Here, where the vibrant Mexican tradition, the comforts of the 21st century, and the beauty of the Sea of Cortez meet, you’ll find a hot tub on an ocean-facing terrace. That said, the experience of Casa Terrazas begins before you see the front door. Less than a block away from the waves, it is nestled in a small street, guarded amongst trees and quiet neighbors. The proximity to the beach ensures that you’ll need no car when you wish to take a stroll in the sand or visit the many traditional Mexican seafood (and other) restaurants nearby. While having the culinary and nightlife attractions within walking distance, you’ll enjoy the tranquility of this seldom-disturbed city block. The inexhaustible natural beauty of the Gulf of California begins after a one-minute walk from your front door. You’ll find white sands and boats ready to whisk you to Isla de Espiritu Santo, to go scuba diving, snorkeling, and swimming with playful sea lion cubs. When the wind stills and the sea turns into a mirror, you’ll be able to cut through it with a wakeboard or drift your way around the coast in a paddleboard. But maritime adventures are hard work! So you’ll be able to end the day watching the skies burn their way from gold to scarlet, and relaxing in the warm comfort of your terrace hot tub. The La Paz area also offers some of the best fishing for dorado, marlin, sea bass, and tuna to be found anywhere in the world. La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur, has been historically overlooked by developers as well as tourists that rush to the Cabo San Lucas/San Jose corridor. In the last few years, several major developments began construction, and in the next year or two we will see more condominiums, new homes, and green golf courses in the area. Provided the efforts of us locals and the contribution of you, our visitors, La Paz will maintain its unique character as it grows. And so, we are proud of our efforts towards sustainability, and present you with recycling services, we use natural homemade cleaning products for our housekeeping service, and provide you with artisanal natural soap. Casa Terrazas represents our vision of a future for La Paz that strives to maintain the tradition and spirit of this marvelous city while at the same time embracing a modern, ecologically sensitive worldview.

Year Purchased: 2012
About: My name is Monica. I grew up in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, and have lived La Paz for the last six years. During that time, I've grown roots into the community through educational programs and efforts to advance environmental conscience in the form of organic gardens, recycling, and sustainable water-management practices.
Why La Paz: We offer a great location, amazing views from our terrace a very cozy home. The natural beauty of the Sea of Cortez begins after a one-minute walk from your door. And after a day of exploring, what better way to relax in a third floor terrace from which you’ll see the sun disappearing beneath the dunes and sea-green mountains in the tranquil, but spectacular La Paz sunsets.
