  My husband and I came to Oahu to visit my daughter. After hours of researching where to stay and weighing the pros and cons of different places we decided on the little red house on Sunset beach. The best vacation decision we ever made! It was so nice to be able to enjoy such an unbelievable view from the comfort of a very well kept home. The property was exactly as the pictures show, if not better. We spent enough time traveling around the island to know that we were certain we were staying at the perfect place. Mimi, thank you again for sharing your little piece of paradise!

• Amazing sunsets

  Our family stayed at this beach cabin during March spring break with our two kids aged four and eight. The location, right on the beach and near Turtle Bay, Shark's Cove, grocery shopping, awesome bike baths and close to town, was ideal for us. Mornings would often find us exploring nearby sights and we'd come back to hang out on our own beach in the afternoon and enjoy a sunset dinner on the deck. The beach was fascinating for the kids - ever changing with tide pools that were newly flooded by big waves, or even flat calm, allowing us to watch the whales breach. Photographers literally came to the beach by the cabin every sunset - i think my husband liked the bikini models the best! We also saw some pretty amazing surfing just a short walk down the beach and still my eldest and his dad were able to carefully play in the waves at times. You can snorkel on the north shore in the winter....Turtle Bay is about 10 mins or less away by car, parking is free there and they have a great protected little bay. Safe even for kids to snorkel or paddle board. On one calm day my husband and I even snorkelled in Shark's Cove - a five minute walk away. The tide pools there were even better with about 30 varieties of little fish for the kids to ooh and awww over. The warm shower outside the cabin was a wonderful bonus to clean up after our adventures. The queen bed was very comfy and the cabin was well equipped and clean. Great to have the washer and drier too! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  The rental was more than expected! The front yard had a gate which led you directly to the beach just yards away. Mornings beautiful...Sunsets spectacular! House had everything you would need for a perfect vacation and if you forgot something, Haleiwa was just fifteen minutes away. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants a memorable trip to the North Shore. Thank you for such a wonderful vacation!!!

  This property was exactly as advertised and what we needed. We travel often and love having the ammenites of home as a change to a sterile hotel environment. The house was staged well and stocked perfectly for the "at home" stay we were looking for. The neighborhood was easy to navigate and the bike trail comfortable for any age. The grocery store had a great selection of products as well as prepared gourmet foods. We cooked at home almost everynight and the bar-b-que on the deck worked great. The small beach town also had wonderful good trucks and Haleiwa was short drive for an evening out. The beach was clean and friendly with amazing sunsets. The house was stocked with beach towels and chairs, as well as a small cooler. We spent every evening at sunset enjoying the neighborhood people at play on the beach, families playing football and people walking their dogs. Picture taking seemed to be a big past time as well. The north shore surfers and some of the best in the world and we spent a few hours everyday just watching them. I could not recommend this house enough, we hope to go back again for a much longer stay.

  The perfect base to explore the incredibly laid back and unnaturally beautiful part of Oahu known as the North Shore. Located just north of Waimea, the house is within walking distance to the Shark Cove snorkeling area, the Shark Cove Grill and the local Foodland, biking distance to Ted's Bakery, famous Sunset Beach and the Pipeline. We saw migrating whales from the back deck, and magnificent sunsets, while we sipped on the maitais we made at the house in the fully equipped kitchen. There didn't have to be a surfing competition for us to see great surfers on the giant waves, but there was! Wow. If you're looking for a real Hawaii experience, away from the stodgy resorts like Turtle Bay, this is a great choice.

  My wife and I stayed here and it was amazing. The beach front views are amazing, we saw whales just offshore every single day we were there. The owners are great and very relaxed. The house is newly renovated and everything is really nice. The deck is great for lounging and the beach is perfect for relaxing. We used the bikes and rode to Ted's and Foodland and Waimea. We will definitely stay here again.

  It was our second time that we stayed in this nice, red house at the beach. The view from the lanai is just perfect. Days passed by watching the big waves and every once in a while we could see whales jumping! The beach at this part of the North Shore is not that crowded and every morning we loved to stroll towards Sunset beach and check new sea shells. The location of the house is the best and it takes only couple of minutes to visit Foodland. The house is clean, convenient and well-maintained and it had all the equipments what we needed. The owners, Mimi and Michael, were very helpfull when ever we needed. Thank you M&M! And we will be back, definitely.

  I have rented with VBRO two times and this is the second time with the Ke Iki Bungalow property. The owners were prompt with responses and very pleasant to work with. We had no problems. My fiance lived at this property about 15 years ago and was very pleasantly surprised by all the additions and updates to his former property. He loved living at this beach house and we were not disappointed staying here again in June! The view is the BEST and location is supreme. You feel as if you are only one of a few people on this little beach paradise. The updates were great, the couch comfy, the view awesome, and there was everything here to make yourself feel like you were at home. One of the nicest touches we found was when we walked in the ceiling fans were on, the table set, and wine glasses at every place setting. We felt like we were welcomed guests! We most definitely will stay here again when an occasion arises!

  We stayed for a week at this wonderful house. It was very comfortable and is well appointed with everything needed to make a stay comfortable and relaxing. The location was perfect with Shark's Cove within easy walking distance and a shot distance to Foodland and a great fruit stand about a couple of miles down the road toward Turtle Bay Resort. The beach in front of the house was clean and was never crowded. Each night we were treated to the most spectacular sunsets we had ever seen.

  We stayed here for 3 nights for a quick Hawaiian getaway. Having been to the north shore a number of times before, I was very excited by not only the location but also how nicely the home is kept. It's the perfect size for two people, it's freshly remodeled and feels very well taken care of, and has unbelievably spectacular views. Being so close to Foodland, Waimea Bay, Ted's bakery, and the wonderful town of Haleiwa made our trip very special. I'd definitely love to stay here again.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
