Booking over the internet always leaves one wondering what you will find when you actually get there. Well, we were pleasantly surprised with this house. It was clean, spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils for our week in Lakewood. We definitely would book this house again. The house is on a dead end street just across from the village park. This allowed our 2 year old to play freely on the sidewalk while we enjoyed sitting on the front porch. When she needed something more active, we could go across the street to the park which had a playground and swings for toddlers and another playground for older children. There are also tennis and basketball courts in the park and a beach area along the lake for which the owner of the house provides passes. During the summer, there are weekly musical performances in the park's gazebo which we enjoyed while sitting on the back deck at the house as we grilled out. The house served as our base as we spent the week catching up witrh friends and family. Some of the activities we enjoyed were dining on the lake at the Casino in Bemus Point and then watching the sunset on the lawn of the historic Hotel Lenhart. We spent a day walking around the Chautauqua Institution (Sunday is free for visitors). We have two small children and they enjoyed the amusement park rides at Midway State Park, as well as walking the trails and viewing the wildlife at the Audobon Society.
