This large updated beach home offers all of the amenities for a very fun and enjoyable vacation, holiday or family gathering. The private pool is a great place to enjoy the warm Florida sunshine and cool off after a day frolicking at the beach, shopping, golfing, fishing or boating. The spacious upper and lower covered porches offer a view of the Gulf, a place to enjoy cool sea breezes, and an all weather ability to enjoy a family or intimate cook out on the gas grill.
The large landscaped yard is a great place to stage family activities. We have added a basketball goal on the huge driveway to offer a little family fun. A new addition for the children- a SKY FORT playset. It offers all the fun for your toddlers with a fenced area for their safety. You can sit at the table next to the pool and watch your children swim or play. The next addition is a basketball goal and horseshoe pits for a little friendly competition or fun with friends and family. Each bedroom now has a 32" LCD TV and DVD. Both upstairs bedrooms had new tile floors installed. Enjoy ceiling fans in the 3 bedrooms with Kings.
Beaches are just a short walk away via the sidewalk and boardwalk. Once on the beach you will realize that their are 18 beach front lots with 9 east and west. What does that mean? Uncrowded beaches, yet walk 1000' either way and the condo's offer other people to enjoy. We often set up a sun tent or just enjoy throwing a football or frisbee. Enjoyment and relaxation options are plentiful in this family setting on the world's most beautiful beach. Waves during the summer are usually minimal unless there have been storms in the Gulf which offer swells.
Our family has enjoyed the area for over 30 years and look forward to sharing our experiences with you. The owner stays in Destin most the year and constantly wants to improve their home for your and their family gatherings and vacation. As a family member I live in Birmingham and visit often in the spring and fall when not rented and enjoy the area as it is our first visit by bringing friends old and new. Photos of pool and sky fort are deceptive - both are Very Small. View of beach ???you can see between houses across the street .Hoise was not clean... Tried to reach owner by phone, but rec'd no return call.
Owner response:The guest stayed in the house one week and essentilly had 4 complaints and we will respond to each. We have owned the house since 1986. We really resent this complaint since it is a total misrepresentation of what happended and outright lie. 1. "... pool and sky fort small", While the pool is not represented as an Olympic pool as our guest must have expected, it is a large residential pool of over 11,000 gallons. The picture of the Sky fort was taken from the marketing material off the Sam's Wholesale website. They may want to complain to them since they are misrepresenting it to all the Sam's members. The comments we get are that the kids totally enjoyed it. 2. View ".. between houses across the street". Yes, most houses like ours ACROSS the street look at two beautiful upscale houses on the beach. In conversations prior to rentals it is always a discussion of the layout of the to the beach distance and view. If the guest wants a full view of the beach they can rent either of the houses across the street for over $10,000 a WEEK. 3. ".. house not clean"... We do not live in Destin and do not know if our cleaning service did not clean it well. Yes, we do have an occasional slip-up in the many services we employ to properly maintain the house: pool service, lawn mowing service, lawn chemical treatment service, garbage pick up, house cleaning service and two seperate men to do any necessary repairs, etc.. If the house was not properly cleaned, we apologize. It would be nice to know that on the front end so the service can come and clean it instead of firing an email without a warning. 4. "...tried to reach owner .. but no response.." This is a complaint we resent the most since it is an outright lie implying we took no action and did not talk to them. They called, talked to me as an owner, and I dispachted two men we employ in Destin to go to the house on 2 or 3 ocasions to address their complaints. This probably most exemplifies the attitude of this unhappy guest in filing the response to VRBO to try and negatively affect our future rentals. We don't understand this and we invite any prospective rentors to call us to discuss any of these matters at 205.879.0913 or cell 205.215.4631.

The house was very spacious and conveniently located a short walk from the beach access. The pool was nice and large also. Unfortunately the AC was not working up to par so the first floor got uncomfortably warm,We called the service tech they came out immediately. This home could use some tlc.I would stay there again and love the area - quiet, safe and very family friendly. Thank you for a very nice stay.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.
