From the moment you enter the giant doors of this custom, 3000+squarefoot home into the two-story foyer you will be transported into another world. Mediterranean-style architecture mixed with comfortable high-end furniture and appliances exceed all standards of holiday rentals.
This is a full-service rental. You just need to pack your personal belongs. Unlike most other rentals we supply all the rest at no extra cost to you. High speed internet and free long distance phone .Most of all you will feel pampered by the high-quality designer linens and towels as well as the quality soap products just like a five-star hotel.
This home is ideally situated four houses from the ocean with grassy path right in front of the house ,making the beach just 2 minutes walk away.Best of all you are just two blocks to Center Street Folly with its quaint stores, coffee shops, ice-cream parlors, and numerous restaurants, so there is no need to take the car when casually stepping out at night or walking the pier.
The home consists of a formal living room , and large dining annd living areas off the kitchen amazing, state-of-the-art, "to die for" kitchen with tons of granite. With an abundance of local seafood and other fresh produce, you will be only too willing to try out the professional,stove, the double ovens as well as the dual convection/microwave. The large, side-by-side refrigerator will aide you in one-stop shopping. This whole area is tiled in Italian Travertine stone that is both beautiful and worry free. This area opens out to the full-furnished, screened loggia or porch where you will find yourself surrounded by tropical trees and the singing of birds mixed in with the sound of the ocean.
To the right hall door is a large suite/fourth bedroom with queen 4 poster-bed.Here there is a full bath as well as small kitchen area and T.V This has a door to the screened porch so this area is a beautiful unit within itself if someone wants more peace and quiet.
To the left of the hall door is a living room with ample room for the whole family to gather or can be used as a secondary living space if the keeping room off the kitchen is being used by other family members.IIt has a day bed and pull out trundle for sleeping guest 9 and 10 as well as having a sofa and 2 leather club chairs and ottomans so everyone can watch TV in comfort.
.To the back of the home is the large kitchen,with 4 barstools at the counter for quick dining.Behind that is the family room with a love seat ,sofa and window-seat ,this area is ideal for watching TV and chatting while preparing meals.To the side of this is a full dining table. Beside this again is the screened porch which has enough seating for 8, both for lounging and at the second dining table .
Upstairs there are 3 more bedrooms.The Master bedroom is huge and opulent having a king size bed and plenty of extra space .The spa like bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. There are two further queen bedrooms upstairs sharing a Jack-and-Jill, beautifully tiled bathroom. The larger of these bedrooms has a great ocean view from the queen-size bed ideal for lazy days. There are TV'S .in 2 of these bedrooms ,one left without on request so Kids don't stay awake all night watching!
The most spectacular aspect of this home is the ocean-side deck, perfect for days you want to lounge and
sun without being at the beach, or for catching the cool night breezes and ocean sounds as you dine alfresco or gather with friends.
This home is for the discerning renter, a family or group who appreciate such luxury yet want the casual fun feel of Folly, mixed with the quick commute to Charleston, and all this for 1000s less similar luxury elsewhere. Last year 3 new restaurants came to Folly ,This year there seems to be even more being built all great places to eat ,have fun .Who knows what will come next year.Folly is getting bettet by the minute and all our guests adore it there !

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We were looking for somewhere we could have for a vacation home for now ,and later as a place to retire.Folly has it all ,its relaxing without being too quiet,has the beach but so much more within short distance that you could never get bored .It has all the charms of Charleston within 10 min.Its old-fashioned charm reminded us of the seaside village in Ireland where we had a home previosly.It had everything we were looking for and more.It has a real vacation feel to it yet is a living suburb of Charleston open year round.It is impossible not to relax in Folly.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This home was built in 2000 by a builder as his main home so he put in a standard unlike anything else at the beach. Its also built in such a way as to give everyone staying space and privacy so everyone staying here has a great time together and never feel on top of each other.Its just 2 minutes to the beach and 2 min to center street Folly yet on a amazingly quiet street so little traffic.We are surrounded by owner occupied homes so its incredible quiet.When you are in the screened porch all you hear is the sound of birds singing from the empty lot next door and sound of waves crashing from the ocean. After all these years we still feel it a treat to go there ourselves. We have a great team of cleaning staff and handymen so we do not have to spend our own vacations doing the work to keep the house in tip top shape as we did the first year we owned it ,so we get to be guest and enjoy Folly too!

My husband and I were both born in Ireland but have lived in the US for 20 years and are proud American citizens.we live full time in Augusta Ga where he is Dean of the Medical School .We have 2 teen boys who love to bring their friends to Folly as well as 2 Great Danes who love the beach. We love to relax and hang out in Folly where time just expands.

This home is the ultimate beach vacation rental. From the high-quality linens and bath products, to the well-stocked gourmet kitchen, it was five star luxury all the way, just as it is billed in its listing. We were so appreciative to find a pet-friendly home that was also luxurious... something that you rarely find. And the size of the home allowed all our family members to have their own rooms, and we could spread out and enjoy some relaxation without being on top of each other. This house is clean, well-stocked and comfortable. It has all the amenities you could possibly need for a beach vacation. You don't need to bring a thing! There was even a large dog crate, perfect for our golden retriever. We loved Folly Beach and the local atmosphere. The local "Lost Dog Cafe" was a perfect place for breakfast. Charleston was so easily accessible with all its lovely shops and restaurants, not to mention all the historical sites. The entire Charleston area has so much to explore, and Folly is the perfect hub for seeing it all. In short, we can't say enough about this great home and the owner's customer service. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, luxurious beach rental (with or without the family dog!).

Long Week End Vacation

We have just returned from the Most Wonderful 4 day vacation. The first ever with our adult children, spouses and grandsons. The house is so spacious, no one felt cramped or in the way of one another. The listing is very acuate and is what is stated. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and accommodating with towels, shampoo, body wash and hand soap. We really enjoyed the den and kitchen area as we could cook, talk, watch TV and just have fun being with each other. The decks off of the bedrooms are so relaxing wheather you're having your morning coffee or just relaxing and taking in the sun or reading your favorite book. If you are looking for a place that has the feel of home away from home this is the place to check out. The owner was so easy to work with and a pleasure to speak with. She sees to everything that will make your stay an enjoyable one. My husband and 2 of our grandsons went fishing from the near by pier but sorry to say they didn't catch anything. Maybe next time...... We will be recommending this beautiful home to our friends and family members. We hope to be back in the area again so we can have a longer stay.

This house is more the we could even imagine! The pictures don't do justice, it's simply beautiful! We enjoyed or stay and our 18 month old kept us on our feet the whole time! He loved the space. It was very fitting and enjoyed it. Hoping to make it an annual place to stay for our families!

We wanted a place to gather our sons, daughter, her husband and new grandson for a week away. It was our first experience renting a house. From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. We were made to feel comfortable right from the start. The friendly notes the owner left around made it easy to navigate around. It truly was a lovely home away from home. Everything we read about it on the internet was true. We all had are own space, but spent much of our time together in the kitchen as we all love to cook. What a great spacious fully equipped kitchen. The beach was only a short walk just as we were told. Definitely woild recommend this house.

The house was more than we imagined. The short walk to the beach was great with the kids. We loved the kitchen. It is truly a kitchen that you can cook in while on vacation. You do not not need to bring beach towels, chairs or kids toys with you as there were plenty to use. We will certainly try to come to Folly Beach again

This was the perfect home for my husband, our 2 1/2 year old daughter and the grandparents. Plenty of room so everyone could have their own space if they wanted. One of the nicest parts was sitting on the upper deck at night listening to the ocean. The best part, though, was being a short walk from the beach, a short walk to the pier, or restaurants. The trip to the lighthouse was breathtaking, as the owners insisted in their notes at the home that it was a must-see. They were right! Thanks to the Buckleys for sharing their beautiful home with us. We all enjoyed it, and it couldn't have been a better location for a family with a small child.

My friends and I rented this house for several days. Not only was it clean, but it was well laid out to accomodate a number of people (we had 5 adults and 2 children in our group.) The owners thought of everything! There were little notes in case we had troubles (we didn't!) and everything was neat and clean. We didn't want to leave! It was a nice little walk to the beach and to town and a short drive to Charleston. Not only that, there were several nice groceries stores within a short drive and we were not limited only to Folly Beach for supplies. LOTS of parking, LOTS of SPACE to relax and have a great time (which, we DID!) LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it and can't wait to come back again!

We held a girls weekend at the house - 6 of us and it was perfect! great house for hanging out in - loved the kitchen for cooking ! We were all very comfy in our beds and baths . Loved being able to walk to music and margaritas from the house. Enjoyed our long walks on the beach. It was just perfect - we plan on booking again for our girls weekend next year!

Great Rental for a Week at the Beach!

As we planned for a family week at Folly Beach, my daughter-in-law wondered if we would have to take our own linens (she was familiar with rentals that don't provide them) and I wondered if the property was really as beautiful as the pictures (Photoshop can do amazing things). The reality delighted us all. The property is beautiful and spacious. The pictures were true! The cleaning crew had done a great job. The house was spotless. Coming from different parts of the country, we had four vehicles and had wondered about parking space. There was plenty of space in back and in the garage. As for things provided, not only were there linens and great fluffly bath towels, there were beach towels, floats, bikes, kites, sun visors, tennis racquets, even toys for the dogs -- I was amazed at all the extras that were provided. Accessing the front door with a combination relieved us of having to carry a key to the beach or wondering who had the key. It was a great convenience. One reason we had chosen this rental was because the owners allowed dogs, and we like to take our dogs with us. The requirement to keep the dogs on the first floor was not a problem. The kitchen, living rooms, were all on the first floor, and a gate on the stairway made it easy to keep the dogs downstairs. The owners had given lots of information about local places to eat, and they were only a phone call away if we had problems (we didn't) or questions. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone. In fact, we're hoping our schedules will allow us to get together there ourselves in 2011. It's a rental that exceeded our expectations!
