This is a beautiful house with a great location! Very short walk to the beach, right by Bert's market, the pier, etc. The entire process was very easy and straightforward. Great to work with and was a wonderful vacation! Has everything you could need.

We spent four sunny February days in this lovely home. Weather cooperated for an outdoor b'day celebration with plenty of views in every direction, fresh seafood, and friends. The house was very clean and well-designed. We would definitely return.

We have just returned from the Most Wonderful 4 day vacation. The first ever with our adult children, spouses and grandsons. The house is so spacious, no one felt cramped or in the way of one another. The listing is very acuate and is what is stated. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and accommodating with towels, shampoo, body wash and hand soap. We really enjoyed the den and kitchen area as we could cook, talk, watch TV and just have fun being with each other. The decks off of the bedrooms are so relaxing wheather you're having your morning coffee or just relaxing and taking in the sun or reading your favorite book. If you are looking for a place that has the feel of home away from home this is the place to check out. The owner was so easy to work with and a pleasure to speak with. She sees to everything that will make your stay an enjoyable one. My husband and 2 of our grandsons went fishing from the near by pier but sorry to say they didn't catch anything. Maybe next time...... We will be recommending this beautiful home to our friends and family members. We hope to be back in the area again so we can have a longer stay.

We wanted a place to gather our sons, daughter, her husband and new grandson for a week away. It was our first experience renting a house. From the moment we arrived we were in heaven. We were made to feel comfortable right from the start. The friendly notes the owner left around made it easy to navigate around. It truly was a lovely home away from home. Everything we read about it on the internet was true. We all had are own space, but spent much of our time together in the kitchen as we all love to cook. What a great spacious fully equipped kitchen. The beach was only a short walk just as we were told. Definitely woild recommend this house.

The house was more than we imagined. The short walk to the beach was great with the kids. We loved the kitchen. It is truly a kitchen that you can cook in while on vacation. You do not not need to bring beach towels, chairs or kids toys with you as there were plenty to use. We will certainly try to come to Folly Beach again

This was the perfect home for my husband, our 2 1/2 year old daughter and the grandparents. Plenty of room so everyone could have their own space if they wanted. One of the nicest parts was sitting on the upper deck at night listening to the ocean. The best part, though, was being a short walk from the beach, a short walk to the pier, or restaurants. The trip to the lighthouse was breathtaking, as the owners insisted in their notes at the home that it was a must-see. They were right! Thanks to the Buckleys for sharing their beautiful home with us. We all enjoyed it, and it couldn't have been a better location for a family with a small child.

My friends and I rented this house for several days. Not only was it clean, but it was well laid out to accomodate a number of people (we had 5 adults and 2 children in our group.) The owners thought of everything! There were little notes in case we had troubles (we didn't!) and everything was neat and clean. We didn't want to leave! It was a nice little walk to the beach and to town and a short drive to Charleston. Not only that, there were several nice groceries stores within a short drive and we were not limited only to Folly Beach for supplies. LOTS of parking, LOTS of SPACE to relax and have a great time (which, we DID!) LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it and can't wait to come back again!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind review.I go to great lengths trying to provide a house that will be perfect for my guests, sometimes I wonder if they notice the extra time and details I put in then I get a nice review like yours and its worth all the extra work ,thank you ,you made my day ,Leonie

As we planned for a family week at Folly Beach, my daughter-in-law wondered if we would have to take our own linens (she was familiar with rentals that don't provide them) and I wondered if the property was really as beautiful as the pictures (Photoshop can do amazing things). The reality delighted us all. The property is beautiful and spacious. The pictures were true! The cleaning crew had done a great job. The house was spotless. Coming from different parts of the country, we had four vehicles and had wondered about parking space. There was plenty of space in back and in the garage. As for things provided, not only were there linens and great fluffly bath towels, there were beach towels, floats, bikes, kites, sun visors, tennis racquets, even toys for the dogs -- I was amazed at all the extras that were provided. Accessing the front door with a combination relieved us of having to carry a key to the beach or wondering who had the key. It was a great convenience. One reason we had chosen this rental was because the owners allowed dogs, and we like to take our dogs with us. The requirement to keep the dogs on the first floor was not a problem. The kitchen, living rooms, were all on the first floor, and a gate on the stairway made it easy to keep the dogs downstairs. The owners had given lots of information about local places to eat, and they were only a phone call away if we had problems (we didn't) or questions. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone. In fact, we're hoping our schedules will allow us to get together there ourselves in 2011. It's a rental that exceeded our expectations!

Our family was in awe upon arrival last Saturday. The home is beautiful and it feels like a home. Our adult children, their spouses and our small grandchildren were all so delighted to have their own areas to retreat when needed. The house being so close to the beach and the center of Folly, not to mention just 15 minutes (in traffic) from downtown Charleston gives everyone the opportunity to do what they want, when they want. The only car driving was to see the sights not on Folly and to get groceries, everything else, walking distance. Want to see Charleston, zip across the St James Expressway and there you are, all the sights, sounds, history and food of the South. Everything you need for the beach the owners have provided: chairs, towels, sand toys, no need to bring your own. We found the Buckleys to be great owners and very patient in answering all of our questions as this is the first time we have taken on such a major undertaking as bringing our adult children and their families together for vacation. They have thought of those little things that most people forget until you get there. If you want an extraordinary place to stay, close to a beautiful beach, in the midst of an eclectic town and close to things to do in a big city this is the rental for you, whether you have dogs or not. Our dog enjoyed exploring the ocean, the great yard, etc. So what are you waiting for, contact the Buckleys and book your week, you will be glad you did and you take home fantastic memories...and a little sand. We are coming back next year, however, one note if you are bringing children under 3, we are bringing some additional gates for the stairwells next year and because of the beautiful tiled floors on the main level and the great high ceilings, the noise level gets high when you have children squealing, laughing and chattering, but those are wonderful sounds.

This sumptuous villa has every feature advertised and much more. We had 5 adults ranging from 26 -58, a 6 month old, and the family dog. Every needed accoutrement was at hand for going to the beach and being comfortable, cooking/grilling in the fabulous kitchen, enjoying cards and TV, and relaxing in the beautifully appointed bedrooms. The house was exceptionally clean and we would recommend this property to anyone who enjoys staying in a grandly elegant villa.

What a wonderful experience for two newly retired couples. We so enjoyed our few days and nights of luxury and the opportunity to explore Folly Beach with its delightful bohemian atmosphere. The house is everything and more than advertised - gorgeous, comfortable and expansive. With the high ceilings, big rooms and numerous sitting areas, 8 people would still feel las if they had lots of private space. So much is thoughtfully provided that you truly don't have to worry about bringing supplies and beach equipment. We spent much of our time on the comfortable expansive covered porch and the open piazza with the sounds and sights of the ocean. Ate really good, reasonably priced food at Rita's, Lost Dog Cafe and Crab Shack. Beach is wide, clean and beautiful. Folks are just so nice and friendly. And we just loved that so much was within walking distance. This house is very reasonably priced for what is provided. Thank you, Buckley's, for offering this housing option at Folly Beach.

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at Leonie's beautiful Folly Beach house. Besides being the most beautiful house on the street, it is also well designed with plenty of space for family/friends and animals and offers every amenity as well. The kitchen is awesome and comes equipped with everything you could possibly need. The short drive into Charleston is convenient and we did plenty of sightseeing with enough time left over to hit the beach in the afternoons. It's the best of both worlds! Thanks Leonie!

A friend and I just returned from our wonderful 5 day vacation at this beautiful beach home. We felt as though we were staying in a five star hotel! We spent our mornings eating breakfast on the comfortable screened porch. The weather was perfect, and my two dogs had plenty of good exercise walking on the beach. Home is in a perfect location, short walk to the ocean, restaurants and shops. We never drove our car during our entire stay. The owner provides so many special touches that make a stay at either of her homes very comfortable. You won't find a nicer pet friendly home anywhere on Folly Beach! I am so appreciative of you allowing us to have a few days at your gorgeous home.

We had an amazing time at your beautiful house! Pictures cannot do the house justice; when you walk in, you know that your vacation is going to relaxing and wonderful, even if you never leave the house. The view of the ocean from the upper deck was better than expected. Every morning waking up was like waking up on the beach because you can still hear the ocean waves crashing. Folly beach is the perfect size and has everything that you will need with Charleston only a ten minute drive over the bridge. We want to go back ASAP!!!

If you decide to stay at the Mediterranean villa on Folly Island you will be as pleased as we were. The villa is conveniently located a quick stroll to the beach and Center Street where cute shops and tasty restaurants are located. The villa itself is wonderfully accommodating, spacious enough for three, possibly four couples, or a large family gathering, including your dog. There's enough room to spread out and enjoy the patio, porch, living room and huge family kitchen, all tastefully appointed and fully equipped. If you buy fresh fish from Crosby's nearby, you'll have a fabulous gourmet kitchen to prepare it in. Everything is just as described, if anything it exceeded our expectations. Lee is dedicated to making your vacation as wonderful as possible. You'll be delighted!

House was great, everyone talked about how nice all weekend. Open spaces, decor, furnishings were all just wonderful. Roof deck was very popular Friday (warm sunshine), and some use Saturday morning. DVD is hooked up and works (one guy in group full tech-geek) TV has really good picture, watched ROLLING STONES live concert tape Saturday night after dinner. Surround sound was wonderful. The cooks LOVED kitchen, that range/oven/hood combo is to die for, had fresh seafood two (2) nights (local shop), fixed full spread breakfast every morning. We did eat out local first night, couple lunches, and short pub crawl Friday night, very friendly, good food, and good service. Weather turned out wonderfull, golf, walkers and had bicycles, toured around from park to light house and in between. Drive in basement was nice when unloading, then Sunday came with rain, was great when loading to leave. Take care of place we are planning to come back

Great location with an easy walk to the beach or town. Never had to use our car. And I think we only used one-third of the house!! The owners are very attentive to every detail and then some. This home on Folly Beach is definitely the place to stay. Spacious, comfortable and reasonably priced,it was perfect for our family reunion. We had my parents, my daughter, son-in-law and their three children for a weekend stay. The house accomodated everyone beautifully. Andi, our black lab, loved our morning walks on the beach. She especially misses the very generous people at Bert's Market. Bert's was a daily stop on the way back from our morning walk to pick up the newspaper. All of the workers loved Andi, she would end up leaving with at least two cookies, sometimes more. Within walking distance on Folly Beach, more than one visit to The Lost Dog restaurant on Huron Ave is a must. Just down the street is the Crab Shack another good choice. We also enjoyed the pleasures of Charleston, only 15 minutes away, and visits to frends on Seabrook Island. Hymen's Seafood and Poogan's Porch in Charleston were two of our favorites. Our two weeks stay went quickly, and we look forward to returning to this great home on Folly Beach! If you are considering staying on Folly Beach, this is the place to be. You won't be dissapointed!

We absolutely loved the house. It is well kept and very spacious. The rate for December rental was very reasonable. We used the house for our honeymoon and it exceeded our needs as there were just two of us. It is close to the beach and very near downtown Charlestown (maybe 10 minutes). The upper porch has a view of the ocean and is connected to the master bedroom and very spacious, but it is also very private as this balcony is above most of the neighboring properties. Would recommend to anyone from a couple of two to a large family. We would love to come and stay here again.
Owner response:We would also love to have Ben and Carol back.It gives me great pride and pleasure to see so many repeat guests each year. Thanks for your kind comments. Good Luck together ,Leonie

We are originally from Charleston and have a lot of family still living in the area. Your home was the perfect place for us to gather, enjoy good food prepared in your amazing kitchen and spend time taking trips down memory lane. The upstairs patio was a gathering spot for the younger family members, while the older folks spent most of their time on the well-furnished porch. The amenities are fantastic, the beds extremely comfortable, and all the personal touches from scented hand soaps to ambient lighting to your thoughtful instructional notes, made our stay there such a memorable occasion. The convenient location to downtown Folly was perfect for quick runs to Berts for grocery items or a short walk to a local hangout for a beer. I hope to return soon!

Being retired, I've rented a number of houses on the North Carolina and South Carolina coast. This is by far the nicest house I've ever rented. This is a very large house so the five of us had plenty of space for our quiet time. The house is well appointed with quality linens and towels. The large kitchen has every convenience. If you are looking for a spacious and comfortable house that is only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, then I highly recommend this 5 star luxury home. Leonie, the owner, makes every attempt to see that the house is well taken care of. The connector 30 to Charleston makes an easy and fast trip into that charming town which abounds in excellent restaurants, ante-bellum houses, and many fine shops. My friends and I consider ourselves fortunate to have found this wonderful house where we intend to spend more time in the future.

The owner went above and beyond any renter that I have ever experienced. This home is the ultimate beach vacation rental. From the high-quality linens and bath products, to the well-stocked gourmet kitchen, it was five star luxury all the way, just as it is billed in its listing. We were so appreciative to find a pet-friendly home that was also luxurious... something that you rarely find. And the size of the home allowed all our family members to have their own rooms, and we could spread out and enjoy some relaxation without being on top of each other. This house is clean, well-stocked and comfortable. It has all the amenities you could possibly need for a beach vacation. You don't need to bring a thing! There was even a large dog crate, perfect for our golden retriever. We loved Folly Beach and the local atmosphere. The local "Lost Dog Cafe" was a perfect place for breakfast. Charleston was so easily accessible with all its lovely shops and restaurants, not to mention all the historical sites. The entire Charleston area has so much to explore, and Folly is the perfect hub for seeing it all. In short, we can't say enough about this great home and the owner's customer service. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, luxurious beach rental (with or without the family dog!).
Owner response:Thank you yet again to all my great guests .I really do appreciate you going to the trouble of going online to give my home such a nice review. It really does make me work even harder to make it perfect for you all . Thanks so much best wishes ,Leonie

A wonderful, spacious, clean and comfortable home to relax in with the pounding surf within view. We had a very enjoyable month and my 9 year old yellow lab was relaxed and enjoyed his stay also. There is plenty of room to socialize with house guests and yet have your own space too. My husband and I both brought laptops and could keep up with everything that needed tending to, on high-speed cable. We would definitely choose this house again for a vacation in the future.

We just returned from a great week at Folly Beach/Charleston where we gathered with family to celebrate Christmas together. (8 adults 1 12mo.) This house was perfect for that occasion as it would be for any time of the year. It was truly one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in....warmly and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds. The open and very flowing design of this house provides great space for gathering & a beautiful kitchen, yet everyone had their own bedrooms and privacy when needed. We would recommend this house to anyone and hope to return ourselves. Lee, the owner, was very helpful and gracious and we truly appreciated her welcoming warmth and the effort she puts forth to make your vacation enjoyable. Try this house & you'll be glad you did!

There were 7 adults and the house size was perfect. Location to town and the beach were great! Loved the upstairs deck! Thanks for the nice bed linenes and towels, that is a real plus for a rental home. Folly Beach is like a small Key West, ecclectic and laid back. We actually sat back and did nothing! Thank you Lee!

We had a wonderful time at Folly Beach and absolutely LOVED staying at this home. It is comfortable, spacious and clean. It comes with nice linens on the beds and ample towels-both bath and beach. One of our favorites was the kitchen which made cooking enjoyable with the adjacent family room. Our family enjoyed hanging out in this area. However, the highlight of the home was the large balcony area. We enjoyed breakfast out there and my teenage girls and I spent a good part of the day resting and reading on the lounge chairs provided. It was also nice when the beach was too cool. We liked with this location that we could walk into town to enjoy some restaurants. When I called to make the reservation, Lee was extremely helpful in explaining the rental and area to me, especially since we had never been to the Charleston area, and particularly Folly beach. My girls are anxiously looking forward to when we can go back and enjoy this home at Folly.

After seeing the previous comment I had to comment, bc the owner was very responsive to my request. We are headed to 210 E Cooper this weekend and will report more later. Looking forward to a great weekend!

The owner did not return my call about booking this property even though the dates were available on the calender. Once I did finally talk to her she wasn't very friendly. Will not do business with them again.
Owner response:I try to respond to everyones e mail as soon as possible as well as returning all phone calls .However I am sometimes away and although always available to reciece emergency calls from booked guestsI cannot return every e amil request or phone call immediately .As for my lack of friendliness I am sure this persons irritation at the delay in getting hold of me may have been obvious to me .I am very careful who I let rent my home and because of this I have had only very happy guests staying there .I make sure that the house will be a good fit for them and their group as well as for the good of my home and its future guests .Also sometimes some people call at the most amazing times not respecting the normal civil hours in which to call .I never rent to someone who does not show me respect as therefore they will not respect my home

We had a great girls week-end! The house was more then anyone could ask for, with everything right at our finger tips. Our family will do this many more times in the future. Thank you Lee, for thinking of all the details!

This vacation was one of the best! The house was absolutely incredible. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Our guests were blown away. Our favorite part was the deck on the second floor overlooking the ocean. Also, the proximity to town made this vacation very relaxing. Everything you need within a five minute walk. Folly is perfectly relaxing. This cacation rocked!!!

What a great experience for our family. Lee was very thoughtful of our needs with toddlers especially. Fully equiped for pleasure, from bikes to scooter to kayak to huge garage (to ride big wheels for those real hot days) to sundeck to screened porch to Home Theater system to killer kitchen to killer master to sweet carolina jasmine landscape----I wanted to live there---DON"T WAIT--CALL LEE, or you will really miss a great opportunity.
