I'm not quite sure how to review this home because much of what we experienced was weather related. We happened to hit our week stay at the cabin on the hottest week in history for the past 25 years with the dew point averaging 81 degrees. The bad thing about the cabin was that all it had was a window air conditioner but understandably it was a record week of highs and generally not that hot. The home itself is very nice with a great window view of the lake. It had everything we needed to have a meal, (pots, pans (no pizza pan). We had to provide our own paper products(napkins, paper towels and toilet paper.) It was nice to have a washer and dryer as we did'nt have to over pack and just brought a couple days of clothes and then washed them. It was also nice having a choice of gas or charcoal grill. The lake is a lot bigger then it seems but with the hot temps our fishing wasn't a lot to brag about. Now comes the most disappointing part of our trip: the dock and the boat itself. The dock is built of wood and I literally fell through a rotted board into the lake itself. Duane was very sorry about this and spent three days out in the heat putting new wood on so we could get to the boat safely. The boat(pontoon) was free. I thought the boat was a little unreliable as when you got out on the lake and you turned off the boat to fish it took a while to get it back to running speed when you started it back up to move elsewhere so we limited ourselves to very few stops. If you have your own boat it's a great area to be as you can go lake to lake to lake unfortunately the pontoon does not fit under the bridge to get to the next lake. It was a couple minor things to be aware of but it did'nt ruin the vacation. (A side note, the hottub was nice but we only used it twice as it was so stinking hot.) Duane is nice to work with and a great host. With a little money into the dock and the boat this place could be great! We did get to see Loons and an Eagle or two and a pair of foxes like to play around the steps to the dock and in the backyard. Also Dorsett and Park Rapids are close by with great Restaurants and Shopping. Zorbas on the Lake is fantastic also.

We just spent 2 nights on this nice cabin (it was a last minute vacation decision and we squeezed in the only 2 nights open). The cabin has 2 stories. The second story has 2 bedrooms. There is a bed in a semi private area outside the second bed room so it is perfect for a kid. The 3rdbed room is down stair (on the first floor) with another sofa bed outside. Our party has 8 people (6 adults and 2 kids) so we slept comfortably in the cabin. Since we don't have a boat so it was really nice to have a pontoon there to use. The lake is beautiful with clear water. The owner is very nice. He was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us the cabin and how to use the pontoon. He even brought us fishing gears since we forgot ours when leaving for vacation. All of us had a great time and we wish we could have stayed there longer.
