Words can't do justice to the wonderful time we had here. The home was truly beautiful in many ways. Everything inside is set to perfection. The owners are very friendly and were always available if we had any questions. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We can't wait to plan another trip there!

We've stayed at many vrbo.com properties over the past several years, but none was better than the Alexander Valley Lodge! It perfectly suited our group of 13 who flew in for a 5 day visit to celebrate a good friend's milestone birthday. Prior to our arrival, the owner was extremely helpful in answering logistics questions, and upon check in gave us a very thorough and detailed tour of the property. The home is extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable, particularly for a group of our size. We made all of our breakfasts and dinners at the house, as going out to restaurants would have been difficult with our number. We found the house well-supplied with ample dinnerware, glassware, and all manner of cookware. We lacked nothing. Also, on the recommendation of the owner, we arranged for Chef Courtman to cook dinner for us on one night, and it was nothing short of fantastic. We highly recommend him. On the final full day of the trip, rather than spend another day sightseeing, our group decided to relax at the Lodge instead. We all realized that enjoying the comforts of the home was a far better way to spend our time together. It's that nice! The location of the Lodge is extremely convenient to Highway 101, Healdsburg, and scores of area wineries. The one mile private road leading up the hill from the Highway does have a number of twists and turns, but is well maintained and relatively easy to drive if you go slowly. Parking in front of and behind the home is ample, as it easily accommodated 4 cars and an RV (driven in by local friends). In short, there's no reason NOT to stay here if your group is visiting the area.

Alexander Valley Lodge…. My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Valley Lodge for a small family reunion. We arrived late and it was dark as we drove up the drive. When we got out of the car I felt like I was standing in front of a castle. Each room I entered was so spacious and I imagined how much fun it would be to have a big group of family and friends socializing in the very interesting two level living rooms. There was even a running fountain in the living room as we entered the house. It was late so we went to sleep, but woke early because I was anxious to look around. First night sleep was short but bed was very comfortable! My first view of Northern California was out the huge picture window in the master suite. It was breath taking! I immediately took a picture and sent it to people back home. I then investigated the rest of the house and found every room interesting and decorated so uniquely. Huge, beautiful and very comfortable are a few words I would use to describe the lodge. It was a very peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable visit. Danielle and Scott are the best!

The house looks like the pictures and has great views. It's a steep climb up the hill a mile to the house which was a little scary on the drive in, but got more used to it as the weekend went on. I jogged down the hill and around Geyserville then back up the hill, so really got my workouts in. My husband drove the car down to run on flat ground (bad knees). Everything was clean, and well maintained. Danielle was so helpful with my 100s of questions before we arrived. We were in for a wedding so only at the house in the morning and late at night, which was good since there was no central a/c, and i think Healdsburg had one of it's hottest weeks in a long time. 4 out of the 6 bedrooms had a/c units, but the one I stayed in and my boys stayed in didn't have a/c and so were very warm. The ceiling fans are out of balance so just had them on low. Luckily they have a beautiful patio so we would hang out there til late at night. Danielle brought more fans to try to help with the heat, it was just a very hot week, not much you could do. The pool and jacuzzi were a nice relief from the heat. Thank you Danielle for all you did to help with the heat best you could. Hope we can come back when it is cooler in fall or spring.

A group of ten spent a week in this wonderful lodge. We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent this property again. The lodge is not a fancy place--it is a lodge-- but is extremely comfortable and roomy. The bedroom are a nice size and the living space allowed room to spread out. The patio has glorious views and the stars at night were beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners were wonderful to work with and Danielle helped us plan two days of wine tasting and made reservations for us. She also had wonderful suggestions of some things to do and see. Danielle and her husband, Scott, have a van available for their guests and Scott was our driver on our wine tasting ventures. He is a great tour guide. We did use Chef Martin two nights. Oh, definitely book him! He planned fabulous menus for us was delightful to work with. We all fell in love with him and his cooking. The other reviews are correct--don't miss the mushroom soup. However, the butternut squash soup was also fabulous. The first night we had him was the night we arrived and it was nice to settle in and not have to cook or go out. Also, Chef Martin makes a lot of food so we had plenty of leftovers for two other meals.

Our family of 14 stayed at the Alexander Valley Lodge in celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. Originally our dream was a trip to Hawaii or a cruise, however, due to my husbands declining health, a destination closer to home was necessary. Our children did the research and found this wonderful home in the beautiful wine region of Alexander Valley. With six bedrooms, spacious dining area, swimming pool, patios, and many other amenities, it was perfect for our family. We had four wonderful days together relaxing by the pool, playing games, and spending a day at Lake Sonoma. My husband and I chose to stay in the suite by the pool, which was very lovely and private. The children also planned a surprise anniversary dinner at Catelli's, a quaint Italian restaurant, in Geyserville. We were all grateful to have this special memorable time together as my husband passed away the following year. I am just now getting around to doing a memory album, and Danielle has been so kind to send me photos and brochures to add to my scrapbook. Our family will always cherish this special happy time together. I would recommend this lovely home for its scenic location, wonderful accommodations, and overall a well maintained property. Thanks Danielle for all your help in making our stay at your home an enjoyable experience.

We rented this house for a surprise birthday weekend with 6 couples. It was absolutely perfect and had everything we could have asked for. Danielle was easy to work with and provided everything necessary to get us through the weekend. This house is absolutely fabulous! It would be great for a girls trip, family get together, corporate event, etc. Anything you want is right at your fingertips. The master suite on the very top floor was huge and spacious, but also very cold. Just make sure to bring warm clothes for night to sleep in and possibly and extra blanket.

As when booking or buying anything off the computer, we questioned what we were actually getting ourselves into. It turns out, that this was one of the best vacations I have ever had, thanks to our host Danielle. The hospitality along with the accommodations rates much higher then the available 5 stars! I would highly recommend getting the inside details from Danielle on the local wineries. Hope to return back to the Alexander Valley Lodge.

Danielle- Thanks so much for renting your beautiful home to us. I have to admit, driving up to the house, we were all making jokes about what we would find, but our mouths fell open when we finally pulled into the driveway. When you rent a home off the internet, I guess there is always the possibility that someone could mislead you. All of us had a wonderful time and are trying to figure out when we can return. I trust you found everything in good order upon inspection. I felt we all tried to treat your home as if it were our own. I wondered if you were going to return my check, tear it up, or if you found something not to your liking. Our only regret is that we didn?t have more time to just relax and enjoy your home. Hope to visit again soon, Sharon

Hi Danielle! As the saying goes, "Time flies by when you're having fun!" And, that we did! My friends and I had a marvelous time in California! The road to AVL was an adventure for some, but it was beautiful with the fall colors just beginning to show. Kathy met us just as were getting out of the cars. You are lucky to have such a wonderful neighbor and friend, who happens to be your property manager, too! The pictures on your websites do not do AVL justice. Experiencing the Lodge and its surroundings first hand definitely brings about an inner peace! We all brought home such special memories of this special trip - my " next steps" into retirement. Thank you, Danielle, for all your assistance in helping to make this a memorable one, too! Until then, take care. Enjoy your family. ˜ Lenore
