Your home was lovely; and was extremely convenient to the metro, which we took every day. Also, to and from the airport, we took the Express Airport Bus (#12) to Schuman station, and the metro to Tomberg, all for 3 euro. It was a snap and super inexpensive. We travelled to Antwerp, Brugges, and Waterloo. In retrospect, because of the time involved with taking public transportation to Waterloo, it was not a good use of our time (metro to Gare Centraal, train to Waterloo, 15 minute walk to info booth, 15 minute local bus ride, 10 minute walk, and finally - the battle site; and then return!). However both Antwerp and Brugges were lovely and certainly I would recommend them to anyone. We even found the farmer's market around Gare Midi (I think it was that one...). We always look for outdoor markets wherever we travel, as it's a good way to feel like a local! On our first day, we did walk to your local park (out front door, left, left, right...) wandered the park, which was full of students... Easily found the GB grocery store. Your home is in a lovely neighborhood! We have rented extensively through VRBO and have never been disappointed. Yours however was the largest and most modern (there's a lot to be said for modern bathrooms!).

From a Guest's email..... "Dear Valerie: Your email arrived about an hour before I was intending to email you to thank you again for the opportunity to use your Brussels home. Our stay was wonderful. While the weather was pretty gray, only on one day did it rain and then for only a short time. The location of the apartment was ideal for our getting around by Metro. We spent a day in Amsterdam, a day in Paris, a day trip to Ghent and Bruges, and three days exploring Brussels. All in all a great time. If the opportunity arises again to visit Brussels we will certainly contact you to see if your apartment is available. Clearly, I will recommend others to you as well. Wishing you a wonderful 2007"
