About: Growing up in Florida, as a youth, I hiked these mountains and fell in love with their majesty and serenity. As I began contemplating retirement, it only took one trip back to tour the greater Asheville region to know that I'd found my destination. Until I do retire, I plan to spend every moment possible in these wonderful surroundings, but until it's permanent, I wanted to share it with as many other people as possible because I do believe the mountains are magical and have such a restorative impact on the soul. I hope you decide to spend some time in The Treehouse and I hope your experience proves me correct.
Why Waynesville: Once settled on the greater Asheville region, I began visiting all the neighboring towns because I wanted to be in the mountains, but with easy access to Asheville. After visiting the major towns in the vicinity, I chose Waynesville because of its location and its quaint thriving downtown. Then I enrolled with two different broker's sites which emailed me house listings meeting my specifications on a daily basis. Houses I liked I saved and at multiple times I had up to 30 houses in my saved folder. But as purchase time approached, we became very specific about what we wanted in a house, down to the elevation, the living/dining/kitchen great-room approach, nice master suite, fireplace, full baths, large garage, AMPLE deck, and of course, a stunning year-round southern exposure view. The property list dwindled significantly, and after visiting eight potentials, we came to this property and it quite simply met every requirement we desired. We have done some updating and plan some additional updates (cosmetic) to get an even more Treehousey feel to it, but any opportunity to look out the wall of glass overlooking the valley surrounded my those gorgeous mountains just reinforces that we made the right decision.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The great room makes up the living, dining, and kitchen areas so that entertaining is easy, all of which overlooks the beautiful mountain vista. The master suite is large with king size accommodations and separate master bath with custom walk-in shower. The two guest rooms accommodated with queen beds are ample and each has its own closet storage. Situated between the two is another full size bath. The downstairs is equipped with two sets of bunk beds (can sleep four kids or two adults/two kids - sorry, no adults on upper bunks!), a full size attached bath and a separate TV with DVD player in case the kids want to escape from the adults. Both the master suite and the downstairs loft have expansive mountain views and access to the deck on their respective levels. The split-level driveway makes access easy to each level of the house. There is a washer/dryer in the downstairs bath for your use and convenience. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, baking accessories, common spices, dishware and cutlery, and major kitchen appliances.
