About the owner: I work in information technology as a user experience designer. I delight in making systems work for people. The bay area is the place where technology and people interact to invent the future.
My family and I have lived on our quiet residential street for over 20 years. It offers a great mix of quiet neighborliness with semi-urban vibrancy. I walk, cycle or ride transit to nearly everywhere I go.
My family and I live upstairs in a separate unit, where we can be responsive to guests' needs.
Why the Owner Chose Oakland: We are close to all that we need on a monthly basis -- shops, schools, theaters, museums, transit, the University of California. Even the two international airports are easy to reach on transit.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The large windows in the first bedroom bring the outdoors in. There is a view of beautiful trees and the east bay hills. The weather is gentle throughout the year.
Generations of children have learned to ride their bicycles on the nearby church/exercise lot. There are several farmers markets a few minutes away. The community is rich and diverse.
