Light-filled, uncluttered and clean, the Sarah Clifford Guest House is the perfect place for a peaceful retreat within blocks of the best restaurants, performance venues, historic homes, museums and shopping in downtown Charleston. The Sarah Clifford Guest House is located behind the main house on the property where the owners live. The ground floor of the Sarah Clifford Guest House has a comfortable living room with a large flat screen HDTV and Blu-ray DVD player. HD cable and wireless internet are provided. The dining room seats 4 people for an intimate dinner. A private, quiet patio for evening cocktails or morning breakfast is located right outside the dining room. The stunning kitchen has a Thermador professional 6 burner gas cook top and electric oven, a top of the line Thermador refrigerator and dishwasher, a microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, and electric hot water kettle. In the kitchen a specially made dining table seats 6 people and provides a perfect gathering place. The kitchen is fully stocked. A cozy study for private reading and a laundry room with a Bosch washer and dryer are also located on the first floor. The first floor has a convenient powder room. You'll find the 2 bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, at either end of the second floor of the Guest House for maximum privacy. One bedroom has a king sized bed and the other has a queen sized bed. Linens, including 400 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and thick cotton towels are provided along with toiletries for the comfort of our guests. An ironing board and iron are provided for your convenience. One off-street parking space, located right in front of the Guest House door, is available for the use of our guests. However, a car is not necessary to enjoy the sights, shopping, restaurants and activities offered in downtown Charleston during your stay at the Sarah Clifford Guest House. We are located within a couple of blocks of Marion Square, The Gaillard Auditorium, the South Carolina Aquarium, Liberty Square, the Aiken-Rhett House Museum, the Charleston Museum, the Joseph Manigault House, the active Upper King restaurant and shopping area, lower King shopping and the Charleston Visitor's Center. Starbucks and a dry cleaners are a half of a block away. Ted's butcher shop, a drugstore and a liquor store are within 2-3 blocks and an excellent Harris-Teeter grocery store is within easy walking distance! If you desire a nice morning or afternoon run with a view, we are close enough to the Ravenel Bridge for a scenic run or walk right where the Cooper River Bridge Run is held in early April each year. Sullivan's Island is the closest beach, a drive of about 15 minutes or less. The Willises renovated the existing houses on the property, which included the main house and a carriage house, and built what is now a third house-a guest cottage. The Willises have been in the real estate business since 1999 through their privately owned company, and have renovated several of their properties and built a country house on an island near Charleston.
