Unfortunately, due to extreme weather before our stay, the condo had some issues when we got there. We ultimately decided not to stay and instead found other lodging while on our trip. The reason I rate the overall experience as 4 stars was due to the excellent customer service provided by the owner. After calling him and explaining the situation (he was very apologetic and sympathetic) the owner worked with us to not only find another place to stay, but was committed to ensuring we had a great trip and refunding not only our fee for the condo, but the deposit as well. There was no wrangling or arguments at all, just swift responses to phone calls and emails in order to get things settled. In a day where customer service is a dying art, I was more than impressed with the owner's willingness to do what he could to make things right. I am sure by now the place is back up to par and ready for the next guest. And know that if not, you are in good hands and are working with someone who will make it right.

“The trip was fantastic and the location and second floor lanai were second to none. The cool winds coming down from the mountain towards the ocean allowed us to never have to turn on the air conditioner along with keeping the sounds of the surf going all week long.”

WOW, the view was SPECTACULAR as advertised. The ocean is literally a stones throw from the large condo patio, but the second floor location feels very private. The sound of the ocean waves softly lulled us to sleep every night. The Maui Sands grounds and pool were beautiful and quiet. It was also away from the traffic and density of the bigger hotels. The reserved parking space was only steps from the unit. We loved the convenience of a condo for our family. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment for us to prepare breakfast daily, and other meals when we desired. The grocery store is only 1 block away. There were boogie boards and snorkeling gear at the condo. Also classic DVD movies were enjoyed by all. The owner/manager of this unit was always promptly responsive to emails and questions.

Thank you very much for letting us stay in your gorgeous apartment in Maui!! We returned Saturday and had a fantastic time! We left our daughter with the grandparents, so it was like a 2nd honeymoon for us. We were very comfortable in your apartment. We slept very well, and the apartment is so private and quiet. We ate our dinners out on the lanai, and enjoyed watching people snorkel right past the building! I loved that the only sounds we heard were the sounds of the waves crashing and the birds chirping. Your apartment has the best views of any place we've ever stayed- truly amazing. We loved that we could see the mountains and palm trees in the front of the building and the ocean directly behind the building. I loved the peace and quiet of Maui Sands. I loved that we stayed in a residential area that was not at all touristy. We had an action-packed week (photos attached). We went hiking, horseback riding into Haleakala's crater, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and took surfing lessons (we were surprised that we were able to stand up on the surf boards immediately- we took right to it!). We attended a wedding on a hillside at the Plantation House, and it was the most spectacular ceremony we'd ever seen. Thank you so much. We loved your apartment.

We loved Maui, and would love to be able to come back next year. I will keep your VRBO bookmarked. The view was absolutely stunning, I don't think we would have been able to find another view more majestic! I do miss the waves, the sun, beach (which turned out to be a fantastic option for our small kids, especially in front of the condo when the tide was out), and pretty much everything else we were able to enjoy. Thank you for facilitating the baby gear rental, as it was much needed for our kids. Our son talks about Hawaii everyday (not to mention, he wears one of his Maui/Hawaii shirts almost everyday). Otherwise, thanks again for the rental of your condo... truly a piece of Maui paradise!

The view, the condo, everything was Perfect! We were very comfortable, we swam everyday in front of the condo, we used the barbecue, relaxed and would give your condo the highest ratings possible. We loved Maui, and would love to be able to come back next year. I will keep your VRBO bookmarked. We had a GREAT time staying at the property. It is SO close to the ocean and the sweeping view is just spectacular ! I love sitting at the lanai at the break of dawn watching Molokai and the ocean turning pink as rays of sunshine light up the horizon. We even saw a turtle swimming by one day :-) The beach in front of the property has wonderful tidal pools for morning strolls - we saw a giant eel, school of fish (including fish nurseries -- so cute...), starfish, crabs etc. It's a great way to "snorkel" without getting your hair wet. This is also the best place to chill out in the evening, complete with a gorgeous sunset every night ! This property is on the top floor and a corner unit - nice and quiet. It's spacious and clean with a fully equipped kitchen - the air conditioning is a great plus. High speed internet connection is very good - I told my colleagues it would be great if I can work from here :-) The property ground is well maintained with garden with a clean fresh water pool. The property manager is very helpful also. We would love to stay here again when we next visit Maui!

My mom and I had a wonderful time. I would not have changed anything. The view is spectacular and the condo complex is very quiet and clean. As a matter of fact my mom said it was the best vacation that she has ever had. I would highly recommend Maui Gold to my friends and family. Thank you again.

I wanted you to know that I wouldn't change a thing about your condo. It was nicely furnished, close to stores, right on the beach, and the view was to die for! Saw humpback whales all hours of the day, and my son loved swimming in the ocean. Perfect.

Loved the condo. Stayed 12/6 to 12/16. Kurt showed up 5 minutes after we arrived, magically. I was trying to phone him on my cell phone as we couldn't open the lock box....he must have "sensed" our distress and came over! I appreciated having beach towels there. The microwave died but that was no big deal and Kurt was replacing it by the end our our stay. It is a beautiful place and the setting was lovely. Thanks for your hospitality and quick response!

We found your condo to be in very good condition and in a very good location. The view from the living room windows and deck was right out a post card with the ocean waves breaking just belowyour condo. The pool and open areas around the condo units provided several areas for the kids to play or just sun. The location af the complex was convenient to food, restaraunts and every kind fo service you could think of. We had a great stay at your condo and would recommend it with out reservation.

MauiGold is really a very exceptional place. Of course, being a beachfront property looking at the island of Molokai helps, but we found the unit very comfortable and clean with lots of living space and fully stocked. The Lanai is big and almost on the water. At night, it sounds like you are practically in the ocean and the sea breeze blows through the condo keeping it cool and fresh. I've been all over this island and this is one of the jewel locations.
