Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: I currently live near Cold Spring and work in New York City. This home has been a place of healing for me during some very dark times. When I'm not working, I'm either riding my 3 horses, working the garden or baking and decorating cakes and cookies like a crazy person. I have degrees in Journalism and Philosophy and believe that life is a never-ending education in self development and community service.
Why the Owner Chose Cold Spring: My Petite Retreat is a home filled with positive energy and light. It has only been filled with happiness and healing during my ownership. I purchased it at a time in my life when I needed a refuge. It enveloped me and helped me blossom into the resilient person I am today. I immediately fell in love with my home's charm, character, history, sense of family and it's general positive vibe. I hope you find the same!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: When I walked into my home the first time, I was viewing it as a rental. I told the agent, I didn't want to rent it, but I wanted to buy it to make it my own. It needed much TLC, but I could see the potential in the beautiful woodwork, the charming layout and the bright airy flow of the windows. I dreamed of reading my books on the front porch while looking at Storm King Mountain through my billowing summer curtains. The charming garden, and the history behind their tending, has always captured my heart and those of people walking by. I'm proud of my home and I'm always open to share it with others.
