Thanks, Doug. We had a wonderful time on San Juan Island, and you are right -- as beautiful as they are, the pictures posted on the VRBO website don't begin to do the house justice. You and Susan and your team did an amazing job -- every detail of the house is perfect, and the view is nothing short of spectacular. I'm astounded that you can tear yourself away from the paradise you've created to head back to the real world! On this trip we saw eagles, seals, porpoises, a camel (that was a surprise), alpacas, the exotic animals visible on the island across the sound (gazelles? antelope? big horn sheep?), dairy cows, cattle, and deer -- not bad for a weekend on an island without a zoo and within the boundaries of the continental US. The only regret we had is that we had to leave so early to make the 4:00 boat By the way, Mary and Barbara were delightful -- they were most welcoming, and helped us get into the Duck Soup Inn for dinner just under the wire on the night we arrived. November 12, 2004 Had a wonderful Mother& Daughters getaway on the Island. After enjoying the shops of Friday Harbor we had a delicious lunch at Downriggers. We arrived at your home and were imediately taken with the view. The "Spyglass" was wonderful to have. we also loved the decor - even down to the sheets! Everything was convenient & well equipped.
