Fish Bone is a colorful, private, Caribbean cottage on the south side of St. John Island. It is a two-story, one-bedroom, two-bath home with a spectacular, 180-degree view of the Caribbean Sea. At Fish Bone, you can hear the crashing surf of Ditliff Point. Restaurants, shopping, music, and nightlife are in Cruz Bay, just three miles from Fish Bone. Hang out on the hammock and enjoy the deck swing. Beach towels, snorkel gear, chairs, coolers, and umbrella all provided for a day at the beach.
Fish Bone has the best star gazing on the island. In the winter, you can see the Southern Cross and the Dipper in the same sky! Experience snorkeling, hike the Fish Bay Gut (a dry creek), or explore the many trails of the National Park Service. The park covers more than half of the island, so there is plenty to explore. There is also the National Monument Underwater Park which preserves the natural waters. Fishbone is a magical place. Why the Owner Chose Fish Bay
My husband Al lived on St. John for nearly 20 years on his boat Kate! He knows the island well as he worked as a land surveyor on island. Fishbone represented the simple life one lives in a Caribbean. We chose that lifestyle and Fishbone reflected the same.
Fishbone is located on a ridge and unlike many houses receives the prevailing tropical breeze. That is attractive!
It's view is 180 degrees of the Caribbean Sea, so a salty sailor could view far to St. Croix from the deck watching sail races, boats and whales in spring.

Peace and quiet, clothing optional. Stargazing from the deck with little ambient light. Romance. Simplicity. Ease. And the best view from the outdoor shower in all of Fishbay!

You were right - Fishbone is AMAZING for dinner on the deck, sunsets and stargazing. So glad we didn't choose to stay in a resort! We will be back!

My husband and I spent one short night in Fishbone between one rental and our trip back home. We wish we'd stayed longer and will be back. The place has all you need for a two-person stay - bedroom downstairs, kitchen and living area upstairs, magnificent deck and a perfect view. Linens are luxurious and the kitchen has all one would need. The outdoor grill is top of the line -we wish we'd had more to grill! Fishbone is close to Cruz Bay but incredibly secluded (you see nobody else, at all). All of the furnishings appear brand news and are full of fun details. The place has "good karma" and color written all over it.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our second visit to St. John and Fishbone - We thought Fishbone was great BEFORE it's EVEN better! New windows, new kitchen fixtures - new furniture (yay!) Great Job! and love the comfort of the sheets and that bed. As with last year - a week seems just too short! Maybe next time we can stay longer!

My husband and I stayed at your amazing cottage for our anniversary and found it to be the perfect romantic paradise that everyone dreams of. The cottage was clean, well maintained and nicely appointed. All you need is a jeep and your groceries; both of which we ferried over from St. Thomas. We especially loved the complete and total privacy, the outdoor shower, the tropical decor, feeding and watching the birds and nearby Parrot's Beach. We enjoyed the most wonderful view we have ever seen from a rental; right from our deck where we are ate dinner every night as we couldn't bear to miss a sunset. And to wake up every morning to that view - WOW! We are now in the process of building our retirement home back near Atlanta, Georgia and have named it Fishbone North. We can only hope to capture some of the charm of the real Fishbone though I'm afraid our enlarged vacation photos will have to suffice for the view. Thank you for your vision and we WILL be back to Fishbone.
