What's missing from most websites are the sounds present at the location. Warren Woods is about 50 ft from the Red Arrow Highway- the major tourist throughway for the beaches and dunes along this part of Lake Michigan. Next to the Red Arrow is a major rail line with a few cross streets. This allows the Amtrak and freight trains to blare their horns at 1130pm and later and then again as the east bound heads through at 10am! The second day a family member plopped down a 100 pack of ear plugs on the dinning room table! The bedrooms were fine and the bathrooms were fine. Rather nice actually. The beds were ok in some rooms and antiquated in others. Whatever you do don't go into the Garden Apt Rooms! Low, dark and dank. The common areas were 'rough around the edges'. There's only one gathering area and it's divided into two uncomfortable parts. Parts of the entryway were actually dangerous. Open holes in the floorboards lend charm unless you have young children or the aged wandering around. The pool was fine if somewhat shaded and the hot tub in some photos has been removed. There are better places to stay.
