Location: Bedoin, Provence, France, Europe (25mls west of Avignon 55mls Nimes or Marseille airports)

Accommodations:  Modern Provençal Villa, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)

This beautiful Provencal holiday villa sleep upto six in three prity en-suite bedrooms, it’s set in a most interesting and historical part of France, it is available all year round for long or short term renting. Located two kilometres from Bedoin in the tiny hamlet of Les Heritiers.

The Villa is surrounded by olive & cherry trees, plus vine and oak trees (for truffle production) tastefully furnished throughout, the Villa has an open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area, plus three pretty en-suite bedrooms. The spacious kitchen is Provencal in style, it contains all the modern appliances with extensive work surfaces, ideal for preparing all your meals, the kitchen has a large window from which you can enjoys the most magnificent view of the Mont. Ventoux. The views are absolutely stunning and need to be seen to be believed. The dining area has a large wooden table suitable for up to eight people.

The three bedrooms lead off from the dining area; all rooms are en-suite with large walk in shower, sink and toilet and have either king size or two large single beds. One bedroom is south facing with double French doors leading into the walled garden, the other two rooms are north facing, again with absolutely stunning views of the Ventoux.

The lounge is extremely comfortable with log fire and French/English satellite TV. French doors lead from the lounge into your own private walled garden.

The garden areas have also been important to us, we felt that we had to maximise on the tremendous views of both the Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail.

We have designed a walled garden that is both attractive and gives maximum privacy; this includes a brick built, traditional beehive charcoal barbecue, with an adjacent covered dining area. The arched entrance to the villa also serves as a third eating area, all equipped with seating enough for eight people in comfort.

At the end of the walled garden is a beautiful solar heated swimming pool, 10 by 6 metres, with an overall depth of one and a half metres. Very large steps for ease of access enabling non-swimmers to enjoy the water. There is a large patio area with plenty of sun-loungers. For those who prefer a cooler aspect, there is a large covered north-facing terrace. This never sees the sun, so it is cool all day long and ideal for those who wish to escape the heat but would like to continue being by the pool enjoying the pool activities and excellent views of the mountain.

A little History about our project. My wife Pauline and I moved to France from England in 2000 to find the perfect location to construct a new home, together with a Villa for renting. We spent about two years looking around France, finally deciding on Bedoin. We then set about building what we consider to be the most perfect home for us and the most perfect villa for renting.

Local amenities, a pleasant evening stroll from the Villa are two adjacent Hamlets, Sainte Colombe and Les Baux, here you will find two bar/cafes that serve very good and inexpensive meals, plus a more expensive restaurant and two small hotels. You can generally enjoy a good three course meal for under 15, or take-away pizzas.

Explore this most attractive part of France, sandwiched between the Camargue, Ardèche and Rhone Valley, close to Avignon, Orange and Cavaillon.

On your doorstep the"Giant of Provence" (Mont Ventoux) the most unusual and attractive mountain at almost 2,000 meters, it is famous for it's flora and fauna throughout France. Not forgetting the Tour-de-France and the many vintage car rallies, together with "Formula Two" mountain climbs. The winter season regularly brings enough snow to the Ventoux for skiing and to have fun on a toboggan. Around the foothills of the Ventoux are numerous wonderful fortified little villages, all having their own unique character, each so very attractive and deserving a visit.

A little further a field are countless interesting and historic cities and not forgetting the Mediterranean coast.

Should you need help or advice we are in the house next door, you can see as little or as much of us as you wish. We will be there to welcome you and show you the Villa.

Bedoin is an old and beautiful provancal market village situated in a valley with the Dentelles de Montmirail Mountains to the west, the Luberon to the east and the mountain the Mont Ventoux to the north. The old part of town has a most unusual old church perched high on a hill, nestled along side are the old village houses which cling to the narrow winding streets, finally making their way down onto the main street, which is lined with Plane trees.

Monday morning brings the provencal market, which must be considered to be one of the provinces most attractive. Bedoin boasts some 18 restaurants, suiting all pockets, from the traditional French/Provencal cuisine to Pasta, it also has three cafes/bars. There are two small supermarkets, both extremely friendly and well stocked, plus the usual tabac selling postcards and some English papers etc.

Les Heritiers, this is perhaps one the smallest of the 22 Hamlets which surrounds Bedoin, with six houses and it's original farm house that continues to be occupied by the original farming family. As a farming community, the year is still punctuated by the seasons; this is empathised by the daily tasks of the local farmers and their local produce. The year starts with the asparagus, followed by the famous Carpentras strawberries, then cherries and many other soft fruits not forgetting the grape and wine production. Nearly all the local villages have local markets and festivals to celebrate the crops.
