Welcome to Second Base at Holden Beach. This beautiful home in the dunes of Holden Beach, North Carolina is a great escape from the hectic world. The home has incredible views and lots of rockers and chaise lounges from which to enjoy them.
Inside, this comfortable home has plenty of space for everyone with four TVs, two VCRs, and one DVD player; there are also CD players available in the living room and two bedrooms. The home has an extensive library so there is plenty of reading material for all the "beach readers" in your family.
We have just had new carpet put in the bedrooms and have recently added wireless Internet access but we recommend that you only work from the beach if you absolutely have to.
The downstairs is enclosed with two parking areas on either end and a play area for the kids... great for rainy days at the beach. There is a basketball goal and four bikes for those who need to exercise while they are at the beach.

Owner Description
We first visited Holden Beach about 1989 when our children were very little and we fell in love with this quiet family beach community. We continued to come to Holden at least once year and in 2000 took the plunge and purchased our piece of "beach heaven".
Why the Owner Chose Holden Beach
We love Holden Beach because it is the one place where we get away from the hectic pace of daily life and work. This is where we really relax and recharge our batteries before we go back to the real world.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Coffee and the newspaper in the sunroom first thing in the morning is our regular ritual when we are at the beach. We love sitting on the back porch rocking an afternoon away while watching the ocean waves roll in. The house is an easy walk to the beach so it is very convenient to go down to the beach a couple of times a day if we like and we love late summer afternoons on the beach.

We are loosing count of how many years we have made it to "Second Base." Here we have fond memories of old friends and good times with new friends. Once again the boys took part in Olympic ping-pong, we swam in the rain, and said goodbye to the summer at Holden! We got to Provisions and had a great weekend. Thank you again for opening your house to a bunch of over-worked educators!

Thank you very much for allowing our family to stay at your home. The accommodations were great. The outside shower was so helpful after a day at the beach. We have two words to describe our mini-vacation...absolutley perfect! The house, the weather - we had a great time! We tried to do it all. We spent the day shopping and walking in Southport on Friday. It's a great waterfront town! Saturday we stayed at the house. We ran, rode bikes for a couple of hours, played ping pong, went to the beach, and enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the ocean. The house is great and lacks nothing. The personal touches meant a lot since this was our first trip to Holden Beach. We kept saying "we need another day". We definitely want to come back sometime next year. Maybe for a whole week!
