Fig Tree Cottage.A rustic rural stone cottage with two bedrooms.It is only 45 mins.from Bergerac airport with it's direct connections to London and Paris.Ground floor kitchen and living area .First floor main bedroom,with en suite bathroom leading to top floor loft bedroom.Exterior laundry room with washing machine and second toilet and hand basin. Each bedroom has two twin beds. The kitchen is equipped with cooker, microwave refridgerator, toaster and electric iron plus all the usual ancillary equipment. Heating is by Gas . The cottage has a courtyard for sitting out and barbecuing etc,with a lockable gate which makes a safe play area for children.There is also a porch with table and chairs for eating out.The village is designated by the French government a National Historical Monument.

No development is allowed and all restoration work is tightly controlled by the office of The Architect of France. The village is situated three kilometres south of the small market town of St.Cyprien, just across the Dordogne river.Whilst it is off the beaten track and offers peace and tranquillity in the most beautiful of historical surroundings,it is ideally placed for easy access to all the points of interest in the region.

The terrain is of well wooded gently rolling hills and makes the most superb hiking country.Maps of all the footpaths in the area are available and a local walking group welcomes visitors on their weekly walks.The area is world renowned for its cuisine and fine wines,foie gras and truffles being the most notable specialities.

The village is,by car,approximately 3 mins.to the nearest public pool.4 mins.from the river,for swimming,fishing,canoeing and picnicking.6 mins.to the nearest supermarket and St.Cyprien.10 mins.from the nearest golf course.15 mins from Beynac,"The Castle in the Sky".15 mins from Castelnaud for displays of jousting and medieval weapons.15 mins. from Chateau des Milandes,the former home of the late Josephine Baker, and now a museum dedicated to her life and work, also displays of falconry.

20 mins. from the spectacular heights of Domme overlooking the Dordogne valley.25 mins.from Monpazier one of the best examples of a Bastide town in the area.50 mins.from the neolithic cave paintings of Lascaux. 1 hour from the caves of Padirac for the subterranean canoe trip. 1 hour from Rocamadour the vertical cliff face village.2 hours from the prized vinyards of the Bordeaux region.

The English owners live permanently close by and will be on hand with their local knowledge to help make your stay as enjoyable and informative as possible.The cottage is non smoking. Access to the property by wheel chair would be difficult and it is not considered suitable for the disabled.
