The apartment is located in Villas de Playa I in the town of Dorado, readily accesible via expressway from the San Juan Airport. Dorado maintains the blend of a small town with all the ameinities of a large city, since it has become a bedroom community of San Juan.
The apartment is a three bedroom, three level walkup apartment, whose interior has been recently redone, next to the beach with an ocean view. The first level has the living and dining areas, a modern kitchen and a full bathroom, which is convenient since there is a sleeper sofa that converts into a queen sized bed in the living room. In addition to having air conditioning in every room, the living room/kitchen area is also air conditioned.
The second floor has two bedrooms, each with a private full bath. One of the bedrooms has a queen sized bed and faces the ocean; the other has bunk beds which sleeps three persons.Each room is air conditioned. The top floor holds the Master bedroomed,, which is also air conditioned, has a king sized bed, a full bath and a sitting area.
Among other facilities, there is a children's playground as well as two controlled access swimming pools, one of them a wading pool.
The property is next to the Embassy Suites and the Dorado del Mar Golf Club, both less than 5 minutes walking distance. From the apartment you can walk west along Sardinera beach ( beach in the Dorado Beach Hotel ) or exercise along the beach following the Rockefeller nature trail. The Dorado fishing village is next to the compound and you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen as they return from the sea around noon each day.
There are several fine restaurants in the area, including the award winning El Ladrillo, which is also an art gallery, as well as other delicious seafood restaurants next to the Dorado beach. If you are into trying typical Puerto Rican fritters, there are also kiosks along the beach to enjoy them.
You are close to three of the most visited tourist locations in Puerto Rico: the Bacardi Rum distillery, the Camuy caves and the Arecibo radiotelescope. The first is located to the east, reachable following route 165, which runs next to the ocean. The other two are to the west, near the town of Lares.

Why the Owner Chose Dorado
We first bought in 2002 because of the proximity of Dorado to San Juan, so it only takes us 25 minutes to get home. At the same time, we were looking for a beach house directly on the beach, where you could walk and not have to take a car to the beach. We had several friends who also owned villas here, we had visited many times and knew of the well-kept grounds and peacefullness of the site.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
When we first bought the apartmnent, I was stil working and this place provided the ideal site for decompressing during week-ends. Once we are here, we normally walk on the beach or along the golf courses, which provides a very enjoyable execise time.I enjoy listening to the sound of the waves as they reach the beach and read a book. We enjoy the beach and I have learned to cook for family and friends during the week end.

Paradise and Home in One

We recently rented this villa. Let me first start off by saying the owners; Jorge and Kristy are wonderful. The villa is beautiful. The kitchen has been recently redone since the pictures online. The place is very spacious and clean. The views are amazing from the back since it facing the ocean. There is also a lot of area in the back for kids to play safely. The pool is just around the corner. There is a security guard walking the grounds 24 hrs so you feel really safe however the community is really nice and quiet. Dorado is also a really nice town. There are alot of stores and restaurants right outside of the villa community. You are also close to major highways going to San Juan or out west towards Arecibo. We had such a wonderful time that we are looking forward to returning next year. My children felt like they were right at home yet still in paradise.

Our stay in Dorado was wonderful this last March. Our two daughters and three grandchildren joined us and had a great stay as well as lots of things to do. The apartment was comfortable, clean and very nicely supplied and decorated, with beautiful beach views and balconies. The staff at the development as well as the owners of the unit were easily available and very helpful in all our querries. The development is located near grocery stores, restaurants and easily accessible to San Juan and other attractions. We also enjoyed using the facillities at the Embassy Suites--their beach, pool and restaurant.Definitely will stay there again if the occasion arises. For those so inclined, there is even a casino nearby at The Embassy Suites

Very friendly representative (since owner was traveling in Europe) greeted us and answered all questions. She was available by phone during the week if there had been problems (but there were none) as was owner's daughter. Condo was furnished most comfortably, was very clean, and looked exactly like the pictures, but it felt more spacious than seemed in the pictures. Our almost 5 year old grandaughter was able to play outside safely because property is completely fenced in with gated access to two beautiful beaches. Everyone we met on the beaches or in the condo property was friendly and helpful. We loved being outside of the city, but it's very easy to drive in to San Juan, or to other interesting sites both to the East and to the West. We were very happy staying here and definitely want to return.

WOW! This was my best vacation yet to Puerto Rico. The house is above and beyond anyones expectations. We were there for 12 days, myself, my wife, my daughter, my parents and my mother-in-law. We had the time of our lives. It is such a beautiful home and has so much space. Everything we needed was made available to us. I miss the walks along the beach in the morning. My daughter Alexa misses her early morning stroll with grandpa on the inside the gated community along the fence. The was a pisture perfect paradise, beyond imagination home. I loved the master bedroom and the balcony. I actually slept outside with my wife one night, listening to the ocean and feeling the cool ocean breeze. Jorge and his wife are TERRIFIC! The received us and made us feel like the place was ours. They even went ahead and bought a crib... brand new just for my baby! I was genuinely impressed, with both the owners and the home. There is so much to say, but in all honesty, you have to experience it yourself. Next year.... WE WILL BE BACK!!! Thanks again Jorge and God bless you!
