A house of great character set in a secluded rural paradise. Fontbertiere is a 17th century wine making property surrounded by hills of vineyards, pine-trees, olive trees and dry stonewalls.
A small stream runs through the grounds passing the beautiful front lawn, the many fruit trees, the vegetable garden, wooded areas and vineyards.
2 km away is Siran, an enchanting village with a food shop, bakery, two restaurants, a bar and two churches including one that dates back to the 8th century. A short drive will take you to the medieval city of Carcassonne or Minerve.
Within ten minutes drive there are delightful places to swim and sunbathe such as the lake of Jouarres or nearby rivers. Surrounding villages also offer wine-tasting, summer dances and festivals and cafes with outdoor seating.
A picturesque driveway provides ample parking under the trees. On the other side of the front lawn are barbecue, outdoor dining facilities and the main entrance which leads to a large airy conservatory. Through the glazed doors there is the large formal dining area with its fabulous fireplace and antiques which date as far back as the 16th century. |
