy our Southampton!!!!....Bruce

This property more than met our family's needs. My son's wedding was at The Vineyards, and many family members traveled long distances to attend. This house was the perfect location for us to simply relax, enjoy the patio and gazebo and the large back yard, and each other's company. In 4 days, I only left the property to attend the wedding - remaining time was spent on the patio, in the kitchen, and enjoying the tasty local wines. Bruce was prompt to respond to my few questions upon arrival, and all of our guests agreed that we would try to rent the house in the future if our travels take us out this way again.
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed the gazebo,I have had people stay in the house in November and spend time in the gazebo(with blankets)......Bruce

This house was an ideal place to stay for our daughter's wedding at The Vineyards. It was clean and beautifully decorated. We had an issue with the air conditioning unit and Bruce was at the house very promptly with a technian. It was nice not to have to get ready for the wedding all hot and sweaty! Our family will definitely recommend this property plus Bruce's new victorian property to everyone needing a place to stay in the Aquabogue area.

We had a wonderful time in your house! 10 women slept comfortably. We enjoyed the outside area, firepit, gazebo and the warmth of the home. We went to Martha Clara Vineyard, so close to house, and then watched a movie on that amazing TV at night,. House was so clean and inviting. You were so very nice and accomadating. Can't wait to come back next year!

We just left yesterday afternoon and I was ready to return as soon as we left the driveway. This was my first house rental experience and it could not have gone smoother. Bruce was extremely quick to answer any questions and made the experience easy from start to finish. The house was just as described - beautiful inside and even better outside. The two patio areas provided plenty of room for our group to relax after an afternoon of wine tasting. I look forward to our next trip and would recommend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful house to rent that does not come with any headaches!

Thanks` Bruce, we really had a good time in Aquebogue. The house and garden are beautiful and very well kept. The fall weather was great, so we were able to use the garden and the grill place. We enjoyed the hampton beaches and did some good shopping in the mall. We even made day trips to Manhatten and the Bronx Zoo. Thanks for answering promply to every question, and the look box on the front door was very comfortable. We hope to be back some time!

Bruce has been renting vacation homes for over 30 years and it shows. A military veteran with what looks like a military haircut and a knack for building and fixing stuff, Bruce has made this home a real sweet retreat. He is very agreeable and pleasant. And the home seems to anticipate and answer your needs. The amenities are so thorough that initially it felt like breaking into someone’s home; nothing “rental” about the space. Some little details stick with you, like the vivid richness of its lawns, the softly lit path that welcomes you in the evening, or the gazebo with its own grill/bar and charming icebox in a rustic wooden chest; just the details that remind you why you chose to stay at a vacation home and not a ritzy hotel. That my wife and I will be staying at this property again is a given.
Owner response:I know that you looked at many homes before you chose mine as you noted there is a difference, this home is more than a rental home it's a place that I stay whenever I can.I hope you enjoyed the new teak table on patio # 1....Best Regards....Bruce

We spent the last 5 days of July in this lovely house! Except for sleeping and a bit of TV, most of our time was spent outside in the wonderful gazebo, or watching the steak and corn on the grill! Between the very numerous farm stands, wineries, the beach, and picturesque North Shore towns, there is NEVER a lack of something great to do! Thanks Bruce - we hope to be able to come back in 2011! This is a great vacation house and location. Staying here is a great way to see the wineries, the Hamptons, the beaches and the city in 1 week. The house was comfortable for our 7 adults/teenagers, convenient to local area shopping and the many vineyards, and the area is quite in the evenings. We enjoyed going wine tasting and finding great wines to have with dinner on the gazebo/patio area. The Ronkonkoma train station is about 40 mins from the house and the train ride to NYC is about 1 hour and 20 mins. We enjoyed the big backyard for family games. If we visit this area again, we will try to stay here.

Greatly enjoyed our week in this charmed house that has distinguished character. Loaded with all the comforts of home and then some. Renting this abode made entertaining family before and after Michael and Meghan’s wedding a breeze. The private accommodation is easy to find and assessable. During the week, we attended the Sag Harbor Theater (within an hours drive), hosted diner at the Cooperage Inn (Baiting Hollow), and feasted at Vineyard Caterers (Aquebogue). All EXCELLENT and nearby. Thanks Bruce.
Owner response:And thank you !!! sounds like all worked out well. The last three families that stayed in the house had there weddings in the Vineyard Caterers, only !/2 mile away.

Our holiday winter vacation was memorable. The home is perfect for large groups and so comfortable with all the modern amenities. We got over a foot of snow on our 2nd day there and the kids were thrilled. We did wine tasting just a few miles away, shopping at the outlets and took the train in to Manhattan. We look forward to returning to this lovely home and have already recommended it to friends.

What a great New Years holiday weekend! Some people enjoyed shopping in the Tanger outlets and some of us just enjoyed the snowy weather lounging around this very comfortable house. Vineyards were open at this time of year so that was a big plus and there's a great restaurant right down the block so no driving in the snow. 10 adults fit comfortably and we were able to put the kitchen to good use. I would totally stay again!
Owner response:The Meeting House Creek inn also has a Tiki bar on the water overlooking the boats ,come back in the summer to enjoy it........BG

We could not have asked for a better home to rent for our Thanksgiving family reunion (Nov. 2009) (family from California, Texas, Colorado and New York). The owner, Bruce, was so accommodating and friendly. Every thing was perfect. The house comfortably slept ten. The weather wasn't too bad for November so the guys got to play touch football in the very large backyard and we even got to grill hamburgers out back in the really nice gazebo one night. There are great outlets near by and wineries which we took full advantage of. At night we all gathered around in the living room to play games and watch the huge flat screen TV. We'd love to return again. Thank you Bruce!!!!

Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed your stay, this is the first time I have responded to a review that I cannot read but I guess it's about the same as you left in the house guest book that was very positive(and in english).....Bruce

We just got back from another great "Girls Weekend" on the North Fork. This was our second visit to this home and is was nicer than ever. The homeowner has made some outstanding updates to the property, both inside and out. The home is kept very clean and offers all of the ammenties that we could ask for, right down to the sheets & towels. It suited our needs perfectly and will certainly be back again next year. The location is fantastic and Bruce was a pleasure to deal with. What more can we say...we all loved it!

We spent a week in this comfortable house with four adult couples and a baby. The house is in a great, quiet location close to plenty of vinyards, roadside farm stands, restaurants, and the Tanger Outlet mall. The outside backyard patio / gazebo area was very well-maintained and was perfect for family meals, entertaining, and relaxing. The inside of the house was comfortable and warm -- it felt like home right away. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, and each room had its own TV. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The bathrooms could use some updating, but Bruce, the owner, indicated that he's doing some bathroom remodeling later this year. Bruce was very responsive and easy to work with through the whole rental process. We'll definitely stay in this house again next time we're in the area.
Owner response:Yes the bathrooms are in great shape but are builders vanities and mirrors, the toilets have already been replaced and the upstairs shower stall has been updated with tumbled stone walls and a new frameless shower door..The plan this winter is to remodel the down bath and put a new vanity in the up bath.I wanted to do it this spring but ran out of time as the house is always rented completely from June- September.Last winter we put a new central a/c system,a new Budarus heating system, completely remolded the kitchen, installed a new stone patio with a walkway to the gazebo area, expanded the gazebo area to include a new tiki bar, installed three new flat screen tvs(total four),replaced all the livingroom furniture, replaced the down stairs queen bed and mattress.

Though I've been blessed for the most part at finding nice vacation rentals on-line it's my preferred method of vacationing so each year I search and rent with fear and trepidation because I have had some real duds. That was not the case with this home. It was clean and quiet, amply equipped with everything we needed, great big screen TV's, close to the beaches and area attractions. The gazebo is beautiful and beautifully furnished. And Bruce, the owner, is great to work with and available if needed. If I go back to this area of the country, I would definately rent this property again.

Just spent a wonderful girls weekend at this North Fork "farmhouse". We couldn't have had a better experience. The house itself had everything we needed, including a large, beautiful, and well-manicured backyard. We were pleasantly surprised to see a newly constructed lit walkway leading to the gazebo/outdoor lounge area. The bedrooms were clean and tastefully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed for meals each night. The owner was easily accessible before we arrived and promptly answered any questions that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property!

We enjoyed this house. It was clean, had nicely decorated rooms, TV in every room, a few really, really nice tv's, relaxing and pleasant place to stay. We were looking for something close to the wineries and this was great. It's pretty close to the Paumanok winery which we loved and many others. Has a great yard although we didn't use it as much as we would've liked, as it was winter. It's great for warmer weather in the backyard but luckily we had one really warm day for the guys to be out and play some sports. Make sure to bring your toiletries though (shampoo, soap, etc.) some of us forgot and there are none laying around. All in all we really like this house, felt like home.
Owner response:Glad you had a great weekend.Since you left we have installed a new granite counter top and a new kitchen(white washed oak).Hope you come back to enjoy it.Thanks for your feedback on the toiletries, I now leave out hotel style soap shampoo and conditioners.....BG

The best part is the yard - great for some tag football, bocce ball and of course - nahing out in the great patio area. The table was great and sat everyone. The gazebo was a fabulous place to hang out after a day of wione tasting. Turn on the lights, light the tiki torches and relax. I wish the weekend did not go so fast. The owner was so accommodating and could not have been easier to deal with. If you want a great house in a great location - this one is for you!!
Owner response:I am glad that the money and hard work that I have put into the house has not gone unnoticed. The table in the gazebo area is a Tropitone table and chairs, you could buy a nice used car for the price of that set.It is so nice when people notice the high end thjngs that I have put into the house, thanks for the kind words.......Bruce

We had a wedding at the Raphael Winery in Peconic which was outstanding. We thought it would be fun to stay in a house with the family. It was perfect. You really feel like you are in the country - the backyard is endless. The house is spotless, tastfully decorated, cheery, welcoming and comfortable and the grounds are pretty with colorful flowers and a wide variation of nicely groomed plants. The gazebo area is very nicely done and a great place to have a few drinks at the end of the day and the mattresses will guarantee a perfect nights sleep. The pix don't do it justice.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words,I work hard trying to make the house as clean and updated as possible. The gazebo is also my favorite spot, watching the tractors on the farm in the rear of the house.

A great house in a quiet location, with four comfortable bedrooms to accommodate our group of friends. While it was too cold to enjoy it during our stay, the gazebo looked like a great place to lounge while waiting for your food to cook on the barbeque. Close to most of the wineries on the North Fork, and a good central location for day trips to the Hamptons, Montauk, or East Marion. This home looks exactly as it does in the photos. Enjoy your stay!

Could be a great place. As of Summer 2007 it needed repairs and a good cleaning. If it were well maintained and clean it would be great.
Owner response:House has been completely painted(interior) and bathroomm remodeled in Feb 08.I have had nothing but positive responses in my guest book. The house is spotless.......Bruce ....Why would a person stay in a house in August and review it the following March eight months later?
