We were just reminiscing about our vacation at the ABACOS....which was no less than perfect, since we stayed at Blue Surf Cottage. The house is amazing! The atmosphere is PERFECT! Honestly- the pictures don't do justice..it's a must stay!!!! Vacation in style...just like you would dream it! The views are breathtaking....ohh The snorkeling off the beach from house is hours of entertainment. Candace and Nick have catered to every need. It's the best house on the island. We will be back!

My family of 6 just returned from spending two glorious weeks at Blue Surf Cottage. The pictures can not do it justice. The home is amazing with its comfy beds and well appointed kitchen (thermodor stove, sub zero fridge and every cooking utensil you should ever need). This is my 6th vacation to the Abacos but my first stay on Guana Cay. We found the people to be even more friendly than the other Abaco islands and recommend you pay Guana a visit. Both the property owner and our contact on Guana Cay were focused on making this vacation our best ever (which it was). We can't wait to return to this beautiful home in paradise!

My family and I agreed that the photos do not even touch on how great of a house Blue Surf Cottage is. Everything inside and out is first class. We would definitely recommend Blue Surf Cottage.

This was our first trip to Guana and what a quaint, friendly and beautiful island. My family of 5 and 4 grandparents arrived at Blue Surf Cottage and from the initial response (particularly from the ladies) the photos just didn't do the home justice. It is a spectacular home and far above many we have rented in the islands and even here in the states. The bedroom and sleeping arrangements were well thought out and the home had all of the amenities many lack. Not that we go on vacation to watch TV but the satellite was a plus with kids and the surround and stereo were fantastic for a few late night movies and piping music through the house and on the porches for our nightly cocktails and cookout. We did explore the island but spent most of our time relaxing around the house and beachcoming. Lots of cool shells and other treasures. Have to hit Nipper's a least once. Great experience even with the kids. Good atmosphere with 2 pools and the girls had their hair braided so they were entertained. The local grocery was very well stocked and had anything we needed and some things I hadn't expected. We generally bring a lot with us and does save some money but you can find just about all of it here. Cool liquor store right on the Harbour. Folks at Dive Guana were very helpful and you wouldn't believe it looking but the jetty right off the dock at the dive shop was fantastic snorkeling for the little ones and I even enjoyed it. Tons of parrot fish and a multitude of other small tropical and colorful fish, couple of rays and even a conch strolling by. Docksiders restaurant was a quick golf cart ride away (which I loved, particularly at night and they do have headlights) and the food and service were great on top of a wonderful view and atmosphere. Definitely have the hot rum cake with ice cream. Spent most nights cooking on the grill and hanging out. Blue Surf is a showplace and it's owners have insured it feels like a home away from home. Kitchen is well equipped and we took advantage of it. The separate "guest suite" needs mention as it allowed us to spread out and was quiet, comfortable and also beautifully decorated. The owners were very helpful prior to our arrival and even followed up with a phone call to make certain we received our deposit (which came quickly) and that our stay was enjoyable. I highly recommend Guana Cay to anyone considering it and we saw a number of nice homes though I'd be surprised if many could surpass Blue Surf. Will be back.

We were just looking at pictures from our spring break on Great Guana Cay in this SPECTACULAR cottage. The attention to detail in the decorating was gorgeous... just perfect in and out .... down to the conch shells on all of the steps leading into house! The pictures do not do it justice. It was comfortable, bright, clean and fun in an ideal location. It was one of our favorites on the island!

We have just returned from our stay at Blue Surf Cottage and we were so sad we had to leave! The house is amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. Everything was there that we could ever think to need, even some of our children's favorite books and games! The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was in great working order. Having visited the Abacos many times, we can say without hesitation that this house was our favorite and we can't wait to return to it's fluffy towels, luxurious sheets, and super comfy furniture! Oh, and bring your favorite CD's b/c the sound system in the house and surrounding decks is just another of it's many amazing features!! Not to mention the location was perfect and easy getting to anything else you need on Guana. Candace and Nils have a wonderful caretaker and she is always available.... so your only job is to relax on that gorgeous deck with those amazing views! Can't wait to go back!!!

We stayed here last summer and eventhough the location and the view were great, the house was in need of a good handyman. Many things did not work properly for example; the plumbing in the kitchen, the fire alarm would go off constantly while were were making dinner, the airconditioning filters had not been changed in many months, causing the airconditionaire not to cool properly. The property outside was full of debris. We spent one afternoon just cleaning around the house. It's a shame that such a nice house like this has an owner that doesnt read the guest book. All of these complaints were written by quite a few previous guest.
