Large quiet apartment in a great location. Loved the two bathrooms.
We had a great stay in Barcelona. We appreciated the warm welcome and all the information about the neighborhood. From the apartment, we could walk or take the metro (subway) to see all the areas of the city. When in the apartment, we spent most of our time in the dining/kitchen area. Loved the large table.
The apartment was clean, bright and updated nicely including windows. We felt very comfortable and at home.
The description is accurate although the kitchen was not as well equipted as it could be if you want to cook using an oven. For example, the oven is a small microwave oven that has other cooking options. We did not try to use it other than as a microwave oven. There were no measuring spoons/cups; and the fry pan did not have a cover. These are small concerns. We enjoyed shopping in the local grocery store.
The kitchen was updated and nice with a large refrigerator and dishwasher. We got a lot of use out of the coffee pot, electric water pot, and toaster.
When the hot water did not work one day the management was quick to have the repairs made.
We strongly recommend the walking tours purchased from the information center (free with the Barcelona card) and Poble Espanyol (tourist village that gives a lot of information on architecture, history, and local crafts). Of course all the sites and museums are great. We purchased the five day Barcelona card that also gave us access to the metro.
We were not impressed with the hop on and off bus as a tour guide. It did did not give much information. We do not recommend doing the Hop on and off bus on a Barcelona card day. A mistake we made. Also note that some museums are closed on Mondays. We loved the ear buds/interpretive recordings at the tourist spots.
The shape of the apartment is like a y so groups of rooms are separate from each other. It worked very well for our group of four families. I would say great for 55+ except for the day the elevator did not work because of maintenance but I don't think that is usual. There is a step into the front door from off the street. We took a taxi from the airport to the apartment.
A great city to visit and a great apartment. We would recommend this apartment.
