This was our first trip to Maui. We were very pleased with the beautiful condo and it's location. The lanai is huge and a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The "toy cupboard" on the deck is full of beach equipment, chairs and coolers. The condo itself is also well equiped. Our daughter and her friend found the murphy bed in the living room comfy and it was great to be able to put it away during the day. We have back issues and found the very thick foamy on top of the bedroom mattress too soft, but this may work well for others. The location of the condo is right across the street from Kamaole Beach III and is a short walk or drive to several other nice beaches. Sunsets are pretty from the lanai or a quick walk across to the beach. There was a discount card attached to the gate key to allow discounts at Foodland just down the street...this was helpful in saving a few dollars. We also enjoyed the free Mai Tai night at the poolside on Wednesday with a bit of Hawaiian entertainment. There is a booking agent on site if you want to book excursions or day trips. We booked a snorkel trip with Pacific Whale Foundation. We have had better snorkeling but the boat trip was fun and we lucked into seeing both whales and dolphins. Sandi and Jim were excellent owners to deal with. She left a little gift when we arrived and there was a thank you waiting for us when we got home. We love Kauai but Maui has its own merits. When we return to Maui we will definitely book with Sandi and Jim again. Mahalo!!

Sandi's condo...just as good as ever

Another great stay in Sandi's condo has come and gone. Except for a small hiccup upon arrival, everything was perfect as usual. Mom says the new bathroom in the bedroom is lovely and a pleasure to use. Looking forward to seeing what changes may be in store for next year to the condo. I went out on a zodiac with Blue Water rafting to whale watch. Left from the Kihei boat launch which is very close to the condo (within walking distance). These guys did an excellent trip. Best to go on an early morning departure as the water is calmer. Drove around the west maui mountains, with no problem. Such beautiful scenery on this drive. Checked out the new facilties at the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, and was very interesting, and free. It opened up during our stay. We are looking forward to next year in Sandi's condo.

This was a fantastic holiday. It was the first time we've been to Maui without our kids(they're all grown up!), so we did'nt need a huge place to stay. This was perfect. Just the right size, and it had everything we needed to cook or to play. Great TV with some classic movies. The lanai is amazing. It is very roomy and so comfortable. Never used the Murphy bed, but what a good idea. Thanks for a great place to stay!!

First Visit to Maui Nov 2011

Checking in at the front desk was very easy, directions from owners well organized and concise. The feeling on walking in the door of the condo was one of warm welcome by the special touches provided by the owners and delight in the updated bedroom and ensuite. Cozy well supplied kitchen, great selection of books and movies available, and we greatly appreciated the beach equipment that was available, and the lanai was large and comfortable. We left two newly purchased life jackets as one of our party was disabled and the other elderly. Building 10 is definitely the prime building with it's proximity to the beach which was one of our main activities. Maui rocks. Definitely would return to the same beautiful unit. Compared to other units we saw (one in same building) and one in a different resort altogether, we felt we had the most up-to-date, clean, and well cared-for condo.

We just got back from 2 weeks in Maui and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The furnishings are tasteful, comfortable and of better quality than the other condos we visited during our stay. This was our 4th trip to Maui and this condo is absolutely our favorite. The grounds are beautiful with ocean and garden views and excellent access to all beaches. The cupboards were well stocked with all the cooking equipment required. Quite an assortment of spices and condiments as well. We will definitely be booking this condo again.

Amazing Condo!

This condo is amazing. It has everything you will need for your stay in Maui. The lanai is huge with ocean and garden views. The lanai closet is fully stocked with boogie boards, coolers, beach mats, beach chairs, etc. The brand new master bathroom is simply gorgeous. The decorating is beautiful and you have will no have doubt you are in are in Hawaii - the furniture is beautiful island-style furniture. The condo really felt like "home away from home". The complex itself is wonderful - right across the street from one of the best beaches in Maui. The swimming pool is huge and the grounds are meticulously maintained. There are lots of shops and some great restaurants within walking distance and everything else is just a short drive away. Sandi was fantastic to work with and is simply the nicest and most professional person I've ever done business with. All emails were promptly returned and she answered any and all questions we had. I would absolutely recommend this property to a friend or relative and wouldn't stay anywhere else when we return to Maui.

Fabulous condo!

We just retuned from a wonderful family vacation in Maui to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. The condo was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. We were impressed with all the extra's which included a stocked kitchen, a closet filled with towels, DVD's, and a lanai closet with beach goodies. My husband & I had our 15 month old son with us and his pack-n-play fit nicely beside our bed. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the newly renovated master bathroom. It was really nice having breakfast on the lanai enjoying the ocean view. Building 10 really is the best building to stay in as it is only steps from the beach. We will definitely recommend this condo to our family & friends.

Amazing Condo!

This review is long overdue! My husband and I enjoyed a week of relaxation in this wonderful location. I did not have to worry about a thing, even down to buying the sunscreen. It was all there for us. The condo was clean and nicely updated. FULLY equipped with everything you could possibly think of needing. Great location to the beach, bbq's and the pool. The lanai has a great view of the ocean, with a nice lounge chair in place - perfect for enjoying the sunsets. We've stayed in 2 other units in Kamoale Sands, and I think we've found "Maui Home" for our visits to come. We were beyond pleased with the accommodations offered. Mahalo!!!

The best condo that I have rented since I starting vacationing in Maui. The pictures did not do justice to the unit it was very comfortable with lots of amenities. The Lanai is to die for. Great view but quiet. The kitchen was very well stocked with supplies. The location is perfect,you can walk to alot of stores & restaurants and the beach is just across the street. We enjoyed Freds Mexican Cafe which we walked to. I would recommend the unit to others, in fact I just reserved for next year.

Just returned home from another vacation on Maui in Sandi and Jims Condo. Once again it was perfect. Everything you could ask for in a condo rental. It is like being in your own home. We enjoyed our breakfast on the lanai every morning, overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the ocean. We made good use of the barbeques, the pool, and the park across the street. Enjoyed 3 Mai Tai party's held on Wednesday's at pool side. The Murphy bed in the living room is great to have instead of just a sofa bed. This building and condo location is ideally situated to make use of the mostly gentle trade winds to keep the condo cool. There was no need to use the air conditioner whatsoever. We are already booked for next year, and are looking forward to our return if all goes well. Thanks Sandi and Jim for your condo rental.

Had a great Maui vacation. We felt at home in this condo. The condo is decorated and stocked with everything you need and more. The large lanai was too good to be true and we spent hours on it, enjoying the view and dining. The Kamaole Sands is very familiar to us as we have stayed there several times--was this our favourite unit so far--yes. Thanks to the owner for all her input, during our booking and our stay. We do hope to return to our new home away from home, in the very near future. There is no way to describe the beauty and tranquillity of Maui--you must go, and see for yourself. Aloha.

We had a wonderful weeks stay in your condo. It's situation in the complex is excellent - somewhat set apart and with views of the fountains and ocean. The condo itself has everything you could wish for an enjoyable stay. It's definitely a cut above and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I also liked that the complex is on the south end of Kehei, making it a little more quiet.

Our Best Vacation Ever!

Sandi & Jim - it's been a week now and we definitely miss being at your Condo which felt like home. The pictures and descriptions were as accurate as could be and we were very happy with the spaciousness of the whole unit. The information and updates you provided as we edged nearer to our trip, helped to make our entire vacation, problem-free. We found the parking spot to be most convenient to entrance and exit and in addition the cart you supplied, very handy for loading and unloading. It was so convenient to have a full kitchen, two baths (his and hers) and full laundry. Thanks also for the supply of books and movies, very handy. Our vacation in Maul consisted of a helicopter tour of Haleakala and Hana, cruise out to Molokini, day trips to Makawao, Iao Valley (Awesome), Lahaina, Makena and Hookipa. We rounded out our two weeks with a Luau at Wailea with lots of time at the beach or reading and relaxing on the Lanai. Incredible! Also, we experienced a full moon over the Pacific, unbelieveable. We are already saving for our next vacation to Maui and will absolutely be looking to rent your Condo again. We just wanted to thank Sandy for having this place available to rent. It is as described and better. The location across the street from the beach is wonderful and with all the equipment available for the guests, it was great. We had boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, ice chest and even two snorkle sets available for our use.The lanai was about 13/14ft and wonderful to enjoy the evening sunsets and ocean views. The breeze from the lanai and windows kept the place so cool we did not even use the air conditioner. The facilities of the complex, pool and office internet with printer were great. We plan on going back and had a fantastic time. Thanks......

An excellent Condo at the Kamaole Sands

Excellent Condo, was just as described on VRBO. This is the third time that we have stayed at the Kamaole Sands, and this has been the best unit so far. In fact I was so confident in this condo from the description on VRBO and with talking to the owners Sandi and Jim, that I booked for 2011 before even seeing the unit. Being in building 10, you get an ocean view and excellent sunsets, and a great view of the fountains in the garden area. We made great use of the facilities during our 16 night stay. We ate out for 4 dinners and 4 lunches, to places, Sandi reccommended. Eating breakfast every morning on the Lanai was a great start to the day. The barbeque facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend this condo and the Kamaole Sands to friends and relatives, I look forward to staying there next year and the years to come

We just got home from Hawaii and had a fabulous time in Kihei in Sandi and Jim's beautiful condo! It was everything Sandi said it was going to be and more. The beach was literally steps away and the view from the lanai was gorgeous. The grounds and pool at the Kamaole Sands were fantastic too. We will definitely go there again, and we have no hesitation in recommending this home away from home. We chose Sandi and Jim's place because of how beautiful the pictures were, and also how much information Sandi provided in the research phase of choosing a condo....an overwhelming process with so many to choose from. She was so helpful and made the booking process a snap! Mahalo!

Aloha! My wife and I truly enjoyed Sandi and Jim's fabulous condo during our 1 week stay. As young professionals who have travelled extensively for both business and pleasure using VRBO, this condo is one of the best places we've stayed and also delivered exceptional value for price. In addition to being very clean and safe, the unit has all the necessities and luxuries of home; it is extremely well stocked and very well furnished. We saw a few of our friends' rental units in Kam Sands and none were as well decorated as ours. In fact, it feels like a home away from home, except you are in a superb resort with high quality amenities. In my email and phone conversations with Sandi, I found her to be very trustworthy, friendly, reasonable, accomodating and incredibly quick to respond to my questions. I give Sandi and Jim's condo my highest recommendation to anyone who wants to stay in a fantastic place that will exceed your expectations.

well where do i start. this was the first time to maui and it was the best vacation i have ever had in my life. the condo was exactly like the pictures featured. it was beautiful and spotless. when we walked in my husband was amazed by how the condo looked he said wow this place is great, it is really nice. since you dont know what you are getting till you get there we were a little scared. we were so happy it made our trip a very memorable. the decor was very styish and up to date just like the pictures. it had everything you could possibly want or need from coolers to boogie boards to blenders.the location was awesome right across the street from the beach and many places to shop or dine right down the street. you couldnt ask for a better condo or location. the grounds and the pool area was great also even the people taking care of the pool area were very nice and helpful. at nite we would sit on the lanai and look at the beautiful water fountains that changed colors. i cant say enough about how amazing this place was. we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday there and my husband said it was the best birthday he has had in a long time. there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think about going back and i can tell you i will not stay anywhere else but at this condo. thank you so much sandi and jim for letting us share your condo. it was amazing.

This will be our 4th year in Maui and third in Jim & Sandi's unit, we would stay longer if it was available for our times, the unit is well equipped, just hang up your clothes and head to the beach. Sandi & Jim have made some great changes that really add to the island experience, Having visited friends units in Kam Sands and had them to "ours" (for 3 weeks a year) they all agree we have the nicest condo for our time in Paradise. We can't wait to see what Sandi does next!

All I can say is "WOW". This was my first trip to Maui and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. For visitors we recommend Po'olenana Beach in Wailea - safe for kids, very quiet and we saw several turtles while snorkeling. For those with some time, we find the drive up to Paia well worth it. Jaques Bistro is fantastic and a great value. Kam Sands is very family friendly and we recommend it to others. Thanks for opening up your home. Suzanne, we were glad to meet you!"

we stayed here from june 17th thru the 24th 2005. The condo was very clean and comfortable. We would reccommend anyone looking for a condo that this is one of the best. You can see and hear the ocean from the balcony. It has everything you could need while away from home. It is close to the elevator and a short walk to the pool. we will be back. :)

"Our family was here in Maui for the first time to attend our youngest son's wedding at the Four Season's Resort. We found your condo to be very colorful, spacious and clean. We hale from the suburbs of Chicago. The flight was long but well worth it to arrive in paradise. Our seven days were magnificent. Next time we'll visit for two weeks so we can really explore this beautiful island. Thank-you for sharing your home with us!"
