Our family had an amazing and memorable vacation with such ease as a result of the hospitality of this family. The unit was well decorated, comfortable, and homey (complete with family pics). Everything worked and was as described. The board games made for a fun competitive evening. Proximity to the beach was great. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed here five nights and had a great time. The condo was very clean and well supplied with everything we needed. The unit was close to one of the pools. We were also within walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. Thanks for having the binder with local info. It helped us choose restaurant locations. By the way, Mullet Bay really does serve HUGE portions. This was our first experience with VRBO and was very pleased with the outcome. We will definitely recommend to others!

I just got back from a most enjoyable stay at this condo last week. The condo was clean, relaxing, and had everything I needed. There was a great fitness facility to work out(when I felt the urge!), the pool was just steps away, and I really liked the quaint little town to visit for dinner or shopping. They also had WiFi setup in the condo for added convenience. The owners were very easy to deal with and seemed genuinely nice. No hustle & bustle here! Just sandy beaches & ice cold beverages...just what I was looking for. I will definitely be back!

Very nice owners! A well-decorated and very clean, well-maintained condo awaited us upon arrival. Great location, close to everything, plus the complex is very well-maintained, with two pools, tennis courts, playgrounds for kids, etc. We will be back...best bike-riding island ever. Thank you!

We did greatly enjoy the island and trips to places around. It is great for long bike rides and walks. The condo itself was decent but ... We have traveled using similar accomodations for years and for the 1st time were greated by not-so-clean place (coffee maker contained used filter with old coffee in it & some less obvious things were here and there). The strangest thing was that the owners charged us for spots on towels and some other nonsence. So, if you are going to use this unit, you may want to bring your own towels/sheets :). To my surprise, the refund was sent in an envelope of the company the owner works for and using their stamp machine. So, I would not recommend the condo but would absolutelly recommend the island.

Owner response:We have owned and rented this condo since 2005. This is the one and only time we have ever had to keep part of the damage deposit (a small part...we refunded the rest). The renter decided to dye her hair and use our white towels, which of course ruined them. No big deal but she took offense to our charging her. It's history now...took place quite some time ago. No hard feelings...we just wanted to tell our side. Thanks!

Unfortunately, we were greeted by an unkempt unit, which is the last thing you want to see after a long road trip to "get-away" for the weekend. The owner was quite responsive and immediately contacted his cleaning staff, even though by the time we talked with the cleaning woman we had cleaned up the major areas (made the bed, put laundry in the machine, taken the trash out, started the dishwasher, etc.). The cleaning people did come while we went out for a walk and finished up. They were very friendly, apologetic about the miscommunication and for our having been greeted in such a manner, and even supplied some handsoap & t.p., which we really appreciated. The owner also refunded the cleaning deposit, which was very fair. The location of Sandys Bottom vacation condo is excellent! About a 15 minute walk to the center of St Simons, the pier, lighthouse, etc. 3 playgrounds & an awesome beach are also in walking distance! The living and dining rooms are decorated well--very beachy and comfortable. The bedrooms, however, seemed cold in comparison with their sterile white walls. Also, the beds/mattresses are highly undesirable as they are not very comfortable and make tons of noise even with the tiniest movement. So, that was a bummer. Although the showers had good water flow, the bathrooms are in need of some sprucing up as they are both dark and dank. The showerhead in the master bath was awful as it felt like one was being sandblasted by a power washer...it could not be adjusted for a lighter spray. Fortunately, the hall bath had a showerhead with more options. There were a few minor maintenance issues that we noticed which we brought to the owner's attention. We understand that they are not on-site and at the mercy of maintenance staff to assist with these types of projects. On the plus side, the kitchen had plenty of counterspace and was very clean. The balcony was also quite spacious and offered chairs for anyone who might be interested in sitting out. Although we didn't use the pool or exercise facilities, they looked very nice and well maintained. The ducks at the pond were a bonus as our children enjoyed feeding them. All in all, Sandy Bottoms was an excellent vacation bargain & we would recommend this unit--to be so close to all of St. Simons' offerings at such a reasonable rate is fantastic. Side note: Julie (one of the owners), is a peach--I really enjoyed communicating with her!

When you own a condo and rely on a cleaning service to keep it looking good, every once in awhile something falls through the cracks...this was one of those times; the condo didn't get cleaned between renters. We have since found a new cleaning service that is wonderful. They are batting a thousand! Thanks!

Best Time Ever

Me and my family just recently stayed at Ocean Walk condos in June 2008, We had a range of ages with our group, Ocean Walk had a little for everyone. From the kiddy pool for our little one to the tennis court, basketball court, and fitness center for our teens. We loved the entire complex and it's at home feeling. The property was well maintained and the placement of the amenities could not have been better. I would certainly recommend this property to all of my friends.
