Elegant & whimsical luxury home on exceptionally quiet street about three blocks to one of Santa Cruz's best beaches- Twin Lakes. There are fire pits for fantastic evenings of marshmallow roasting. You can see both the towns light houses from this coveted beach. Walking distance to the harbor where you can enjoy coffee & sweets at The Kind Grind with your toes in the sand, hop on the free water taxi & eat on the dock at Aldo's then walk down to Seacliff Beach, sail on the Chardonnay or eat at the Crow's Nest & watch the boats sail in.

A 5 minute drive to the Beach Boardwalk, colorful downtown Santa Cruz or quaint Capitola Village. 10 minutes to hiking & biking in the Redwoods. 35 miles to San Jose International Airport.

Home has gorgeous concrete counters in gourmet kitchen which is all stainless steel with 2 burner Viking gas range and Jenn-air grill, Bosch dishwasher and skylights. Lovely dishes and glassware. Radiantly heated concrete floors downstairs. The living room has an oversized german tri-fold glass door that opens to the backyard- like wall disappears, bringing the outdoors in. Instant-on gas fireplace for coziness.

Both bedrooms are upstairs. Master has deck facing Schwan Lagoon, a small walk-in closet, a flat screen TV w/DVD & a custom bathroom in travertine w/mosaic glass tile & a deep jacuzzi tub with a 3/4 euro glass door & a cushy chair for reading. Guest room has comfy double bed, you can usually hear the waves & the seals from this room- it has its own pretty bathroom next door. There is a very comfortable queen sleeper sofa in living room. All linens are luxurious. Beautifully decorated, soothing environment. The backyard has Schwan Lagoon behind it. When you go to bed at night, you'll hear the ducks settling in too. In the morning you'll awake to bird songs. Catch up on your reading in the adirondack chairs, have a nap in the hammock or sit on the bench by the birdbath. There is a table & outdoor dishes for BBQ's.

We are so excited about our new home in Santa Cruz. My family and I have been Los Gatos residents for over 30 years and have always wanted a vacation home in Santa Cruz. We look forward to taking over this active rental and my daughter and I hope to serve our renters with the best quality service, just like we do our Real Estate clients.

Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz gets an average of 300 days of sun a year. The neighborhood is beautiful & quiet & allows only out traffic not in from beach. With the lagoon behind us it is even more magical & the short stroll to the beach is enjoyable. We can usually hear the waves from the house. We can leave the beach for the sanctuary of dragonfly house anytime. It's such a short walk to the beach & harbor where you can easily stay all day & lose yourself seeing boats, hearing waves, watching beach volleyball, building sandcastles, eating or drinking right on the strand & warm up by a beach fire at night- what more can you ask for?

The beach!! Reading nook, gourmet kitchen, bbq, listening to ducks, watching birds.. hmmmm hard to pick- something for old & young at heart!

We arrived for my nephew's wedding and found this charming home to stay in near the site of the wedding. Dragonfly house was a fantastic alternative to a cold, impersonal hotel room. There were 4 adults who stayed and we could not have been more comfortable. I would definitely recommend this jewel to anyone interested in staying in the Santa Cruz, CA area.

With the lagoon in your backyard and 9th not being a well traveled street, it is so quiet. We walk to the beach and the yacht harbor area and that's about it. We really go there for down time. We call it our Santa Cruz vacation home. Thank you and have a great holiday!

What memories I have looking back on my dragonflyhouse vacation late in September. The very first pleasure was a phone meeting with the warm and personable Kamara. She and her husband were able to help me decide that dragonfly house was the perfect place to stay for my daughter's wedding right down on the beach. My sisters and parents had a fantastic week and were the envy of many drop-in friends and family because of the beautiful dragonfly house! We had breakfast out back with all the glass doors open, and unlike Florida, NO BUGS, just pretty groups of dragonflies on the flower bushes. We also rode bicycles or walked to the beach every evening to watch the sailboats coming in and out at the harbor. It's truly a gorgeous spot; house, beach, and all. What a setting it was for the prettiest wedding a bride could ever ask for. terry selva, tallahassee, FL
