"Kraus Kottage" is a beach cottage with three bedrooms, a full kitchen, and full bath and outdoor hot and cold shower. Dogs Allowed! Located on a dead-end street, this cottage is ideal for families with young children, or two families vacationing together. The separate bunkhouse has two bunk bed set ups.
We have included high speed internet, pack and play, high chair, and monitor. Parking for three cars. Three minute walk to beach, where you are half mile from busy area of beach, yet still have lifeguard. Large deck on front of house.
National Wildlife Reserve is at other end of island with breathtaking beaches, bike riding, and birdwatching. The town of Newburyport is but ten minutes drive, and is filled with quaint shops and great restaurants - from family to upscale dining.
Boutique shops as well as antique shops. Outlets in Kittery are 45 minute drive. Buses to Boston available in Newburyport. This island is a great location for families wanting to travel to a pleasant beach area, without all the tourists.

Year Purchased: 2004
Ann and Dan purchased this cottage in 2004 and completely renovated the inside of the house updating the kitchen, furniture, entertainment and internet systems.
Why the Owner Chose Plum Island
We fell in love with Plum Island through our family vacations - the charm of Newburyport and the lack of crowds on the beach (compared to the Cape). We use the house most of the time when it is available and our family and friends love it as well.
The Unique Benefits of this Beach House
The house is perfect for our 2 pre-teen boys in that they are able to go back to the house themselves from the beach and we don't have to worry about it. The beaches are perfect for early morning walks with the dog and Dan enjoys saltwater fly fishing on the bay and in the ocean.
