Wonderful stay. The place was exactly as the photos depicted and immaculate. Just a few minutes from beach and restaurants. Jim and Kay were very helpful and all their recommendations proved to be correct. They were just like neighbors and helped make our trip seem more like staying in a second home.

Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely village home. The cleanliness and attention to detail was amazing. We loved it. Some problems occurred in the house that you should be made aware of as we are not pleased with the experience - a neighbour complained almost daily of our conversations on the patio, at a normal level as confirmed by the Longboat Key police officers on a Friday night (the neighbour rang them); the neighbour had no problem with interrupting our online working/speaking with colleagues in Europe by requesting several times to restart the wireless router for them; no information about the wireless system (SSID & password) was available at the property nor that it was shared (this information IS contained in the rental agreement); the advertisment for the house claims luxury cotton sheets but only 1 set (queen-sized) was found in the closet. None are available for the single beds. All other sheets are polyester/cotton. Not a luxury, at any time; the advertisement for the house claims gas/electric grill. we were surprised at the tone of the owner when informed that the gas grill 'was mine'. After the telephone conversation we were embarassed to approach the house of the owner to use the post stamp-sized pool; we were not warmly greeted nor attended to. No one explained anything to us save the 'welcome' note about the rubbish collections; we were quite aware of and vigorously observed the smoking policy. The owner mentionied it again during a telephone call and it was off-putting; the rubbish bin was completely full upon our arrival. Summary - book elsewhere.

Owner response:This is the only negative you will find. The renter wanted me to refund his credit card charge and put it onto a different credit card. I told him I would do it for him but he would have to pay the credit card fee charge. He refused and said he would give us a bad review. So I did not pay and he wrote the above. We do provide an electric grill. The gas one he mentions is across the street behind my house on my back patio six feet from my kitchen door. We have two sets of linens at all times for both bedrooms, period. The pool is over 400 sq. feet. Rather large ("postage stamp".) Our place is great. These renters were not. Sorry for this. The townhouse is really nice, very clean and inviting. I like the proximity to the beach a 5 minutes walk. The location is also very close to shopping and walking distance to restaurants. I will be back.

A friend and I stayed for a week on Longboat Key and would highly recommend renting Jim and Kay's town home. We found their place to be exceptionally clean and well-appointed, with all the comforts of home. The location was perfect, in a quiet, neighbourhood with easy access to beaches, shopping etc. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and garden. Thanks for a great visit, we would definitely come back!

My husband and I have been to Long Boat Key several times over the last few years. It's a beautiful place to visit. This past summer we took my parents and 2 children. It was a wonderful, relaxing time. The house was perfect for us (my son is an infant, so we rented a crib). My husband and father fished off the patio every day, we walked to the beach almost every day. The house was immaculate, neighborhood quiet. Great location on the island. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We highly recommend the townhouse on St. Judes Dr. It is completely renovated and furnished with everything new. There is not a thing you could want for. Kay is rated "excellent" with her decorating. The Key is beautiful! There is a park right next door that we enjoyed walking through on our way up to the corner to get the daily paper every morning. Just up the road is the Blue Dolphin Cafe where you can get a great breakfast or lunch. At the south end of the Key is the Pelican Man Sanctuary and The Aquarium which we throughly enjoyed. Right there is the New Pass Grill where you can sit outside and enjoy a delicious fish sandwich. On the way back just after you cross the bridge you can walk through "Quick Point" Nature Preserve. While we stayed on LongBoat Key, we enjoyed going up to Bradenton, by way of Anna Maria Island for shopping. That area is not as crowded as Sarasota. Best of all, Jim and Kay Quinn are there to accommodate you!!! Neithy and Tom Hellen

Our family had a wonderful week at Long Boat Key Island! The beautifully renovated townhouse was the ideal vacation spot, with all of the comforts of home. Jim and Kay made sure the townhouse was equipped with everything needed to make our vacation a relaxing and memorable one. A great deal of planning went into every design detail. Our kids loved walking to the beach and fishing in the canal. I highly recommend this unit for its location, spaciousness, and beautiful decor - it is clearly an excellent value!
