Rincon villa description
Florimar is a two-story villa that consists of two complete units. This listing is for the upstairs apartment. To view the downstairs apartment see VRBO listing No. 375950.
This villa is literally on the beach. It provides the perfect setting to relax, dine, read, or watch the stars at night. The apartment has its private decks and gardens with a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and mountains.
The beach is a semi private beach on serene Caribbean waters protected by a small coral reef. It is wonderful place for walking, exploring, snorkeling, etc. There are many decks facing views of the mountains, the sea, and the stars (have you ever seen a moon set) ... provides a feeling that cannot be described.
It is a very romantic and tranquil place. The spaces have been designed and utilized for maximum enjoyment of the surrounding nature. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach.
The upstairs apartment has two bedrooms, full bath, fully equipped kitchen, living room and spacious covered balcony. The living room is decorated with original murals. The master has a queen-size bed and the guest room has two twin-size beds and one full-size bed on the loft. The apartment accommodates a maximum of five people. The bedrooms overlook the ocean and have air conditioning. The bathroom floor and walls are made of travertine tiles with modern cabinets. The living room opens into a covered porch with spectacular views to both the mountains and the sea. This is the perfect place to watch morning sunrises and evening sunsets.
The upstairs apartment also has access to a private ocean front deck and garden located downstairs. The decks are perfect for a small get together with friends or just a quiet evening with that special someone. During the day listen to the waves and watch the grand pelicans flying and diving in the ocean. Take the connecting steps to the beach below or relax on the beach level deck while listening to the waves lapping at the shore in front of the villa. At night just relax, watch the stars and look for falling stars. The outdoor furniture will facilitate unforgettable moments.
The villa has easy access (5-15 minute driving) to malls, supermarkets, fast food restaurants, local and international restaurants and hotels. The villa offers a water reserve and solar water heaters.
It takes 2.0 to 2.5 hours from the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) in San Juan and 1/2 hr from Aguadilla (BQN) to Rincon. Puerto Rico is a US territory; traveling to and from, getting around, currency, etc. is no different then going to any other state.
Sorry, pets are NOT allowed. Also, smoking is not allowed indoors.

We were looking for great ocean views, privacy and lots of sq footage for indoor an outdoor living during our weeks stay. With this home we got it all! The only reason I did not give the 5 stars is because there was no King bed in the master. I would love to stay there again.

Florimar was absolutely amazing. I can't even begin to describe how fantastic our stay was. The house was clean and well kept, and had all the amenities we needed for the stay. Nothing could compare to the feeling of waking up to the sound of the waves and looking from your bed out to the sea through huge windows. The atmosphere could not have been more serene. The place is literally on the water--you look over the balcony and see the waves crashing under you. We snorkeled almost every day (by walking down some steps into the water), enjoyed dinner while watching the sunset, and saw an iguana right off the balcony. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I'm guessing that anyone visiting this page is already considering Rincon as a place to visit while in Puerto Rico, and let me just say that it was by far our favorite part of the trip. The city is really cute with some fun restaurants and beautiful beaches, and the environment is really chill. Unlike San Juan and El Yunque which were very touristy, Rincon actually felt like an escape. Do not hesitate! If you find out that this place is free when you will be in the area, book it quickly!!

Will Not Stay at this Villa Again!
Will Not Stay at this Villa Again!
Our stay at the Escape Villa was nice, but it was spoiled by an inadequate check in / check out process in which we were unfairly charged $300 for damage we didn't cause. PROS - The villa is spacious and well equipped. - There are beautiful views from both terraces and it's nice to have a grill outside. - The location is peaceful and quiet. CONS - The beach was not as we thought it would be after reading the description and looking at the pictures on the website - at least not during the time we stayed at the villa (late December). We expected an actual beach where we could lie down by the water and our kids could play. However, the water went almost all the way to the wall, leaving no room to even sit down or for our kids to walk, which was disappointing. - The biggest downside, however, was that we were charged for damage we didn't do. Three days after we checked out, we received an email from the owner saying there was significant damage to 3 leather chairs in the living room. We actually did not use those leather chairs at all during our stay (and therefore didn't notice their condition) because we ate every day on the terrace which had its own metal chairs. In addition, no inspection was done in our presence either at check in or check out, making it impossible to properly assess when the damage was caused. We explained this to the owner, but she was completely unwilling to compromise and charged us $300 for the damage, even though she had no way to prove we did it. While we enjoyed the villa, I cannot recommend anyone to stay there given how unfairly we were treated after we left. If you do decide to rent this place, keep in mind what happened to us - demand to have an inspection upon both check in and check out and make sure you point out and record all pre-existing damage!

Owner response: I have rented this property since 1998 and never had a problem with any of the guests. This guest, her mother, husband and 2 small children stayed at the house for 10 days. Same day they left, the chairs were found damaged. She was notified that the leather chairs were damaged and that I was going to send her photos. I send her the photos which shows that pieces of the leather were removed from the sides of the chairs. She did not allow any communication to discuss the issue and come to an agreement on compensation for the damages. She stated that I will be hearing from her lawyer and HomeWay. No charges has been made yet awaiting for her to allow communication. These chairs were intact at the time of check in. Damages like the ones on these chairs are very easy to notice. We clean and check the furniture after each client to make sure everything is in order. The chain of email communication with her was reviewed by HomeWay Customer Support. We did inspect before she arrived and after she left. The contract, signed by the guest, states: "Tenant acknowledges that unless Owner/Agent is notified on day of check-in of any damage or cleaning concerns, then thereafter, all damages or concerns to the property during the occupancy will be Tenants responsibility and must be reported to Owner/Agent and paid prior to departure.”
Our favorite vacation getaway!
Our favorite vacation getaway!
Thank you Teresa, this was our 3rd time staying in your villa and we can't wait to go back. It is a perfect spot, beautiful water views, spacious decks, tropical gardens and unique spaces to read a book, relax in the hammock or just take a nap. Our last trip was with friends so we booked both units and spent most of our time during the day walking the beach or sitting in chairs along the shore...we laughed, ate and drank, it was an absolute blast. Teresa had arranged for some groceries and drinks to be waiting in the refrigerator when we arrived, we grilled steak and lobster and ate on the deck overlooking the water, it was perfect. We have stayed upstairs and downstairs and they are both gorgeous...modern yet tropical...they are clean, well stocked, extremely comfortable and the huge glass doors overlooking the water really enhance the views. The local restaurants are very good too, we had dinner out several nights. We have never been disappointed and plan to visit Rincon again soon, we will book with Teresa!

You can't get any closer to the water than this property
You can't get any closer to the water than this property
Our family (2 adults 2 kids) stayed for a few nights over Spring Break and truly enjoyed the serenity of the property. After a long drive from the San Juan airport (2 1/2 hours) we weren't let down when we arrived. The detailed directions got us there and inside without a hitch. The pictures of inside were accurate and wow - what a view! Really, the outdoor spaces are what this rental is all about and I was thrilled by the snorkeling right below us - we saw lots of fish, a turtle and a moray eel without having to leave the property! I didn't realize we weren't actually going to be in Rincon having never been to PR, so we had to drive to the little beach town each day for paddle boarding and surfing. We really liked stopping at the roadside stands for the little bananas (couldn't find them when we went to the east coast) and Edwards Food Market for groceries & wine (they are so friendly in there). We ate at Shipwrecks, Tamboo Tavern on Sandy Beach (lunch/cocktails) and Mahi Mahi (in Anasco) - great plantain nachos and food...service was friendly and attentive everywhere we went. If you are traveling to the area, I would definitely recommend this property.

First, I want to confirm every word in the property description and express my deepest gratitude to the hostess of the villa. Teresa thanks a lot! We rented upstairs villa in March 2012 for old friend reunion and it was one of the best vacations in my life. Villa was so great and cozy that we did not want to spend much time outside of the villa to explore the rest of the island. The location is very private and just brilliant. We had easy access (just a few steps) to the semi-private beach and most of time it was very private because we did not see anybody at the beach. Villa has nice oceanfront covered balcony where we liked to have breakfast or dinner and enjoid sunrise or sunset. All gardens and patios are well shaded and cool even at very hot days. Listening the waves during nights was very relaxing and romantic. Ocean water was clear, especially in the morning and small coral reef was attracting for snorkeling. PS I sincerely recommend for lunch or dining local oceanview restaurant EL FOGON DE LA CURVA located in walking distance from the villa. They offer delicious food, friendly service and best price/quality ratio.

Myself and my girlfriend came across the listing when we landed in Rincon and needed a place to stay last minute (long story). We were so lucky that it happened to be available for 2 of our 3 nights in Rincon. The first night we stayed at a large hotel. What a relief it was to be out of there and stay here. It was spectacular. Teresa is the best. She happened to be in town and invited us to join her for an authentic PR meal she was cooking for 2 others staying downstairs. It was one of our favorite meals ever! We had so much fun. If you are looking for a very relaxing place that is away from it all and has everything you need.....this is it!

We stayed in the upper apartment in early January 2012 and loved every minute of it! The apartment was comfortable, safe, had everything we needed, and in a great location just outside of Rincon. The owner (Teresa) gave us detailed directions so it was easy to find. She also gave us some recommendations about activities and restaurants in the area which was helpful. It was beautifully decorated and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck each evening watching the sunset. The payment process and check in/check out was very easy. I highly recommend this villa and hope to return to it in the near future .

What a great spot!
What a great spot!
This was a great spot for a liesurely vacation. Both decks (upstairs and down) provided relaxing seating options, and the ocean was LITERALLY at our feet. The property owner was great to work with and very responsive to all of my inquiries. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to hang out and read, or a great central location to hit the beaches of Rincon and some wonderful eating places!

Our first trip to Florimar was in March 2011. I was so surprised on the beauty and functionality the villa has. Although there are two separate rentals, first or second floor, there are so many little separate decks and garden area’s that make it very private and intimate. The views are amazing and the ocean is just a few steps through a secured entrance. You feel very safe and comfortable here. My girlfriend and I have since been back in July for another stay. On the second visit this year we stayed in the down stairs villa. Both villas are amazing. We’ll be back! PS: For an extra fee we had the fridge stocked with a list we provided of food and drinks so when we arrived everything was there! Florimar is fantastic place and comparable to a nice resort. The only difference is nobody waits on you and you have total privacy.

About the owner: I am a consultant and have traveled all over the world since 1990. I have made sure that the beach villa has all the necessary details to make your vacation memorable. I enjoy having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while walking on the beach watching the sunrise or the sunset and the stars at night. At this place you can really enjoy nature and can enjoy beautiful moments. Owning this house gives us the opportunity to spend hours at the beach doing nothing if we want...and I love to be able to have this alternative.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
The first time I saw this house, I knew it was the place I wanted to spend my weekends, my life..... The incredible views of both the bay and the mountains sold us on this house. Seeing the sunrise and sunset from the balconies and decks is very special. Ah..there is no crowds! If you see 6 people within sight, it is a normal day. It is like having the beach all to yourself. We have recently remodeled our home and take great pride in keeping it in the great condition for all of our guests.
