Update as of March 31, 2014. We routinely repair and update the house on a regular basis. Since October, 2013, we have performed the following:
1. Spent $5,200 on Deck repairs and a new BEHR Deckover stain with new deck post caps. The deck is amazing looking now and looks brand new. 2. Installed a brand new washer and dryer. 3. Caulked and re-caulked all baseboards through out the house. 4. Replaced the Refrigerator with a brand new one with a brand new ice maker. 5. Have a contractor replacing the two kitchen vinyl tiles that are cracked and the three one foot square fireplace tiles that are cracked. (this was never really a big deal in the first place). 6. Replaced towel holders and toilet paper roll holders that were loose in the drywall. 7. Replaced the hot-tub cover with a brand new one (we do this every 4 years). 8. Replaced all blinds in the house with $3,200 worth of new blinds from next day blinds. We don't know what else to improve upon next - maybe a new birdhouse ;0
Bottom line - we have an overwhelming number of satisfied and delighted tenants who love this house and property. We satisfy 97%+ of our customers. Not bad for any business. We hope you join us in Cambridge. :0)
Bayberry Cove is the perfect Chesapeake Bay private retreat for a family vacation or a group of friends and kids to get away from it all.
It is a 5 bedroom (4 bedrooms downstairs and a large sleeping loft bedroom with full bath upstairs) vacation home with large wrap around decks, a 16' x 28' swimming Pool, a large hot-tub, pool area safety gate, and an electronic safety pool cover to insure children and pets don't wander into the pool accidentally. There are Four Full Bathrooms. Pets are welcome.
There are two large 20'x22' bedrooms on the east and west wing of the house with large cathedral ceilings. There is a large master loft bedroom in the original Geodesic dome portion of the house. The main living room area is a great room and the ceilings are 25' high. There is a large 10'x15' dining room with water views and glass windows all around the dining room table.

Most of the property lies alongside a private protected creek (2 to 4 feet deep) which is a tributary of Fishing Creek which is a tributary to the Little Choptank River. Fishing Creek is 12 feet deep at its center. We offer a pier with two boat slips on this protected private creek.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the Little Choptank River & Fishing Creek from our expansive deck and enjoy the massaging jets in our therapeutic spa year round. Peace and quiet are abundant on this property, most of all.
When you are done swimming in the pool, you can take an outdoor shower and wash the chlorine off your body with hot and cold running water in the outdoor private shower stall before drying off and going in the house.
At night, you can enjoy sitting in the hot tub with a refreshing beverage while you view the brilliant stars and milky way galaxy. There is no light pollution surrounding this property.

Great house and location
Great house and location
We really enjoyed staying here. The house is great and secluded on a beautiful and quiet part of the Choptank River. We loved using the kayaks/dingy as well as the Fire-pit, hot tub and grill. The owner was very helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. Gave us local recommendations and was available during our stay. Would certainly stay again. We didn't bring kids, but this is a very kid friendly location (well you do need to supervise due to all the water hazards)

Owner response: Mark, thank you for your business and the kind words. You're right - the water is very accessible and younger kids must be supervised or wear life jackets at all times near the water and cover the pool when no adults are around. I'm hoping to build a larger fire pit with cinderblock - a more substantial one that we can burn larger pieces of pine and dead brush;etc. Have a good summer! Cheers! SR
Beautiful Rural Retreat
Beautiful Rural Retreat
I went to Bayberry Cove in late March and the property and house were both beautiful! Although we did not have the best weather, the surroundings are pristine and gorgeous. We still braved a trip out onto the Choptank River in the kayaks provided, had an outdoor barbecue, listened to the gentle whir of the windmill (which the little kiddies were fascinated with), and got together as a family in spacious main room. Scott was very helpful when making recommendations for food in the area, which was just charming. I can only imagine how beautiful this property is in the summer and would love to go back!

Owner response: Madeline, I know that weekend the weather was horrible and rainy. I'm glad you made the most of it and still had a good time. Please remind me if you want to rent again and I'll try to give you a fair weather discount for what mother nature brought us that weekend. thank you Scott
Owners of this wonderful property could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We stayed over Christmas week and they were always easy to reach if we had any questions. After getting home I knew I had forgotten my 50 year old rolling pin! I was very upset! Scott was very understanding and went out of his way to return it to me at no expense! Just before it was shipped we left for another trip and Scott agreed to hold it for me until we returned home. He is always prompt with emails and return calls. Being the "older couple" in the group and very nervous driving in traffic Scott allowed us to come in on a Sunday to avoid heavy traffic. It was a very long trip from NH! We were so thankful! He was so good to us and made our stay perfect. We would love to stay here again.

Beautiful house and property!
Beautiful house and property!
We stayed here for several days on our business team meeting / retreat with several colleagues of mine. We spent most of our work activity in the dining room which was large and could seat all eight of us comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked and the owner's provided a water cooler with fresh spring water. The house was very warm and inviting with plenty of amenities including DISH DVRs for every TV in every bedroom and the living room. The hot tub was a great escape with the view of the stars at night. We enjoyed seeing much local wildlife including wild turkey, bald eagles, deer, and many species of waterfowl. We were told that we were the first tenants to stay here since the owners recently installed brand new blinds in every window and sliding glass door and covered the deck with a new deck paint and copper deck post caps. They look great! We all look forward to returning sometime in the future! ~Tom

I have to agree with the other anonymous post here. this house was very disappointing. we too were a large group looking for a space we could be all together. this house seemed to fit the bill. however, so many things need to be fixed that it definitely dampened our spirits. pool is great, deck is not. be careful on the wood as it is uneven and dangerous. the cracked tile in the kitchen is also a concern, and we too had ants constantly. there are also spaces underneath the bogus accessible through crawl spaces in the cement, the covers on these would not stay on and are small enough for a child to fit through but not really for an adult. concerned that a child would literally get stuck underneath the house. there is no beach....at least not to swim in or sit near. you can walk over to it to take a look, that's about it. kayaks have holes in them so be aware of that if you plan on taking them out. there are also nails sticking up where the tile meets the carpet so you def should wear shoes in the house. these are a few of the major issues. I was shocked that this home got so many positive responses once we vacationed there and saw for ourselves. the house needs a ton of work.

Wonderful long weekend
Wonderful long weekend
My brother and I rented this house to celebrate our mom's 60th birthday. Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the outdoors. We all loved crabbing and fishing off the pier, hanging in the pool and hot tub, kayaking, and watching the stars around the campfire. Our dogs especially loved the property as there was a ton of room for them to run and explore. The house is big enough and laid out in such a way that guests don't feel like they are on top of one another. The owners were very helpful and responsive. One thing that we really loved that and stood out from other houses we have rented is that the kitchen is really stocked with dishes, cookware, etc - everything you could ever need. We all had a great time!

A little disappointed
A little disappointed
We are a group of friends from college who have vacationed before in the past but with the recent addition of children (6 kids under 3), were looking to try something different. We wanted a family-friendly house with a pool and this seemed to fit the bill. While the pool was great, especially the automatic pool cover, the rest of the house was a little disappointing. Nothing that ruined our vacation, as we still had a great time being together, but for example there were broken floor tiles that were just covered up with a mat--not a big deal in normal circumstances but having so many small children it was a bit of a hassle. The ice maker was broken, and while the owners reimbursed us for buying ice, the closest stores were 15 minutes away. We also had an infestation of aunts in the dining room which again was a nuisance to deal with on vacation. I hate to be the one negative reviewer on here, but we based our decision on all of the positive reviews. The problems are correctable and hopefully the owners will address them in the off-season like they said they would. Like I said, we still had a great vacation---but we would not come back to this property.

Christmas in July
Christmas in July
We spent a glorious week at Bayberry Cove...we even put up a small artificial Christmas tree! Celebrating Christmas in July with our seven grandchildren (and their parents) was heavenly. We could be together and yet had plenty of private space for quiet time and naps. Our family is in agreement that this was the best vacation spot ever! Even with the jellyfish! We were expecting them and they simply come with the territory; but the pool is awesome and everyone swam and swam and swam some more. We did have our ski boat and several little cruises were taken. We all raved about the water cooler! Yes, imagine that, but that is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the comforts and conveniences this beautiful property provides! The only complaint anyone had was that a week wasn't long enough! Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful getaway resort with others!

The house and property are awesome! Such a relaxing time - had a good time hanging down by the dock, kayaking, catching fish and crabs! Pool was put to great use and enjoyed by everyone. Many volleyball games! Our dogs had a great time too - running around the large yard and walking into the river! House is so spacious - never feel like you are on top of on another! Kitchen had everything we needed and loved the dining area where we could all sit down and enjoy dinner together! Definitely would do it again!

A Good Time Was Had by ALL
A Good Time Was Had by ALL
Just finished our vacation at Bayberry Cove on June 29, 2013. Had a great time. We had 5 families (10 adults/5 children---4 years and under). We enjoyed the pool as well as the large yard. The guys fished, boated, and set out a crab pot (caught 2 dozen crabs). I was worried about mosquitos before we arrived, but am happy to report they were NOT a problem. Two of the bedrooms were extremely large with a double sink bathroom in each. Very spacious. The other 2 bedrooms were adequate although not near as large. The loft was also very large with a double sink bathroom...but there was no way to block out the noise as it was open directly above the living room...this was the only drawback. Wish it had been enclosed like a bedroom to lessen the noise. Shopping was convenient and the crabs we ordered one night were great. You'll have a wonderful vacation experience. Plenty of bath and beach towels...washer/dryer/dishwasher/grill/kayak--Owners friendly and helpful. A good time was had by ALL, including the 2 dogs. Secluded and quiet. I would recommend this property.

This is the ECO-Friendly investment in wind energy. See behind the house and 52' above the ground is a quiet windmill/alternator that creates electricity which helps power the house and puts energy back to the grid when the house is not consuming energy. A strong southern breeze will have this windmill humming but is relatively quiet. See SkyStream 3.7 Wind energy generator.
