Fawcett Mill, built in 1794 as the Mill Owners Cottage to the adjacent Mill and waterfall, is located midway between the two National Parks of The Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District, situated in its own tranquil valley, in seven acres of meadowland bounded by a stream overlooking the quiet Howgill Mountains, but only two miles from junction 38 of the M6 London/Scotland motorway.
The smoke-free cottage is furnished in comfortable country style with oak beams, open log fires, a rayburn kitchen range, and a working old style victorian range in the living room. The cottage is fully central heated and all bedrooms are fully carpeted.
Outside there are terraces and patio areas down to the stream and adjacent waterfall, and a barbecue area. The area is naturally beautiful hill farming country with pleasant walking in all directions with the local village of Orton being on the popular Coast to Coast Walk. The towns of Kendal, Penrith and Appleby are all an approximate 20 minute drive.
Fawcett Mill is an ideal gathering place for reunions and family and group get togethers with easy access to Manchester, Prestwick and Glasgow International Airports; all about one Hour by Motorway.
