A great stay in a great flat in one of the best Paris neighborhoods

5 Rue Pecquay is in a great animated (and hip!) neighborhood (le Marais), yet the small street is quiet. The flat has great amenities, including laundry and internet, a nice tub (and a separate shower), and lots of character (beautiful wood ceiling beams, lots of stone, nice wood floors). You walk out in the morning and get your croissants around the corner, and there's is so much nearby: place des Vosges, Centre Pompidou, the Cite and St Louis islands. We arrived from London late on a Wednesday, and a friendly person from the rental service was there waiting for us, and quickly showed us around the apartment, setting up the wireless for us. We then just decided to walk out and explore the neighborhood and ended up stopping at one of many nearby cafes that serve typical french fare. It was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the neighborhood. It was very adequate for our needs and accomodated five of us comfortably. We were able to cook and eat in several nights and found the bathroom especially well appointed. With close proximity to markets and to the Metro, we could leave for shopping or to go anywhere in the city very conveniently.

The location of the apartment is perfect and my Mother, who has limited mobility, found it very easy to stroll to the shops and restaurants in the Marais. We also found it roomy and comfortable. However, there was a great deal of noise from the upstairs neighbours, although I suspect that this is due to poor sound insulation beteen the flats rather than the people themselves. In addition, the apartment is starting to look a little tired and needs some minor renovation/redecoration.

We loved our little apartment in Paris! It was in a great location --the neighborhood was nice and you could walk to most of the major sights in Paris. My teenage daughter loved sleeping in her loft. Having an apartment was definitely a positive experience because we felt we were experiencing the Parisian life so much more than any hotel room could ever offer. I would recommend 5 rue Pecquay to all my friends.

We stayed at 5 Rue Pecquay in late October 2009. The apartment was perfect size for our group of three adults. You do need to be reasonably mobile to climb the ladders and use the two loft sleeping spaces. Location is just excellent - on a quiet short street in a very lively and exciting neighbourhood. Close to the Metro and all the main sites in central Paris. You can walk pretty well everywhere. Excellent restaurants a few doors away, a couple of wonderful bakeries, a very high quality Italian takeout, etc, etc. Reasonably priced hi-speed internet, with free calling to Canada/US included with the internet service.

We recently returned from our stay in your apartment in beautiful Paris. The apartment was everything we expected and the check in was great and Jean Pierre even walked us by a few locations we had asked about and recommended some restaurants. One of which was great with a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower. The accomadations worked perfect for us, a family of four with two teen girls who enjoyed each getting their own loft. The only thing to be aware of is you can hear the occupants in the apartment above, but that is to be expected because of the age of the building. The amenities of the apartment well made up for a little noise above and luckily we were on the same schedule, which was to get out and see the sights and experience Paris. Merci, Victoria
