Exceptional studio apartment in the Marais

I would highly recommend this studio to any of my friends and/or family. I loved the design and lay out of the studio, the Cinna sofa/bed is very comfortable, the shower is excellent and the kitchen makes it possible for you to cook most any meal at home. The owner was outstanding and ready to help and solve any problem at any time. The housekeeper came once a week to clean and change the linens. The apartment was spotless and easy to maintain with the help of the housekeeper. Also the apartment building is small so there is only one apartment per floor and as a result it was very quiet. The design of the apartment and the decor is simple and very aesthetically appealing. The wall colors are light and there is also plenty of light coming in from the two French windows. It also has easy access to two metro stations as well as numerous bus lines. Being close to both the Left Bank and Right Bank because I could go out the front door, turn right and walk across the river Seine, going left out the front door I could walk deep into the Marais and beyond. I stayed there for three months on a sabbatical and loved staying in the apartment. I felt completely safe and would highly recommend this apartment. The listing description is completely accurate regarding the location. After staying there I would not chose to stay anywhere else. The apartment is also a very good value in comparison to other apartments in the area. There are no additional extra fees. You pay the rental fee and no other service fees. The listing photos totally reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. As far as activites and attractions nearby, I would recommend seeing Place de Vosges, Carnavalet Musee, Pompidou Musee which are all nearby. As far as restaurants in the Marais, I would recommend, Cafe des Musees, Metropolitan, Robert et Louise, Les Philosophes, L'Ebouillante. To sum it up, in addition to the fabulous location, the beauty and efficiency of the apartment, the owner and housekeeper are fabulous and at the end of the three months I felt as though I had made two new friends. They were so accomodating and wanting to please and making sure all the time that I was doing okay. I cannot recommend this property highly enough! It is tres chic! You will not be disappointed.

Our week in Paris

We stayed for a week during a visit to Paris after 30 years. The visit was all the more enjoyable because of what this apartment offered. Location is the high point. It's in the heart of a friendly residential district with great shops, cafes and places to see. Notre-dame, Ile de la Cite, St. Germain and other places are within 10 minutes of walking. Louvre is about 20 minutes away. The place is very clean and well-appointed with all amenities you would expect in a small but comfortable place. Don't be put off by the sofa-cum-bed as it is surprisingly comfortable. Best of all everything works! Add to that the warm hospitality that Florence exudes made our stay truly remarkable. Our flight from Toronto was delayed by 6 hours but Florence made sure that she was there to greet us with a bottle of wine! She has quite an impressive collection of books and helpful information for visitors. We hope to come back and stay again and will defintiely recommend it to our friends and relatives.

This is a beautiful, comfortable well-organized appartment. It is perfectly situated--2 blocks from the Notre Dame, while still being on a quiet side street. The kitchen is wonderful, the clothes-wash machine great, and the free long-distance phone excellent!! There are also loads of guidebooks, all types, and lots of maps and transportation guides. The bed was as comfortable as ours at home, and very easy to fold up daily. The appartment was very clean and exactly like the photos. The owner manages the appartment, and she was very thorough and organized. An exceptional stay!! We highly recommend this appartment to anyone visiting Paris!!!

My wife and I realized a long-time dream recently by spending two full weeks in springtime Paris. Our visit was perfect in every way, due in no small part to our lodgings at Florence Doria's wonderful studio apartment on rue Pont Louis Philippe in the marvelous Marais. The photographs on VRBO faithfully capture the apartment's appearance - it's Parisian style and comfort, functionality and charm. However, no photograph could adequately portray the apartment's principal assets: it's incomparable location and the personality and character of its owner. The apartment is on an interesting street, with an unbelievably rich assortment of small shops (and shop windows!), nearby excellent restaurants, cafes, boulangeries, flower and wine shops, an historic church, convenient metro stations and bus stops, neighborhood markets, pharmacies and atm's, an excellent outdoor market, and, of course, the beautiful Seine. Apart from the research we'd done in preparation for the trip, we found the books in the apartment's small library very helpful in planning each day's adventures. The great surprise and delight of our trip was to meet and become friends with our landlady, Florence Doria, who not only made us feel welcome and secure, but enriched our Paris experience with her suggestions for things to see and do. We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment rental, in every respect. Merci beaucoup, Florence!

We stayed here for 2 months and wished that we could stay for another 2 years! The location is fantastic - it is in a beautiful part of town, next and within walking distance to many attractions, cafes, stores, restaurants, etc. Its location just off the main street means that it is both safe to walk to at all hours and yet quiet. The apartment itself is impeccably maintained with an amazingly comfortable sofa bed and a very functional kitchen. Florance, the owner, is a helpful and welcoming host. We would recommend this place to everyone!

Having spent 11 nights in Florence's charming apartment in October 2005, we returned for 13 nights in May, 2006. Once again we experienced the most wonderful time. The apartment is ideally situated in one of the nicest areas of Paris, filled with great shops and restaurants and steeped in history-quintessentially Parisian! There are three metro stations close by which is incredibly convenient. There is also an internet cafe just down the road(the apartment also has wireless internet connection). The apartment is extremely well equipped with every appliance you could possibly need- coffee maker, electric kettle, oven, micro wave, iron, dishwasher etc. We would not consider staying anywhere else now. Florence is always available to answer answer any questions and goes that extra mile to help you out.She is so welcoming, kind, thoughtful and generous-you feel you have made a wonderful new friend. We absolutley loved staying here and when we return we will be booking another stay in this great apartment. Feel free to phone us in Australia and ask us for more details!

Dear Florence, Thank you for making this beautifull studio avaible. I have been to Paris many times since the first visit in 1954( ! ). This was my favorite stay! The studio is perfect in many ways : - Close to everything and very convenient bus and metro stops.Your very helpful suggestions were pleasant " touches".- The market around the corner had excellent "home cooked" prepared foods as well as fresh produce. It is amazing that you were able to furnish this studio so completely and efficiently with all the comfort of home- including very fast wireless internet. Thank you too for the Batobus suggestion. That a way to enjoy a sunset ! I hope to see you again next year. Merci beaucoup!A bientôt. Eleanore Kantowski Gainesville Florida
