Great time at the beach

This is a great house for the week. We have 2 kids and it was perfect with lots of books to read. It is solid in the basics that it offers. Very easy walk to the beach with 2 little kids and toys. We really enjoyed our time here!

Superb home, very spacious and clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. My grandson rode the bike (furnished by the owners) over the island (he's 15) and found a small fishing dock 2 blocks from this home. He and my husband spent several hours fishing, watching the boats go by, etc. My granddaughters went to the beach while the guys fished. My husband enjoyed the sunroom, and reading while we were there. The beach was about 3 blocks from this home. The Holden pier was about 5 minutes away, however, the dock 2 blocks away, was perfect for just the view and fishing in the inlet. Well worth the money for a Holden Beach stay. The nicest family beach I have ever been to, looking forward to going back soon...

We are loosing count of how many years we have made it to "Second Base." Here we have fond memories of old friends and good times with new friends. Once again the boys took part in Olympic ping-pong, we swam in the rain, and said goodbye to the summer at Holden! We got to Provisions and had a great weekend. Thank you again for opening your house to a bunch of over-worked educators!

Thank you very much for allowing our family to stay at your home. The accommodations were great. The outside shower was so helpful after a day at the beach. The books for the kids were great; each night we read stories. We enjoyed the rocking chairs in the evening after the kids went to bed. Thanks again and we hope to return next summer.

Thank you again for letting us use this fabulous home. After becoming familiar with the area last year, we spent more time playing and relaxing at the beach this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed your home away from home for the second year!! We love everything about "Second Base." We are grateful to you guys for letting us use it. This has been the longest vaction we have had and it was super!! Your house is so well equipped for us Taylor loved catching criters and fish with her net. Amanda and Rebeccas loved having two boy friends visit for three nights. Rena enjoyed the ping pong and the outdoor shower. John just loves the whole layout of the house! We have two words to describe our mini-vacation...absolutley perfect! The house, the weather - we had a great time! We tried to do it all. We spent the day shopping and walking in Southport on Friday. It's a great waterfront town! Saturday we stayed at the house. We ran, rode bikes for a couple of hours, played ping pong, went to the beach, and enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the ocean. The house is great and lacks nothing. The personal touches meant a lot since this was our first trip to Holden Beach. We kept saying "we need another day". We definitely want to come back sometime next year. Maybe for a whole week! Thanks so much for sharing your beach home with us!

Thanks so much for allowing us to enjoy Second Base! We absolutely loved our week at Holden Beach. The house is perfect and we felt at home from the minute we walked in. You have it decorated so fittingly for the beach and had so many welcoming touches. We enjoyed and appreciated the notebook telling of restaurants, beach rules, and entertainment nearby. We went to the new winery and really had fun there during the hot part of one day. We also enjoyed a meal at Provisions. We did lots of reading on the porch and lots of rocking. The weather was really great as it cooled off some and it was great for walking. We hope to becomes one of your regulars.

Thank you for a most enjoyable time at the beach. We are already making plans for next summer! Not only did we enjoy the sand and surf, but we spent an afternoon at the NC Aquarium and another in SC at Barefoot Landing, where we saw "Bad Company" at the House of Blues. Awesome! Our favorite thing was the view off the backporch where we sat every night and watched the ocean and thunderstorms. It was fabulous.

We had a wonderful time!! We've never been to a beach house that felt like "our house". Everything we needed was available and more! Thanks for all the brochures. We ate at the Seafood Peddler -- and it was fantastic! This was really a memorable seven days. We look forward to next summer--or maybe sooner if I can get Mark away from the ballfield. P.S. Maybe 2 weeks next year!

We really enjoyed our stay at your beach house. It's very cozy! We arrived Thursday evening and was able to enjoy the spectacular lightening show over the ocean fromthe back porch. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the weather was wonderful, the kids spent all day every day body surfing the waves at the beach. My husband Paul enjoyed himself surf fishing although his catches weren't anything to write home about. We hope to be able to get away again soon.
