Map & Owner's Profile

Spacious 3-Level, 2 BR Plus Loft Mountain Home

Year Purchased: 1988

Why the Owner Chose Pinecrest

We have been visiting the Pinecrest area for over twenty-five years and love its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere and scenic beauty and interest. Away from the heavy traffic and crowds of Tahoe and Yosemite, but close enough for a visit, this lovely part of the Sierra provides all of the activities that people come to the mountains for. Sonora Pass was the earliest route over the Sierra and is one of the highest and most scenic.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Our mountain home was custom built to modern standards in 1988. Among other things, the outside walls were built with 2" x 6"s, instead of the standard 2" x 4"s, allowing for 50 per cent more insulation and strength, which makes the house easy to keep warm and cozy in winter and cooler in summer.

We live on the coast and love to visit the mountains, so we feel we have the best of both worlds. Our house has been well taken care of. It's hard to believe that 20 years have passed.

Owner's Map of Pinecrest

We are a retired couple--a native Californian and transplanted Floridian. We enjoy traveling ourselves and also enjoy providing a happy experience for the travelers who visit our mountain home. We enjoy cooking and think our mountain kitchen reflects that interest. In the photo, we're hiking in the woods behind our cabin, along a creek that runs to the north fork of the Tuolumne River.

    • My family and my brother's family had a wonderful time staying at the Miller's cabin. It is a beautiful cabin and we were grateful that we were able to bring our dogs with us. We took them on the trail around Pine Crest lake - what a beautiful hike! So many beautiful spots to visit. The cabin is beautiful and the stove was the bomb! Just loved it, and there are all the cooking utensils a foodie will really appreciate. We grilled and cooked every night and just enjoyed our stay. Lovely!

    • My husband and two boys just got home from the Miller's cabin and boy did we have a good time! The cabin is soooo nice! It was actually hard to get the boys out as they enjoyed the pool table and "their" loft so much. The backyard is beautiful as all you see are pinetrees. It had everything I needed to cook also! There is so much to do in the area. We went to Jamestown to ride the steam train, went up Hwy 49 (Gold Rush Hwy) and panned for gold, went in a working gold mine, and fished two of the three local lakes. None of us wanted to come home! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Miller for a wonderful

    • My family of 6 and I had a great time at this cozy Pinecrest cabin (house). All the comforts of home, nestled in the woods, with beautiful decks and a fun pool table for the kids. Minutes from the lake and lots of fun activities for all of us. Very peaceful and quiet with the delicious smell of warm pine. The kitchen is great and fully stocked. My husband is a chef and it met his high standards!! Very roomy and loved all the windows overlooking the woods. We highly recommend a visit! The only suggestions I would offer to make this an absolutely perfect place would be a hot tub, and possibly a bird feeder!

My pre-teen children enjoyed the pool table while my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet on the deck which overlooked the beautiful forest. We would definitely love to go back.

    • Great family get away! We have stayed at this cabin in Pinecrest several times and feel very at home and comfortable during our stay. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful trees and feels very private, yet is close to skiing, the lake and other amenities.

We had a lovely time at your cabin and a lovely time in the mountains. I have been going to the Pinecrest area for many years, and each year we return I love it just as much as the first time. Your cabin was lovely, and we so enjoyed ourselves, my niece said she wished that she could live there forever!
