We rented this house for a surprise birthday weekend with 6 couples. It was absolutely perfect and had everything we could have asked for. Danielle was easy to work with and provided everything necessary to get us through the weekend. This house is absolutely fabulous! It would be great for a girls trip, family get together, corporate event, etc. Anything you want is right at your fingertips. The master suite on the very top floor was huge and spacious, but also very cold. Just make sure to bring warm clothes for night to sleep in and possibly and extra blanket.

As when booking or buying anything off the computer, we questioned what we were actually getting ourselves into. It turns out, that this was one of the best vacations I have ever had, thanks to our host Danielle. The hospitality along with the accommodations rates much higher then the available 5 stars! I would highly recommend getting the inside details from Danielle on the local wineries. Hope to return back to the Alexander Valley Lodge.

Danielle- Thanks so much for renting your beautiful home to us. I have to admit, driving up to the house, we were all making jokes about what we would find, but our mouths fell open when we finally pulled into the driveway. When you rent a home off the internet, I guess there is always the possibility that someone could mislead you. All of us had a wonderful time and are trying to figure out when we can return. I trust you found everything in good order upon inspection. I felt we all tried to treat your home as if it were our own. I wondered if you were going to return my check, tear it up, or if you found something not to your liking. Our only regret is that we didn?t have more time to just relax and enjoy your home. Hope to visit again soon, Sharon

We had a great time - the lodge is in a good location and easily accessible from SF. Plenty of room for a large group and all the amenities you would want, plus more. If you are looking to rent a house with proximity to the Sonoma/Healdsburg wine country, this is the place.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Alexander Valley Lodge and got to experience the warm, comfortable atmosphere, breathtaking views, relaxing poolside and the incredible hospitality offered by the owners, Danielle and Scott Alexander. I look forward to staying there again and highly recommend it to all who are interested in taking in some peaceful, relaxing days and incredible views of the valley.

Hi Danielle! As the saying goes, "Time flies by when you're having fun!" And, that we did! My friends and I had a marvelous time in California! The road to AVL was an adventure for some, but it was beautiful with the fall colors just beginning to show. Kathy met us just as were getting out of the cars. You are lucky to have such a wonderful neighbor and friend, who happens to be your property manager, too! The pictures on your websites do not do AVL justice. Experiencing the Lodge and its surroundings first hand definitely brings about an inner peace! We all brought home such special memories of this special trip - my " next steps" into retirement. Thank you, Danielle, for all your assistance in helping to make this a memorable one, too! Until then, take care. Enjoy your family. ˜ Lenore

We went there as a group of eleven. There are six bedrooms, 5 baths. The rooms vary in size. Huge living area w/ big acreen TV, satellite, dvd, stereo etc. Gorgeous views of Alexander Valley out of the windows. We cooked in one night and the kitchen is pretty much fully equipped, even for the foodies in the group. The next night we had Chef Martin come in and he served us a wonderful dinner- 6 courses I think- lost count. If you do this you MUST request the mushroom soup! The owners, Scott & Danielle were fantastic and arranged for a 14 person van and took us wine tasting for two days. They are very gracious, knowledgable and professional. I HIGHLY recommend it- check out their web site- http://www.alexandervalleylodge.com

Danielle, We can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay in your wonderful Lodge. We visited with a total of 5 couples and had an incredible stay there. The Lodge is lovely, clean, spacious and the drive up the mountain is intense! The views from all around your lodge were just spectacular! We LOVED how at home we felt there; we had a blast. Martin was AWESOME; we tried to bring him back to Chicago with us! He is a fantastic chef! Thank you for all of your recommendations and hospitality! We can't wait to return! I would recommend staying at the Alexander Valley Lodge to anyone heading out that way! Dyann

Nine women from all over the country came together for a long weekend in wine country. I don't know what we enjoyed more ˜ the wine tasting or having the lodge to return to at the end of each day. The pool was so relaxing and the views were gorgeous. The home was just beautiful! Danielle and Scott, the owners, were fantastic to work with through a ton of questions getting things set up, to taking us on great wine tours! We had Chef Martin come to the house the first night and cook a fablous meal for us. The trip was perfect! Oh, and I slept as good as I can remember ever sleeping ˜ the bed was soooo comfortable! I can't wait to return!

We rented this house for a New Years Weekend with 5 other couples. Our expectations were completely unmet. The pictures look like a huge fabulous house however all of the rooms are quite small, funky, and not set up to provide a comfortable vacation experience. The place was not clean, the laundry was not done, and there were cob webs everywhere. The worst part was the tap water-- it was brown. We called the property manager when we found a wet spot in the corner of one room and they responded with "oh we tried to fix it, don't worry about it". There was dirty, mud like water on the base of each bath tub so we had to shower in an inch of standing dirty water. We called the manager to report this and they said it was normal. We considered leaving early however we had spent so much on the house we stayed. I would never recommend this to anyone. The town nearby was the only thing that made the experience-- good food and wine.

Hawaiians Waipahu, Hawai'i, USA Review Submitted: October 12. Without knowing where to begin, I would first just like to say one word - INCREDIBLE! This trip to "Wine Country" was a first for many in our party so picking the right place to stay was vital. AVL turned out to be a dream home. We were all very pleased with not only the accommodations but the unbelievable hospitality from the owner. In Hawai'i, we pride ourselves on our aloha spirit, the owner and her 'ohana (family) definitely exemplify the aloha spirit. The house lived up to our every expectation and then some. It was near enough to so many vineyards/wineries in the immediate area that it was almost unnecessary to go any further than Healdsburg. It was cozy, yet allowed great privacy to all in our party. It was rural enough where you could enjoy nature, yet close enough to everything where you weren't at a complete loss of things to do. The sound system throughout the house was awesome, the jacuzzi and pool were quite relaxing to hang out by. Coming from Hawai'i, the fire place came in quite handy during those cold October nights (50's, I know, wimps right). The views were breathtaking and made for some very good conversation over morning coffee. And lastly, the one item that made our trip (and our stay at the house) absolutely complete, was having Chef Martin come and cook for us. We made up the table (complete with name plaques and the menu), got some beautiful flowers, dressed up, played some very good dinner music, cracked open a few bottles of great wine, and had Chef completely spoil us. His cooking was amazing. We had, among other things, the crab cakes (fantastic), the mushroom soup (unbelievable, don't ask him for the recipe, it's top secret), and the pepper crusted filet (OMG). Thank you for putting us in touch with him, and mahalo nui Chef Martin for sharing your talent with us. The only complaint we had about Chef Martin, was that we didn't think to ask him to cook for us the whole week. All in all, it was indeed, INCREDIBLE! We highly recommend the AVL to anyone who might want a get away in wine country. He u'i nui keia hale. Mahalo piha a me malama nui 'ohana Alexander! Our family of 14 stayed at the Alexander Valley Lodge in celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. Originally our dream was a trip to Hawaii or a cruise, however, due to my husbands declining health, a destination closer to home was necessary. Our children did the research and found this wonderful home in the beautiful wine region of Alexander Valley. With six bedrooms, spacious dining area, swimming pool, patios, and many other amenities, it was perfect for our family. We had four wonderful days together relaxing by the pool, playing games, and spending a day at Lake Sonoma. My husband and I chose to stay in the suite by the pool, which was very lovely and private. The children also planned a surprise anniversary dinner at Catelli's, a quaint Italian restaurant, in Geyserville. We were all grateful to have this special memorable time together as my husband passed away the following year. I am just now getting around to doing a memory album, and Danielle has been so kind to send me photos and brochures to add to my scrapbook. Our family will always cherish this special happy time together. I would recommend this lovely home for its scenic location, wonderful accommodations, and overall a well maintained property. Thanks Danielle for all your help in making our stay at your home an enjoyable experience.

9 great friends met together the end of Jan 08 from all around the US for an absolutely FABULOUS weekend of relaxation, great food/wine and ambiance. Thank you Danielle! Even the torrential rains were lovely as we sat around the fireplace... and the morning view of the mountains covered with snow was amazing. Can't recommend this place enough!
