Everyone in our group told me I made a perfect pick. Our winter vacation was a success thanks to this wonderful property. The view was great of the lake, rooms were more than spacious and fully loaded with everything that you would need. Very clean and cozy and decorated to the tee (the bear motifs were so cute). Hot tub was a hit. Since we have a boat, everyone wants to come back in the summer (personal dock). Thanks to the owners for renting such a beautiful lakefront home.

The Best Vacation Ever

Last year brought us 2 grandbabies. We decided to get a place for Christmas that would comfortable accommodate our 3 grown children, spouses and 2 babies. We wanted space for couples or individuals to be able to have alone time when needed. We didn't want to be isolated in case anyone wanted to get out and do something Raccoon Lagoon had it all. The master suite was truly a get away in itself. The bed was luxuriously comfortable. The main floor was big enough for all of us to enjoy each others company whether we were eating, watching tv or playing games. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dishes. All the bedrooms were a perfect size. The house was spotless. The downstairs had a pool table, couch and love seat and gas fireplace; also 2 bedrooms. It was a perfect place for those who needed a little peace and quiet. My daughter and I were able to do our exercise dvd down there without being heckled by the guys. The hot tub was fabulous and got plenty of use. We had plenty of firewood and much to our delight and surprise, there was a decorated Christmas tree in the great room. There are restaurants and little shops nearby. We spent a day at the ski resort. I scheduled a massage from my husband at a nearby spa and he loved it. We enjoyed everything about Raccoon Lagoon, it was our best vacation ever!

Perfect Vacation Retreat

There is nothing bad to say about this place. It is located centrally on the lake and close to everything especially the boat launch, which is right across the lake. The home is extremely well appointed and very clean. The bedrooms are all very large and very comfortable. Most importantly there are 4 large full bathrooms, which is helpful for not having to ever wait for a bathroom. You are not secluded from your neighbors though. As is mentioned, you will find that you are very close to the neighboring Raccoon Lagoon. However, the home is well built and very quiet. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this as a very comfortable stay for at least 5 couples.

Recommended for:People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Awesome Stay at Raccoon Lagoon

This is a fantastic vacation property. The house and yard are huge. The bedrooms are very spacious, especially the master bedroom, and the bathrooms plentiful. The house is very close to many of the stores and restaurants. Our group of people had an amazing time. There are boat rentals right next door. We rented a pontoon boat and speed boat for tubing. We did a lot of fishing and actually did pretty well, landing a few nice Smallmouth Bass and a number of Pickerel. The fire pit in the back yard is also a great touch. This is a great place to take a family vacation or go on a trip with a bunch of friends.

Bear Hollow was the perfect home to spend a relaxing winter weekend with friends. The location on the lake was beautiful and convenient to hiking, x- country skiing, and Wisp. The house itself is absolutely lovely and came equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable and fun. There was plenty of space for our group of 12 adults, and all of us agreed that we would not hesitate to return to this property again next year! We highly recommend it!

Our stay at Raccoon Lagoon was perfect. My friends and I came down for MLK weekend for skiing and snow tubing. We had so much fun at the house that we didn't even make it to Wisp. The full kitchen allowed one of our friends to cook amazing meals all weekend. We truly enjoyed this spacious home and its comfy feel. Everyone in our group (12) found a little area in the house and just relaxed all weekend. This was a wonderful experience and we are certainly coming back. Oh and i didn't even mention the amazing views. Thank you John and Co.

We truly enjoyed our "Christmas week" stay at Raccoon Lagoon! We had multiple generations and a friend with us (totaling 8) and our dog. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The lodge was spacious, yet cozy. The well-stocked kitchen had everything our variety of chefs needed to prepare even gourmet meals. Not too far away from the slopes and with lots of snow, we had no trouble getting to the lifts even without 4 wheel drive vehicles. We were most concerned about how clean a pet-friendly place would be and were (very!) pleasantly surprised to find everything immaculate and in excellent condition! Because Raccoon Lagoon was so clean, cozy and delightful, with beautiful snowy views of the lake, it was a great winter vacation spot even for the non-skiers!

We spent New Year's Eve 2009 at Bear Hollow and loved it. The house was immaculate when we arrived, the kitchen is a well-stocked chef's kitchen, the view is breathtaking, and there was tons of space for three families to spread out and relax. Bear Hollow surpassed our expectations and we can't wait to return.

We had a great time. Bear Hollow is a lovely house and just perfect for teenagers. We had seven with us for four nights and they made a nest on the lower level. Thank goodness for that pool table & hot tub! The big screen TV and fireplace was the perfect end to a hard day of skiing for the kids. We were so happy upstairs reading in front of our own fireplace with great views of the lake right outside. Just a perfect get away!

We walked into Bear Hollow and felt like one of the lucky families on Extreme Home Makeover. We were wonderfully surprised with everything we saw. It was larger than we expected from the pictures online, and far more lovely than we could have imagined. The "bunk beds" room alone could hold an entire young family. The master suite was huge. The kitchen was super well stocked with dishes and extras for every conceivable need or want. The landlord is very friendly and avaible by text or phone call for all questions. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our visit was over Christmas and we made good use of nearby Wisp for skiing. A summer visit would not disappoint either as the lake is right in the back yard. My personal favorite moments were watching daylight arrive on our first two mornings there: once with clear skies and sunshine, and once with the beatiful winter tones that accompanied the winter precipitation. Both mornings equally lovely. Thank you so much for making this available for families to get away and enjoy the loveliness of Deep Creek Lake.

What can I say? The cabin was perfect. It was our very first Thanksgiving away from home and it was just perfect. We got 6 inches of snow! You can't get more perfect than that! The kids took the sleds out- played games- WOW! We had so much fun! Its the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature and spend time with your family! I am looking forward to coming back next year!

Your Bear Hollow Cabin was everything we thought it would be and more. Perfect furnishings, very very clean and well appointed. Not to mention the location of this cabin. Could not be any closer to the lake and the view is unbelievable. We were most impressed by the space. Kitchen had everything and anything you could possibly imagine to cook with. Master bedroom upstairs is huge, great sitting room and master bath. We will be back!!

Definitely a Thumbs Up Weekend! Our family (17 total) planned a get together for the first time. It will be remembered at Bear Hollow & Racoon Lagoon for years to come. Plenty of room for everyone. Many comments on the decor. Very clean cabins & comfortable sleeping quarters. Our Autumn Glory Festival weekend with a breath taking view. There was plenty to do. It was nice to have fancy feasts and enjoy each others company. I believe we ALL agreed that we found a fabulous place for next year. Thank you for sharing your cabins with us.

We used this opportunity to vacation with our (8) children and their spouses, friends and it did not disappoint at all. The home was magnificent, all the accommodations and ammenities were fantastic and comfortable. The location was near everything(roadside) and also away from everything(lakeside) at the same time. My family, total of 10, stayed at the house for a week. This is a great house, fully loaded with everything you need and more. The kitchen has every utensil, appliance, pots,bowls, pans, etc. We were very comfortable at the house with plenty of space. We loved the hot tub and fire pit!!! The lake is pretty busy during the day, but we enjoyed boating around. There is plenty of activities in the area. We enjoyed golf, fishing, biking, and the mountain coaster. I would highly recommend this house. The location is great, 5-10 minutes to just about any place.

WOW!!!!!Wow!!!!!Wow!!!!!Racoon Lagoon is everything and more than the web site states. The view is fantastic. If you stand in the kitchen and look out you feel you are standing right next to the lake, that is how close you are. You will walk around everyday admiring the workmanship and detail in this house.You can relax on the deck and have a spectacular view of the lake. Many bathrooms, beds are comfortable for great sleeping and the house is very clean. I have rented many houses at the lake this is the best one I have rented. Hopefully we will be back next year.

The Bear Hollow property was absoutely stunning! The house itself was charming and everything the owners said it would be and more! It was beauifully decorated and very welcoming for a family of 12. Pleanty of room both inside and out and the view of the lake was breathtaking. Everything we needed was located close by, and my husband and I, our kids and grandkdis had tons of fun. The adults throughly enjoyed fishing, hiking, and the Wisp resort activities. The little ones had lots of fun particiating in different functions at the state park and nearby attractions. The only negative comment, we only had one week there and we wish the the weather would have been a lttle warmer to take better advantage of the lake. All in all, its a wonderful family vacation spot; I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. It was just wonderful. We had pots and pans to cook with. Most places don't have the nicer kitchen things to use like your Bear Hollow home. The girls stayed down stairs and we only saw them at meals or when we where out on the water. We called the downstairs "The She Cave". We all had a great time and stay!!!

Thanks so much for helping us make wonderful family Christmas memories at Bear Hollow. Your place is incredible and has the perfect view. Your home is warm and inviting and we all fell in love w/ it. Nothing was overlooked. I must also comment about the cleanliness. There was not a speck of dust ANYWHERE in your home and it looked brand new. The beds were comfortable, there is more than enough seating and everything was provided for us (special thanks for the gift basket.) John, Adrianne and Stacey were all awesome to deal with and were accessible during our entire stay for our crazy questions. We WILL return. What a wonderful place with a beautiful view! We spent a fun November weekend at Bear Hollow with 8 friends, 2 babies, & 2 dogs. The dogs loved the deck & the lake. The humans loved the fireplaces, huge kitchen, comfy beds, bright & clean bathrooms, and warm open living spaces. And only a 3 hr 15 min drive from DC!

This house is absolutely grogeous. Our whole family spent a week at Bear Hollow, we had a wonderful time. We had plently of room for all and the extras that are with the house were great, we had our 7 month old grandson with and they had all the things we needed for him [pak n' play, high chair, stroller]. The weather here is wonderful, 70's and low 80's. John and Adraine were very quick on answering all our questions before and after we booked our week. Everything went very smoothly. We hope to stay again in the future. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation to spend it here.

I have wanted to get to Deep Creek MD. for 10 yrs, however something always came up that it could not happen. Anyway we made it this year for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend. What can I say! I feel like I have won the lotto when I found "Bear Hollow" and John & Adraine Lutes. First, the place is a secret part of paradise that I did not want to share , However I Must, it is CLEAN, beautiful furniture, well stocked kitchens with pots, pans, silverware, plates.(You want it they have it).The view of the lake from the house will take you breath away. The dock at the house was nice to park the boats for that 5AM fishing. Then take the family out at noon on the pontoon boat for a day of fun and sun on a beautiful CLEAN lake. Now to Jon & Adraine, they are the most kind and friendly people you want to meet.They made sure all my questions were taken care of, always returned calls or emails. Gave many recommendations for things to do at the lake. They made my decision to RENT real easy. We will return to Bear Hollow many Times. They say good things come to people who wait, I waited 10yrs to get to Deep Creek and GREAT THINGS HAPPEN TO US "JOHN & ADRAINE and Bear Hollow". Thanks for making a great vacation for my family and I. Even my wife who is a beach person is telling everyone about what a great time she had, and how great Bear Hollow was. Our Family had a wonderful Winter Vacation in your beautiful home, Snow falling, a fire in the fireplace, view of the lake. Seeing snowmobiles run on the frozen lake was quite a thrill on the noon lite nights. Plenty of room to spare for all eleven of us. The house was well stocked with accommodiation: silverware, pots, pans, dishes, cookware, glasses and blankets. This will call for a return visit! Thank you owners!

Yes, you are in the heart of Deep Creek Lake when you stay at this incredible house. You can walk to the nearby boat rental! The house and its furnishings are very special--like new and with lots of charm and creativity. The windows to the lake offer a wide vista on nature. All rooms are spacious and comfortable. These owners have thought of everything. They even let us arrive early! Great to deal with!

What a wonderful vacation home to have a reunion! It was beautifully furnished, fully equipped and very spacious. The view use spectacular and we always remember our time at your lodge.
