A group of ten spent a week in this wonderful lodge. We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent this property again. The lodge is not a fancy place--it is a lodge-- but is extremely comfortable and roomy. The bedroom are a nice size and the living space allowed room to spread out. The patio has glorious views and the stars at night were beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners were wonderful to work with and Danielle helped us plan two days of wine tasting and made reservations for us. She also had wonderful suggestions of some things to do and see. Danielle and her husband, Scott, have a van available for their guests and Scott was our driver on our wine tasting ventures. He is a great tour guide. We did use Chef Martin two nights. Oh, definitely book him! He planned fabulous menus for us was delightful to work with. We all fell in love with him and his cooking. The other reviews are correct--don't miss the mushroom soup. However, the butternut squash soup was also fabulous. The first night we had him was the night we arrived and it was nice to settle in and not have to cook or go out. Also, Chef Martin makes a lot of food so we had plenty of leftovers for two other meals.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of 14 stayed at the Alexander Valley Lodge in celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. Originally our dream was a trip to Hawaii or a cruise, however, due to my husbands declining health, a destination closer to home was necessary. Our children did the research and found this wonderful home in the beautiful wine region of Alexander Valley. With six bedrooms, spacious dining area, swimming pool, patios, and many other amenities, it was perfect for our family. We had four wonderful days together relaxing by the pool, playing games, and spending a day at Lake Sonoma. My husband and I chose to stay in the suite by the pool, which was very lovely and private. The children also planned a surprise anniversary dinner at Catelli's, a quaint Italian restaurant, in Geyserville. We were all grateful to have this special memorable time together as my husband passed away the following year. I am just now getting around to doing a memory album, and Danielle has been so kind to send me photos and brochures to add to my scrapbook. Our family will always cherish this special happy time together. I would recommend this lovely home for its scenic location, wonderful accommodations, and overall a well maintained property. Thanks Danielle for all your help in making our stay at your home an enjoyable experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this house for a surprise birthday weekend with 6 couples. It was absolutely perfect and had everything we could have asked for. Danielle was easy to work with and provided everything necessary to get us through the weekend. This house is absolutely fabulous! It would be great for a girls trip, family get together, corporate event, etc. Anything you want is right at your fingertips. The master suite on the very top floor was huge and spacious, but also very cold. Just make sure to bring warm clothes for night to sleep in and possibly and extra blanket.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

As when booking or buying anything off the computer, we questioned what we were actually getting ourselves into. It turns out, that this was one of the best vacations I have ever had, thanks to our host Danielle. The hospitality along with the accommodations rates much higher then the available 5 stars! I would highly recommend getting the inside details from Danielle on the local wineries. Hope to return back to the Alexander Valley Lodge.Did you find this review helpful? Danielle- Thanks so much for renting your beautiful home to us. I have to admit, driving up to the house, we were all making jokes about what we would find, but our mouths fell open when we finally pulled into the driveway. When you rent a home off the internet, I guess there is always the possibility that someone could mislead you. All of us had a wonderful time and are trying to figure out when we can return. I trust you found everything in good order upon inspection. I felt we all tried to treat your home as if it were our own. I wondered if you were going to return my check, tear it up, or if you found something not to your liking. Our only regret is that we didn?t have more time to just relax and enjoy your home. Hope to visit again soon, SharonDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Danielle! As the saying goes, "Time flies by when you're having fun!" And, that we did! My friends and I had a marvelous time in California! The road to AVL was an adventure for some, but it was beautiful with the fall colors just beginning to show. Kathy met us just as were getting out of the cars. You are lucky to have such a wonderful neighbor and friend, who happens to be your property manager, too! The pictures on your websites do not do AVL justice. Experiencing the Lodge and its surroundings first hand definitely brings about an inner peace! We all brought home such special memories of this special trip - my " next steps" into retirement. Thank you, Danielle, for all your assistance in helping to make this a memorable one, too! Until then, take care. Enjoy your family. ˜ LenoreDid you find this review helpful? Danielle, We can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay in your wonderful Lodge. We visited with a total of 5 couples and had an incredible stay there. The Lodge is lovely, clean, spacious and the drive up the mountain is intense! The views from all around your lodge were just spectacular! We LOVED how at home we felt there; we had a blast. Martin was AWESOME; we tried to bring him back to Chicago with us! He is a fantastic chef! Thank you for all of your recommendations and hospitality! We can't wait to return! I would recommend staying at the Alexander Valley Lodge to anyone heading out that way! DyannDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a great time - the lodge is in a good location and easily accessible from SF. Plenty of room for a large group and all the amenities you would want, plus more. If you are looking to rent a house with proximity to the Sonoma/Healdsburg wine country, this is the place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
