Why the Owner Chose Silver Lake Village, Ridge
We looked at dozens of properties in Deer Valley and the Ridge at Silver Lake community stood out far ahead of every other property. Why? It is an easy 5 minute walk to the slopes of Upper Deer Valley. Upper Deer Valley also called Silver Lake is the mid-mountain area of Deer Valley and so it is much less crowded than lower Deer Valley (also known as Snow Park). Only the guests and owners in Silver Lake start out their skiing here so it is much more enjoyable to begin your ski day here. Also, there are 9 wonderful restaurants within walking distance (including Stein Eriksen's, Mariposa, and Goldener Hirsch) along with shops within the Silver Lake Village area. In Snow Park there are no restaurants to walk to and enjoy so when the slopes are closed you must drive to downtown Park City for dining.
A few other notes. Our town home is close to the slopes yet is off the main road so it offers privacy along with fantastic views of the slopes of Deer Valley. It is also an easy 1.9 mile drive down to Park City's main street. Salt Lake City is an easy 30-40 minute drive and there are many direct flights to cities around the country. This easy access was a big reason that Salt Lake City and Deer Valley hosted the Winter Olympics. Also, there are many choices for enjoying other nearby ski resorts Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons, Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, Snowbasin, Sundance, Powder Mountain, and Wolf Mountain.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
Our property is literally a 5 minute walk from the Silver Lake Village, mid-mountain slopes of Deer Valley, numerous wonderful restaurants, and the spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge. It also has plenty of space allowing our children to play outside during the winter as well as the summer (we spend two months during the summer here every year). It is very private yet so close to the mountain, downtown Park City (1.9 mile drive) and Salt Lake City International Airport (30-40 minutes).
Out townhome has been remodeled completely from top to bottom (unlike most other properties which are often quite dated). We cater to families with children (unlike most other properties in the area). We also can help our guests get access to the best ski rental equipment, discounted lift tickets and also when available we can help our guests ski with one of the worlds top skiers that currently is on the U.S. Olympic Ski Team.
One of the top Spas in the area plus wonderful dining at the Gliterand Restaurant.
Numerous retain shops, restaurants, ski equipment rental shop, ticket window for Deer Valley, Silver Lake Lodge, and the slopes of Deer Valley.
Lower Deer Valley also known as Snow Park. Most people start skiing here so it is much more crowded than Silver Lake (mid mountain of Deer Valley).
Numerous Shops and dining options located on Park City's Main Street.
Another nice ski mountain is Park City Mountain Resort. They do offer snowboarding for their guests. Only a little over 2 miles from our Deer Valley property.
A 2 1/2 minute walk from our home brings you to a ski access trail that leads to the popular Success Trail. One of the many benefits of being in Silver Lake.
A short 5 minute walk will bring you to your choice of a number of wonderful, family friendly restaurants. They include Mariposa, Royal Street Cafe (our favorite for their gourmet burgers), Goldener

Our family lives in Florida and goes to Deer Valley every March during our children's Spring Break and then most of the summer. It is our favorite place to ski in the winters and to enjoy the outdoors during the summer and fall. We hope you can enjoy our home and see why more families choose our town home than almost any other property in Deer Valley (over 90% occupancy compared to average occupancy rate of under 50% for comparable properties).

The Hering unit is very spacious and very well appointed. They have tried to make it as close to your own home environment as possible including internet, food supplie and the like. Our family thought it was among the best properties we have stayed at across many locales. There are some drawbacks, however. Though advertised as ski-in/ski-out, you have either a 7 or 8 minute walk to Silver Lake Lodge or a walk to a downhill trail from which you cannot return. I guess the definition of ski-in/ski-out may vary, but you will not be able to leave the unit and put on your skis within a few feet of the door. The larger beds were very soft, but that is, of course, a matter of taste. Finally, the management company was not as responsive as it should have been to problems. These problems combined do not make the unit at all undesirable, but one should reflect upon them before contracting.
Owner response:Our Ridge town home is an easy 5 minute walk from Silver Lake Lodge and the mid mountain slopes of Deer Valley. There is a ski access trail 2 minutes walk from our property. It is not ski-in/ski-out nor promoted that way. We do own a ski-in/ski-out residence which can be accessed on the VRBO web site as listing 68593. In regards to our mattresses they are all newly purchased and have excellent support. We did make a change in our management company for the 2007-08 ski season and the reviews from guests have been excellent.

It is a very well maintained property with lots of high-end amenities you will not find in a hotel. We had two small childrewn with us so we really enjoyed having a room full of toys, a high chair and booster seat already in the unit. Martin is very helpful in the rental process. The unit is a very close walk to the base of the ski lift in upper deer valley which we rode very day in the summer with our young kids. We loved walking over to the Stein for breakfast. One thing to note is that in the middle of the day it can get a little warm even in upper deer valley in the summer and the unit does not have AC. It is very cool at night and in the mornings so you simply sleep with the windows open to cool down.

Each summer we add more and more special children items for our guests with children to enjoy. Summertime in Park City, Utah is very special and for our family we try and come out to Deer Valley to escape the high humidity and heat of Florida. Temperatures in Upper Deer Valley average 10 degrees below that of Park City and 20 degrees cooler than Salt Lake City. Average temps in June are 60's during the day and 40's at night. That increases to 70's and 50's for both July and August. For this reason most properties do not have air conditioning. Our family usually keeps the windows open day and night and we do have ceiling fans to circulate the air as well. Consider Deer Valley in the summertime - highly recommended.

I was looking for the perfect condo for my return to Sundance in 2012 and found it here. Martin and Diorling were perfect hosts. The condo is 5 Min from Main st. Park City. It was absolutely gorgeous and one of the nicest places I had the pleasure of staying in during any of my travels. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get away for the week or weekend in Park City. I will be back next year for sure!

We stayed at this townhome last summer - June 2011 and words cannot begin to describe how beautiful, upscale, clean, and simply amazing this home is. We are seasoned travelers and this is without a doubt one of the most fantastic place we have stayed! The pictures, although great just can't begin to give you the real "picture" of what it is like to stay here. It is warm, homey, beautiful with everything you need and more. We plan to go back and rent this unit again during ski season but for all those summer travelers out there we would go back again in the summer as well. My husband and son actually skied in June and had a great time biking using the ski lifts. We can't wait to come back winter, spring and summer! We loved it more than words can say and the owner was incredibly helpful and went way beyond what was normal to help us have a great vacation. We had a great time in Deer Valley while staying at this property. It had a lot of great amenities that made our stay enjoyable. Martin was always available if we had any questions or concerns. We have skied and many places and this by far the best place we have stayed. We had 4 kids with us and we loved how close we were to the lifts - 5 min walk. Highly Recommended!!!!

This is a lovely, comfortable, excellently stocked condo just a short walk from the mid-mountain lifts, shops and restaurants. Our 2 kids loved the vast array of toys, we loved being able to cook in a well-appointed kitchen with lots of ingredients (olive oil, spices...). Martin goes out of his way to ensure that his guests have an outstanding experience. We comfortably fit 4 adults and 2 kids in the condo.

We just spent a fantastic two weeks at the Hering's Silver Lake Townhome and could not have been happier! The Ridge is a fantastic place to stay - a very short walk to the lifts, shops and restaurants of Silver Lake Village. The unit was wonderful - very well appointed, clean and perfect for our family. The condo includes so many nice touches, when we weren't on the slopes, we enjoyed our time indoors! Finally, renting from them has been a pleasure, they are always accessible and truly go out of their way to make your stay the best it could be! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
Owner response:Our goal is to make each guest's visit to our special Deer Valley town home a memorable one. We realize that there are many choices for lodging in Deer Valley and so we must offer more amenities, more personal service, fair prices and a home that is perfect for both families with children and a group of adults. We spend two months each summer adding more special touches, more items for children including many toys, games, books, dolls, etc. We stock the kitchen cabinets with everything needed so our guests can spend more time skiing or relaxing rather than shopping. While we already have high end sound system and TV's, a large DVD library, HD cable with DVR, Nintendo Wii, XBox 360, wireless high speed Internet we also just added Netflix Streaming so our guests can now access over 20,000 movies and TV shows when they want and at no cost. Find out why we our home is close to sold out during the ski season. Find out why many of our guests come back year after year. Call us today. We had an amazing time at Ridge #11. While the property isn't ski-in/out, it is a 7 minute walk to Silver Lake Lodge which was exceedingly convenient both for a skiing during the day, and dinner at night. To us, it is the most convenient place in the resort, and the Hering's place is priced SO reasonably. Add the price to the amenities they supply and you've got yourself a deal! The condo is perfectly laid out - lots of space and the vertical floorplan means that everyone has privacy. There is every a/v perk available and the furniture is very comfortable and cozy! Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us - we will definitely be back!

We stayed at the condo in Silver Lake and had the best time! The house was very comfortable - a nice oasis to come home to after a hard day of skiing. The beds were awesome and the condo is very nicely appointed. Loved the hot showers and the hot tub! Martin has thought of every last detail. Loved it!
Owner response:Guests rave about our private outdoor hot tub right outside our unit. We offer outdoor speakers there for guests to really relax after a great day of skiing. Plus for those that prefer a steam bath we have a wonderful steam shower in the master bedroom bath (plus a Jacuzzi tub in the master as well).
