This beautiful property is located on a peninsula between the ocean (Buzzards Bay) and a large salt marsh wildlife sanctuary. It sits on 1.7 acres in a quiet private association of homes, 1 1/2 hrs from Boston. Enjoy unrestricted views of Buzzards Bay - Cleveland Ledge Lighthouse, Woods Hole, and the Queen Elizabeth Islands. Swim in the surf or read your book on your own private beach. Wander 1/4 mile down the beach to the tidal river which feeds the salt marsh, and float on the tide. Build sand castles on the huge sand bar at low tide. Enjoy meals on your deck watching the waves. Ride your bikes to the Shining Sea bike path, and explore the 11 miles from Woods Hole to North Falmouth. Fish right off the beach, or launch your boat in the nearby harbor and fish in Buzzards Bay. Play tennis in West Falmouth. Eat seafood in the many local restaurants. And most importantly, relax!
BEACH HOUSE (sleeps 6) The house sits above your private beach. It is sunny, comfortable, and a year round home (heated and available for rent all year). Perfect for families, our property has been in our family since 1929, and we spend our vacations here. Enjoy watching the sunsets every day from the cathedral ceilinged living room, or the front deck. The house has both front and back decks with gas grill, picnic table, and all deck furniture included. Full kitchen with all appliances. Living room and dining room with ocean views, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 1 1/2 baths, plus a full basement with washer/dryer and an array of beach toys and a kayak. Cable TV, telephone and high speed Internet with Wifi included.
We also have a roomy GUEST COTTAGE (sleeps 6) if you need more room! The rent for this is $1800 per week. Please call us for details. This 'upside-down' 2-story rustic summer cottage is set among bushes and cedar trees across the narrow road from the Main House. The back lawn leads down to the large Sippewissett salt marsh where you can enjoy the peace & quiet while you watch for osprey, egrets, herons, and piping plover, and kids hunt for fiddler crabs. Downstairs bedrooms sleep 6 - 2 1/2 bedrooms, 1/2 bath. Outdoor shower. Upstairs - Living room, kitchen and dining area. Deck with picnic table and chairs. Gas grille.
