Are you looking for a quiet hide-away in the deep woods of northern Michigan? A place where the two of you can just relax? The "Tree House" is a unique, studio apartment that has what it takes for a great vacation. It has everything you need to enjoy life for awhile: King-Sized, Tempurpedic-style, memory foam, bed; cozy living room and kitchenette; shower; toilet; DirecTV; air conditioning; and a large deck in the tree canopy.

You are just minutes away from all that Michigan's "Little Finger" (Leelanau County) has to offer. Close to swimming beaches, wine tasting, gambling, shopping, boating, and state parks. The Tree House is located five miles north of Northport, in 42 acres of cool, quiet, mature, Beech-Maple forest. Hike miles of nature trails and watch the whitetail deer as they graze; or just relax and read a book, on the deck, while the leaves whisper to you. Leelanau peninsula is a cyclists paradise! Also, beautiful, canoe (kayak) lakes, with loons, eagles, otters, and other wildlife, for your viewing pleasure, are nearby.

Sit on the beach, at the lighthouse, to watch a summer sunset over Lake Michigan. Go wine tasting at one of Leelanau's many wineries. Swim in Lake Michigan's cool waters at Christmas Cove.   • We definitely recommend renting the Treehouse. Tom and Kathy are such generous and gracious hosts; we couldn't have asked for better. It is very clean and tidy, very peaceful and relaxing. We loved just sitting on the deck and reading or having lunch. It is a short drive from a lot of good restaurants, wineries, and beaches. If your goal is to relax or to take advantage of nature, this is your place. Next time we come, we will bring our mountain bikes and kayaks... We highly recommend renting and will be back ourselves! Thank you, Tom & Kathy for a wonderful experience!

  • We just spent a wonderful week staying at the tree house. It is very comfortable and convenient to several local attractions- Leelanau State Park, vineyards, hiking trails, beaches and shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the deck each evening reading and listening to nature. The treehouse accomodations were delightful and perfect for us and our dog Laci. She loved the trails on the property. An added bonus is that there is a peach stand within walking distance!!

  • We had a great stay at The Treehouse! Tom is a wonderful host. It's a very unique place to stay. We loved being in the forest and just sitting on the deck each morning drinking coffee. The Treehouse is also very close to Leelanau State Park hiking trails and there is a short hike through the woods and dunes to the most beautiful beach on Lake Michigan. We collected Petoskey stones at Peterson Park and went kayaking on peaceful Kehl Lake. We also took day trips to different beaches, hikes, shops, and wineries around Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay, and Leland. If you love the outdoors then you will love staying at The Treehouse.

  • What a special place! The perfect location for exploring Leelanau Peninsula's state parks and beaches with my dog, and the Tree House Studio Apt was the perfect quiet retreat provided by wonderful hosts - Tom and Kathy Larkin. I only wish I could've stayed longer! (I'm sure my dog thinks so too!)

  • The Tree House is in the midst of a woodland paradise! Private, secluded, well decorated apartment with nice amenities,and a beautiful trail system... My husband, Glenn, stayed there while I was a lighthouse keeper at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse this week. My partner keeper, Barb, and I looked forward to coming to the Tree House every night when we got off duty at 6PM. A drink on the deck and a nice dinner after a day of lighthouse keeper chores was just what we needed before heading back to the lighthouse for the night. Saw 7 deer from the deck one night. Tom and Kathy are great hosts and were kind to share their campfire with us. The Tree House is just a great place to stay. We would return without hesitation!!
