This fully and comfortably furnished home in the heart of the Rocky Mountain's beautiful Bitterroot Valley is 30 miles south of Missoula, a 30 miles north of Hamilton, and just 10 minutes outside charming Stevensville.
The 2200 sq. ft. house sits near the knees of the Sapphire Mountain range, with splendid views of the towering Bitterroot Mountains and the gentler Sapphires. It's spacious and welcoming, with two bedrooms on the main floor, an alcove office area and a master suite on a second floor, in a separate wing.
The alcove is upstairs from the dining room and works beautifully as an office or extra bedroom (small futon).
The fully-equipped kitchen opens onto the living/dining room and is flanked by a stunning floor-to-ceiling river-rock fireplace. A comfortable living room, access to a back porch, is an excellent room for entertaining or relaxing.
The 800 sq. ft. wrap-around porch provides a wonderful spot for relaxing, meals, sunset watching, and even animal viewing – be it the neighbors’ horses or the deer, hawks, eagles, and osprey. In the evening one can often hear a chorus of coyote in the distance.
The quaint and historic town of Stevensville (oldest in Montana) is an easy 12 minute drive away. It offers shopping, restaurants, medical facilities, a post office and ranger station, a wildlife refuge, a golf course, its own community theatre and two outstanding local breweries!
If outdoor recreation is your passion, the famous Bitterroot River and Bitterroot National Forest are close by, and the area offers plenty of opportunity for first class fishing, hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rafting, hunting, or playing tennis. You’ll also love taking trips to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, the Big Hole Valley, many natural hot springs, wildlife preserves, lakes, rivers, caves, and ghost towns.
Whether you are coming to work or play in Montana -- looking for outdoor adventure or peaceful days around the house -- you’ll love coming home to this Bitterroot Valley gem.
There is a possibility of accommodating 8-10 people total for a unique occasion, if the occasion requires it and folks want to share the queen and double beds, and use two fold-out double couches. W need to discuss this option ahead of a booking....moreless

About the owner: I'm a former New Yorker making my home in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley, in the heart of the western Rocky Mountains. I am in the publishing industry and lucky enough to travel a good deal. Renting out my home -- for a few weeks or months --and letting others get comfortable as they explore the West, is a great pleasure.
