My husband and me were looking for a vacation rental on the north shore and were hoping for a typical Hawaiian house ( stayed in condos before ) and we're very lucky we found this hidden gem.The pictures on the web are lovely and reflect the beautiful quiet light floated feeling of the property - being there was magical sun or rain ,surrounded by tropical foliage and two minutes from the ocean ,very private but only a ten minute drive to Hanalei town along a fantastic coastline and many beaches .Perfect to relax and take in the scenery , and when we felt a little more active we would use the bikes or snorkel gear provided .We would definitely recommend it for a couple looking for a romantic or relaxing retreat .The house felt like a home and has a great layout and lots of porch space, also the shower was great and the kichen nicely equipped .Our hostess was very welcoming and fun and we are glad we found her ,hopefully we will be coming back in the future !

One of the best vacations we have ever taken. Everything was as advertised, this was the perfect property for a "beach bum" vacation on the North Shore of Kauai. Very affordable and near all the good beaches. Property was clean and comfortable (if a bit dated) and all the amenities you would expect are available. We definitely plan on returning...

We spent a week in this house and had a terrific experience! It was perfectly located for all of the North shore activities that we wanted - snorkeling at Tunnels, hiking, kayaking, the farmer's market just outside of Hanalei, and easy access to Hanalei for eating out and shopping. We had everything we needed for the beach - boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, chairs. I especially enjoyed sitting out on the lanai each morning with my coffee. Overall, a great experience!

My girlfriend and I visited in May 2011. We researched Kauai, as well as rentals and hotels for weeks before settling on Cia's place. We did not want a cookie cutter resort. We wanted our own space with close access to a small town and interesting folks. The house and location were exactly what we were looking for. The home is on a quiet street, down a gravel driveway, and is surrounded by lush trees and flowers. The house is clean and sufficiently modern with everything we needed. We awoke each day to the sound of light rain and the most beautiful birdsongs either of us had ever heard. The location is close enough to Hanalei to enjoy the slow-paced restaurants and bars, then retreat to near solitude at night. The drive in and out of town, across single lane bridges curving at the base of the most beautiful, green hills was a delight in and of itself. Tunnels beach is just 5 minutes away and must be seen to be believed. We also enjoyed the sunsets over Kee beach. Add the Na Pali trail and the beaches of Hanalei Bay and you have enough activities to fill a week without venturing more than 7 miles ... not that you would visit Kauai without taking a drive to Wiamea or a walk into the island's interior. Note that the jungle and rain come with mosquitos. And Kauai itself comes with roosters crowing at 5 am. We've never been so happy to be bitten by a mosquito or awaken by a rooster. Simply stated, Ha'ena is the most beautiful place either of us had ever seen or that we could ever imagine. Simply amazing, even for Kauai and Hawaii standards. I only wish that I could share my photos on this site. Thanks, Cia, for sharing your home. I hope that we are lucky enough to return.

My wife, 12 year old daughter and her friend stayed for a week at Cia's house in the jungle. WOW. We walked into the house and revelled in the views from all windows of lush vegetation. A banana tree out one window, an avacado out another. Lots of palms and tropical flowers on the property. It felt very secluded even though there were two houses not far away. A cacophny af jungle noises, with the addition of the ubiquitous roosters. Great location near Tunnels beach (best snorkeling on the island). Lots of snorkeling gear available. Nice to have internet access to check e-mail. Comfotable sleeping. Lots of mosquitos (part of the jungle) that stayed outside.

We have been to Kauai many times and have stayed in many different places around the island. This wonderful home, nestled back off the road, is by far our favorite! The home is quiet, private, well stocked and very comfortable. We so enjoyed all the extras, especially the bikes. We rode them every day to watch sunrise and sunset on the beach. They are a great alternative to driving to Tunnels or Ke'e. We love this house so much, we have already booked again for next year! Until then, we'll be dreaming of Kauai.

We loved this amazing island paradise home. It was beautiful and relaxing. The extras were amazing and really made us feel at home. If you want a quite tropical seclusion, this is the place. We wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else! (And very reasonably priced.)

In October/November we (2 adults and one four year old) stayed at Haena Paradise for 3 weeks. We had a fantastic time. The house was perfect for us and it's surrounds. We had plenty of space and our daughter was able to play in a safe environment, both inside and outside the house. A short stroll down the road to the beach. But our favourite beach was Tunnels, a few minutes by car. Sunsets, rainbows, rain, sunshine, chickens, Californian wine, bbq's on the deck.........we loved every day Thankyou to Gabe and Sara for the supplies left in the fridge Jacqueline, Sven, Cassie from Canberra Australia

I stayed stayed at the Haena Paradise for a month and enjoyed my stay immensely. The home was extremely comfortable and the location was quiet, restful, beatiful and lush. The Hot tub after a day at the beach was heaven. The property is wonderful and I hope to go back again next year.

Really a great house, especially for the money. Best part of kauai to stay if you want a beautiful setting and quiet. Beaches are very close. Enjoyed working with Gabe.
