La Maison de la Vieille Vigne is a fully restored winemaker's cottage nestled in the peaceful winemaking village of Villers-la-Faye.
The cottage is completely renovated and has been providing our guests with a cozy home in Burgundy since July 2005. It has one bedroom (with a queen-sized bed), one bathroom, and a main room with a fireplace at one end and a fully equipped kitchen at the other. There is a brand-new and very comfortable double pull-out couch in this Main Room, as well as a comfy chair for reading by the fireplace. The house is extremely quiet, as it is nowhere near any main roads.
La Maison de la Vieille Vigne dates from around 1650 or thereabouts and boasts lovely exposed rock walls and oak beams. We have been renting out another house in a neighbouring village for the past five years, and like its predecessor, La Vieille Vigne is decorated with a tasteful mix of antiques and new furniture.
The house also has a delightful private courtyard that is perfect for meals al fresco, lounging with a book, or having a little barbecue. There is ample parking around the house, and we have the property professionally cleaned between each group of guests, as well as the bed linens and towels professionally laundered and ironed.
Many of our customers come from North America or further abroad, so we take pride in equipping our houses as thoroughly as possible. Among other things, La Vieille Vigne is fully equipped with satellite TV, local guides, books, a DVD player, DVDs, Wi-Fi high speed internet on demand), a stereo, a safe, a hairdryer, bed linens, towels, and a special suprise that you will discover upon your arrival!
While the village is lovely and calm and set in the spectacular undulating countryside of the Hautes-Cotes, it is very central. Beaune - a beautiful medieval town that is the centre of winemaking in the area - is only a ten minute drive away, and the fascinating city of Dijon is thirty minutes North. Also, all of the prestigious wine-making villages of the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune such as Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, and Gevrey-Chambertin to name just a few are at your doorstep.
The village has a boulangerie just steps away from the cottage and a typically Burgundian general store, restaurant, and cafe that is definitely worth a visit.
The cottage is completely private and independent (i.e. we do not live onsite). We will of course negotiate lower prices for long-term stays. Please don't hesitate to contact us for additional information and photos. A Bientot!

"You know Franck and Laura by the warmth, charm, and good taste you walk into. It's a heartfelt embrace after the trials and tribulations of the road. The area was spectacular, the food (and wine!) sublime, and basically all we can think about now is when we can come back!"
