Complete and utter relaxation...

My husband and I first visited Lubbers Quarters with friends in '07... and wanted to bring our adult children back to see the place that we fell in love with! The Abacos have to be experienced to be believed! The colors of the water...almost unbelievable still. Lubbers is an ideal central location to take in the sights to the north and to the south, without terribly long boat rides.Perhaps, we appreciate each other more and life more...but, this was our best family vacation ever...it could not have been improved upon. We "roughed it" a little more on our first trip to the Abacos. Dan found "Beach Lubbers" while researching the internet, and I am so glad he did. The house was exceptional. We enjoyed cooking in as much as going out. The kitchen was well set up. The house was comfortable in every way imaginable, the spacious porch, the dock, the beach in our front yard,...our own "private island heaven". The selfish part of me would like to keep it our little family secret. Relaxation was the word that popped up first when I polled the crew about what meant the most to them...complete and utter relaxation.. Other favorites were: my daughter... the hammock, my son.... the ring toss game on the porch, my new son(in law)...the fishing, my husband...watching all the different species of fish from the dock and the beautiful sunrises from the porch, and mine... walking and exploring around the island, soaking in the stunning beauty. We all hope to return...(tomorrow)!

My family and I have been enjoying the Abacos for the last 15 years. During this time, we have rented many houses in Hopetown and on Lubbers Quarters. Beach Lubbers is one of the absolute best! The house is very well-equipped and wonderfully comfortable, but by far, the best aspect of Beach Lubbers is its location. Imagine sunrises from your front porch, a sandy swimming beach a few short steps from your front door, your own private dockage, privacy but close enough to the main road and community marina to enjoy other visitors as well as locals. Beach Lubbers has the best of it all . . . we will definitely rent it again and again!

Beach Lubbers ... your "secret" Paradise

I've been back from Beach Lubbers on Lubbers Quarters in the Abaco Islands for a little over a week and my blood pressure feels like it is still at its lowest for at least the past 15-20 years. Talk about a stress reducer from the hustle and bustle of everyday life ... Beach Lubbers is it! From the moment I found Ron and Barbara's place while searching the Internet, I knew this would be the place. This is the perfect getaway for two couples, a family or three buddies. Although I tried in vain to convince my wife to take off some time off from work, it ended up being two friends and me. We flew out of Tamiami Airport in Miami to Marsh Harbour landing in the early evening due to a late start out of Miami. We rented a 23' Albury from Stafford Patterson at SeaHorse Boat Rentals. Stafford's manager, Emerson had us follow him because it was pitch black and we had not boated from Boat Harbour to Lubbers before. As we pulled up to the house about 9:30 PM, it was easy to find because of the solar lights along the dock and Donny (best caretaker/friend you will ever meet) was signaling us in with a flashlight. The short walk up the dock and across the thoughtfully planted grass sidewalk led us to the beautiful porch where we would end up drinking many beers and relaxing in the nice breeze. Once inside, the three of us were very impressed at how the how much attention and detail Ron and Barbara have placed into their home from the varied CD music collection to the perfectly manicured shrubs, it is evident how much pride and effort they put into keeping BL such a nice property. Even the little things such as the 10" wooden phone pole sections next to the chairs down by the water where I had my ritual after breakfast of sitting in a chair with two of them in front of my chair for each foot to rest on and one next to my chair to keep my beer close at hand. Over the next several days we enjoyed Cracker P’s just 3 minutes north by boat, Hopetown just a short 10 minute ride away, Nipper’s up on Guana, Pete’s Pub down at Little Harbour … we enjoyed it all! Beach Lubbers is quiet and removed yet perfectly located in the middle of all that is fun in the Abacos. More importantly, some of the best time on the trip is when we did "nothing at all" but just hang out at the house. Whether sitting on beach, relaxing on the porch, cooking fresh caught dolphin or snorkling off the dock ... Beach Lubbers is the perfect place for an awesome trip to the Abaco Islands!
