Casa de Balboa is a Five Star property. If this is the first time renting a vacation home... don't fret. Our guests are used to the finest accommodations. Ssshhh! Our location is a well kept secret! Unique and Caribbean like are several descriptions we have heard. Casa de Balboa your vacation homes year round! Mi Casa et su Casa!

Have the BEST of both... the beautiful Newport Bay AND the Ocean!! It doesn't get better than this!! We have one of the best views in Newport Beach!!

Casa de Balboa is located on Balboa Peninsula with ferry service to Balboa Island. The peninsula is primarily divided by one road, Balboa Boulevard, with a short block on either side with the ocean or bay.

Views! Views! Views! Unlike many ocean side properties (no view due to the width of the beach) you have amazing views day and night! The water and sand are only 30' away!

We have a premium location across from a beautiful large bay beach (Mother's Beach), with views across Newport Bay of Fashion Island and Newport Coast. The view is particularly lovely at night with city and bay lights. Watch the boats pass by from the comfort of your living room, and of course, from your large private front courtyard (which is great for outdoor dining). The courtyard is covered and walled (with beautiful gardens including star jasmine and gardenias) on both sides offering a feeling of privacy and unmatched coziness while enjoying the gorgeous full bay and beach views. It also affords front-row seating for the fourth of July Boat Parade and the world-famous Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade.

Casa 231 is a beautifully decorated lower level beachfront Casa. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms on a 50 ft wide lot (most beach lots are 25-30 wide) so you don’t have that bowling alley feel…in addition you will significantly more outdoor space.

This home was recently extensively renovated. The interiors are beautifully decorated with hand-scraped distressed wood floors through-out.

The living room is large with a wall of sliding glass doors opening to the courtyard and the beach and bay views beyond. The decor is a British Colonial meets Tommy Bahama theme. The furnishings are upscale beautiful white slip-covered sofa, chair and a half, and Martha Stewart rattan for maximum seating and comfort. There is a beautiful West Indies armoire that houses the flat-screen tv, dvd/vcr players.

The large gorgeous gourmet kitchen has all stainless steel appliances including a professional DCS range, granite counter tops, and custom cabinetry. The kitchen is open to the living room and has sit down views from the unique round granite bar area. There is a laundry and pantry off the kitchen.

There is sleeping for four in beds. The master and second bedrooms both have queen beds (Westin Heavenly pillow tops). There is a small roll-away that can be provided for a 5th guest.
Both bedrooms have built-ins in the closets (Master has a walk-in) to provide organization and more space.

The casa is painted in a neutral color, enhancing the lively furnishings and artwork. The French doors and swing-in side windows are covered with white wood blinds and open to the large rear courtyard with beautiful gardens retained by a stone covered and capped wall.

The baths, one private to the master, are all new with beautiful limestone, and beadboard (second bath).

Both bedrooms are perfectly decorated opening out to the huge rear courtyard with inviting Gardens.

In addition to our bayfront location (the water and the sand are approx 30" away!), the property is one short block from the ocean boardwalk, pier, and walking distance to many restaurants with a variety of fare including Mexican, Seafood such as the famous Crab Cooker, The Cannery, and Blue Water Grill, Italian, Sushi, and several fine dining such as Ocean Front and the Arches.

For those with children, weekly summer programs are held at our beach, such as sailing, sailing/tennis combo, kayak, and swimming (Newport Beach has won water quality control awards). Our beach, as well as our ocean beach,is tested each week.

Walk or bike to Balboa Island, Lido, Cannery area (Blue Water Grill, The Arches, Alta Cafe, and the Cannery restaurants plus small antique and other shops, and the Fun Center located near the Pavilion.

Bring your fishing poles! There is a small bay dock two doors away for fishing and loading/unloading of boat passengers. There are electric and motor boats for rent at the Pavilion. Kayaks are available for rent two blocks away next to the tot lot park with swings, slide, and jungle gym. Don't forget your tennis rackets too! Free Courts are next to the park.

It doesn't get any better than this!

Parking is not an issue. There is a garage for each Casa and plenty of metered (free at night) and non-metered parking.

During the months of April, May, June, July, August, and September Casa Balboa rents on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis only. A security deposit of $650 is required, and is refunded within 21-30 days of your check-out. We accept personal checks, wire transfers, and bank checks. Sorry, but we are not set up for credit cards.

Holiday rates may be higher, please inquire. Please add Refundable Security Deposit $650.00. Cleaning Fee $150.00. Local Tax 10%. Rates are for 4 guests $75 per additional guest.

  • It seems like life is always: 1-2-3 GO! Well not at 231 Casa de Balboa. Life is a little slower, more care free. Indulge in a frozen banana or ride a ferris wheel, lay on the beach and watch the world go by and when that is done go back to your private patio, grill steaks, have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.   • We have just returned from our vacation to Newport Beach. What a fantastic experience we had at Casa de Balboa! It is perfectly located, spotlessly clean and has everything that you could possibly need while on vacation. Our vacation prior to this one was at a 5* at Atlantis/Bahamas. While it was very nice, our stay at the Casa was so much more enjoyable. Our children take afternoon naps - but instead of being stuck in a dark hotel room for 2-3 hours, we were able to sit out on our patio, sip wine and enjoy the beach! I'm am telling you, if you are traveling with children there is simply no better place to stay. We loved being able to cook our own meals in the gourmet kitchen and then enjoy them on the patio, watching the boats go by. Pam and Greg were an absolute delight to deal with. They made sure every little thing was perfect - and those really are the things that make a vacation great. We have already booked the same week for next year!

  • Took the dogs on a week vacation... they totally loved it and we did too. The location is great, private and in walking distance to restaurants, shops, beach. Bay is a great side to be on... the most beautiful boats go by all day long. Renting a duffy boat is a must! Can't wait to go back. Thanks for the great memories!

  • Casa #231 is a beautiful place to stay and awesome location! Perfect for little ones or even w/out them. The beautiful bay is right out your patio and beach, shops, restaurants, & fun all walking distance. You feel as if your at home, it's super clean,comfortable and everything you need and more is here!! We were relaxed with no worries of our 1 & 2yr old getting out since it was fenced & they were to young to open the gate. It made our vacation!! We were so thankful we had found this Casa De Balboa!!! Home away from Home!

It was so peaceful and quiet...when the kids were sleeping, of course. We loved everything about our stay and truly were not ready to leave. I would recommend the "Casa de Balboa" to everyone.

  • Pam -- What a wonderful place to stay!! Even though we live only 50 miles away, it was a true vacation. We love the Balboa Peninsula and have stayed there many times over the years, but this was the best yet! The beds were soooo comfortable, and all the amenities were first class. We loved being able to walk to so many places. The beach and view were so special. Our great-grandchildren had a great time playing in the sand and water, with no worries for Grandma.   • Thank you very much for the wonderful Southern California experience. We were looking for a "no stress" family vacation together with our kids (14 & 12) and you delivered. The location was perfect and the accomodation exactly what we wanted. While there, we went past a couple of the other places we had considered and kept repeating how thankful we were that we had chosen Casa de Balboa. Quiet and private with a beautiful view and close to everything. Special thanks to Greg for going out of his way to pick up the jackets we had left at a restaurant and then forwarding them along to us.   • We recently spent our Spring Break at Casa de Balboa 231 and I have to say, it was the best choice we could have made. From the moment we walked into the Casa, everything was perfect! It was truly a home away from home, with the benefit of the beautiful bay in the background. We have two small boys - they were able to play in the sand, find shells and even snails on the dock, while my husband and I sat in the large front patio sipping wine and watching the boats roll by. Ahhhhh! All the the amenities were first class, the kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of beach chairs and towels and even sand toys to keep us all happy. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much for the hospitality Pam. We really did feel as if we were staying at the home of an old dear friend.
